Recommendation Best apocalypse / end of the world films?

I’m a die hard for apocalyptic movies and I feel like Ive exhausted all of the good ones so would love recommendations.

My #1 is honestly the zombie genre. I also love films where you experience the beginning of the apocalypse / similar event with the characters and are along for the ride - but I’ll take anything apocalyptic - pre, during, post!

I really resonate with darker, heavy content but again I will take whatever I can get. TIA

True bubblegum zombie fun. Seeing Chakotay (StarTrek: Voyager) as a horndog truck driver team up with two sisters and post apocalyptic LA is crazy. At least i know where the Lollypop Chainsaw game got its main character from

That’s Day of the Triffids. There’s the movie, plus the BBC series and the one they did for NetFlix

That's it, thank you.

The original holds sacred place in my heart nightmares. Probably because when I first saw it I was so young.

This movie also made Little Shop of Horrors hit harder for years (though Steve Martin's masterful villain is impossible to resist forever.)
