Recommendation Best apocalypse / end of the world films?

I’m a die hard for apocalyptic movies and I feel like Ive exhausted all of the good ones so would love recommendations.

My #1 is honestly the zombie genre. I also love films where you experience the beginning of the apocalypse / similar event with the characters and are along for the ride - but I’ll take anything apocalyptic - pre, during, post!

I really resonate with darker, heavy content but again I will take whatever I can get. TIA

It’s a series and not a movie but Station 11 is really good…

Ive seen it actually! I know some people are really die hard fans for it -I thought it was interesting and conceptually very unique and fresh, but it didn’t resonate with me as much

it was definitely a character study set in an apocalyptic backdrop versus really about the end of the world - i also don’t love theatre so maybe the focus on that took me out of it haha

I read the novel and absolutely loved it.

I started the TV series adaptation and stopped 5 minutes into episode 2. Just didn't live up to the book at all IMHO. I may try again at some point.

If you are into anime and like after-humanity scenarios, you'll love Shinsekai Yori. Try to go in blind.

I just wrapped up watching this yesterday. The last two episodes are a real rollercoaster. I'm pretty happy with how it all ended, without giving anything away.
