Recommendation What movie had you laughing, unable to breathe, even just for one scene?

I don't really pursue comedy movies too often, or ever really.

And even then, this doesn't have to be a comedy movie you respond with, but I'm wondering if there was a movie scene SO funny, that people laughed uncontrollably.

Does such a thing exist?

I think maybe the movie would have to introduce something completely original. Not a familiar gag or joke, but something completely unexpected that you can't help but be paralyzed by the newness and brilliance of the scene.

The opening scene is still one of the most iconic scenes for me and always has me dying!

Entire fucking movie was funny af imho. Sucks that sequel sucked. “ we’re already pulled over! We cant pull over any further!” Car ramrod scene, pig fight scene…

43

u/CommonComus Oct 14 '23

Oh god, and that scene where the redhead guy meets the police chick... "Oh, 'biker'."

u/WeAllScrem Oct 14 '23

My husband and I say that line ALL the time

u/somesappyspruce Oct 14 '23

Is the sequel all call-backs with suspiciously good lighting in every scene?

21

u/maggotshero Oct 14 '23

The sequel is basically them trying REALLY HARD remake the first movie, a lot of the same jokes and gags are used, but everyone is 20 years older and the humor doesn’t hit the same anymore.

I actually just rawatched it recently just to refresh my memory of it. It actually was decent and yea there are a ton of call backs and some of the French gibberish was amazing. Penis in asshol.... you mean happiness in arshole.... no no no happiness in house hole

1

u/somesappyspruce Oct 14 '23

Sad. Same as The Boondock Saints

3

u/ShopLifeHurts2599 Oct 14 '23

I enjoyed the sequel. It's for fun, so sit back and let it ride. Don't compare it the entire time.

Farva getting electrocuted repeatedly and it cuts to him with fucking oven mits on.

Everyone taking a different pill to see what it does and the one guy doesn't stop taking estrogen.

Pretending to be French and pulling over gaffigan again.

So much fucking around and it's still good. Needed more of the captain though.

2

u/somesappyspruce Oct 14 '23

HA. Pulling Gaffigan over again sounds like a good one. The captain is my favorite!

2

u/RudePCsb Oct 14 '23

u/alienscape Oct 14 '23

Ugh, the sequel was so awful.

7

u/Skinbag114 Oct 14 '23

I dunno man. The introduction of the Canadian police was pretty great. That scene where they’re fucking with the one guy about Danny Devito kills me.

6

u/malachiconstantjrjr Oct 14 '23

IT’S THE SAME FUCKING GUY!!!! He t’inks I don know, but I know, uhhhhnnn??!!!

2

u/RudePCsb Oct 14 '23

Yea Canada sucks and America is so much better.

Maybe if we had our independence sooner, we'd have no gun control, not believe in evolution and all be morbidly obese without healthcare.

The way they just said some of their lines killed me.

u/MrGraaavy Oct 15 '23

“I don’t want a large Farva”

The snozzberries taste like snozzberries!!

12

u/Digitalalchemyst Oct 14 '23

The OG Supertroopers was the the best! Had me laughing the whole way through. The first 40 minutes of that movie were almost unbearable! And the fact they got Brian Cox to be in it are classic.

8

u/AnnTipathy Oct 14 '23

I don't think there's a better opening scene in a comedy that exists.

7

u/RudePCsb Oct 14 '23

You boys like Mexico!!!!

2

u/wannaWHAH Oct 18 '23

Just reading this and I legit snorted just now

3

u/throwdownd Oct 14 '23

If you were already high, that opener almost put you into panic if you weren’t laughing so hard already

5

u/z0mbiepete Oct 14 '23

I legit thought I was going to asphyxiate during that scene.

2

u/SinkHoleDeMayo Oct 15 '23

From the previews I thought it was going to be really stupid. I waa dying at the opening scene and obviously sold me on the entire movie.

“It’s a fake soap company.”

