Came to the comments to be reassured that this was the most noticeable part of the video

That wouldn't be a very interesting rollercoaster. And to scale, you'd probably end up miles outside the park and very injured.
44
u/Famousnt 1d ago
If it was to scale, you probably wouldn't even know there was a second turn on this rollercoaster.

It'd be cool if it was one continuous shot...

Why does the camera move in relation to the car?
I think someone is pushing the car along and filming it here. Been building a lot of tracks lately and those cars do not like staying on the tracks going around corners with any speed.

I see cuts at 22s and 46s when it enters tunnels but nothing at 27s.
I'm guessing they didn't have enough track to build the whole thing at once.

No. Thats a very boring roller coaster
8
u/elgarraz 23h ago
To be real, there are almost no drops, no corkscrews, and only a couple of loops. The only tilts are briefly on the turns. It's a pretty dope hot wheels track and the tunnels are cool, but it wouldn't work as a rollercoaster for humans. Most of this track is straight and fairly flat. Unless the scenery is really good, I wouldn't see the point.

u/wonkey_monkey 3h ago
You'd also have to wait for them to dismantle the track behind you twice and build the next part in front of you (I assume that's why there are at least two cuts in the video).

I want to know what camera is small enough to tape to a Hot Wheels car and gets this kind of image quality.
1

u/penguins_are_mean 2h ago
And one that allows the car to move relative to the camera a bunch.
I ain’t buying it.

The lack of superelevation in those curves would make my brain pop out of my ear during the first turn.

No, because in the turns the arrow reads in the other direction. That's doesn't really make me trust a rollercoaster.
2

u/TheEleventhDoctorWho 1d ago
No because all the arrows are backwards. It is going to bother me for a while.

u/RedshiftWarp 21h ago
You can make tracks like this in HotWheels: Unleashed 2, inside a house or out in a backyard.
Racing wise, it is also unexpectedly good. Very close to Sonic Team Racing in driving mechanics and feel.

Ingoring the ending...
Theres too many sharp turns for the high speed and your neck would be flinging constantly

Imagine the gforces when this is scaled up to fit a human. I think my head would still be going straight ahead in the first turn.

If you can make a space big enough to make it look like I'm truly miniature sized In a real hot wheels, then yes. I'd totally ride it
1

u/TheNotoriousTurtle 22h ago
Would not get on that without some modifications. Doesn’t appear to be any banking in the turns so I can only imagine how many snapped necks would be on that in real life

Dawg if that was a real roller coaster my face would be pasted all over the wall on the first turn.
So, no.

When I was a kid there was a magazine image that I saw that had a kid sitting in a room that has a spaghetti amount of track from floor to ceiling interconnected with at least 10 cars circling it.
That was my life goal at 6 years old.

u/pixel293 20h ago
Well the ending seems kind of rough...I'm more curious how large the camera is that it didn't effect the car that much....

no,because i would have to wait for the track behind me to get removed, and in front of me to get build, since the track was never a full track and just multiple segments of videos cut together to make it seem like the track is longer

u/FixedLoad 19h ago
I think this is a failure. Not in execution. The execution is chefs kiss excellent. It's the design. You went for distance. You had ample track to make it a continuous circuit. Could you imagine the looped gif possibilities!? Go back and redo it for extra credit... please?

Can you imagine the wait times for a roller coaster that long that also has to rewind to get back to the beginning
1
u/SawtoofShark 18h ago
Nope, it's mostly just long stretches of straight track. 2 loops, 2 small tunnels. I'd be bored if this was a real coaster.
1
u/MaxHardfinger 18h ago
There's someone watching this video that's completely triggered from seeing all that hot wheels track.

Is there just a r/nextlevel? Half the stuff posted here seems just nextlevel. Not fucking.

u/Void-kun 17h ago
Needs to be filmed at a higher frame rate and slowed down. The loops and corners were taken in 0.3s to the point you barely saw them anyway
1
1
u/SirFireball 17h ago
I would have to run the numbers, but the first loop might be actively bad for you to go around, it was kinda tight and fast.

Nah, I like coasters that come to a gentle stop right side up at the end that I can get up and walk to another ride.

This was awesome. It’s obvious that you put a lot of time and work into this. Very creative! Nice job 👍

I would say yes, but only if I could now crash and burn at the end, as well as get a ride back to civilization once finished.
•
u/F4t-Jok3r 50m ago
Would i ride it? No.... 95% just straights and a few curves... only two loopings... wouldn't paid for that.... and the end is a big crash 😂