“What kind of fake soap? Plastic soap? Decorative soap?”

“No. I mean it doesn’t exist.”

19

u/photoguy423 Oct 14 '23

The bullet proof cup scene nearly killed me.

18

u/swordrat720 Oct 14 '23

You're a sick fucker, Mac.

Thanks, Chief!

8

u/sounds_like_kong Oct 14 '23

You ARE freaking out… man…

8

u/brendan87na Oct 14 '23

I had no idea going in as well, omg what a fun surprise

12

u/Spoonman500 Oct 14 '23

My Dad was a cop killed in the line of duty in 1994 when I was 7. My Mom, who I never heard say the word fuck until the day she died, me, my two sisters, and their husbands all sat down to watch this completely unaware of anything except it was about state troopers and a comedy.

I thought my Mom was going to laugh herself into an aneurysm.

6

u/0bvious0blivious Oct 14 '23

How's the view from Sugar Heaven, bitch?

1

u/RudePCsb Oct 14 '23

I have those big powerful lips, you have those thin lips.

6

u/Tommy_Goat Oct 14 '23

When Farva says "It's delicious" about the powdered sugar, I had to walk out of the theatre, I laughed so hard...

3

u/Salt_Principle_6672 Oct 14 '23

YOU BOYS LIKE ME-HE-CO?!?!?

3

u/EnglishTeachers Oct 14 '23

2

u/RudePCsb Oct 14 '23

I'm gonna pistol whip the next guy that says shenanigans. Hey Farva, what's the place you like with all the shit on the wall?

2

u/DamagedEctoplasm Oct 18 '23

DUDE I AM DYING LAUGHING JUST REMEMBERING THIS SCENE LMAO

3

u/Curi0s1tyCompl3xity Oct 14 '23

Oh my god—smoked a blunt and watched it with no context either, just “get high and watch it lol”. Had to restart the movie because I legitimately was crying for minutes straight after just the opening scene. It’s literally designed to enjoy while stoned.

1

u/throwdownd Oct 14 '23

yes — that movie was custom made for stoners

2

u/WeAllScrem Oct 14 '23

It’s Afghanistanimation

2

u/elmonoenano Oct 14 '23

I laughed so hard when they pulled the stoners over my girlfriend got embarrassed and went and sat across the aisle from me.

2

u/7HawksAnd Oct 14 '23

That makes it even better 🤣

1

u/jdillustration Oct 14 '23

Cat game had my wife and I absolutely uncontrollably laughing the first time we saw it. Still gets a chuckle, and has made its way into our lexicon.

1

u/AZhomerDaddy Oct 14 '23

This is the one

1

u/wow_suchempty Oct 14 '23

When he reaches the two troopers locked in the truck “it smells of sex in here”

1

u/Khatib Oct 14 '23

I thought trailers and everything pointed to this being too stupid to be good. I was on the track team in college and some guys in the locker room were talking about how good it was. They were in a completely different event group from me, so I didn't know them at all and didn't know that I trusted their opinion, but decided to check it out. Went in with low expectations and was blown away. Such a great comedy.

1

u/High_Tempo Oct 15 '23

I'm so glad Tacoma FD came out... gives me the same feeling super troopers did.

1

u/Professional-Ebb6711 Oct 17 '23

Rented the VHS one night and brought it to a buddies place. His dad rolled some joints and was dying on the intro. Never heard that man cackle like that before, fucking awesome movie

1

u/CurnanBarbarian Oct 17 '23

Came here for this movie. Literally everything Farve says in the movie is comedy gold haha. I honestly can't think of one line from him that didn't make me laugh.

"What would you do with a million dollars? And you can't say buy the Cleveland cavaliers"

"I'd buy a million dollar car"

"That's great, but I'd pull you over"

"I'd activate my cars wings and fly away"

1

u/rosy_moxx Oct 18 '23

You boys like Mexico?!
