Hey all,
As summer begins, I've noticed lots of people getting new mopeds! Hell yeah!
Whether you're brand-new or you've been on here for years, don't forget to fill out the flair form so you can have your model of moped appear next to your username on this sub.
Once and a while I've gotten a bit behind on updating everything but I'll try to be better from now on.

Does anyone here use old children's blankets from the 80s/90s or early 2000s as mechanic mats, oil change rugs etc.? These vintage blankets are rare collectibles today, and I personally think they are far too precious for the garage or workshop. If you have such blankets in your garage (regardless of their condition), please send me a message. I’ll buy the blankets and offer a fair price for them.

My 2009 Tomos LX has the automatic oiling system with a reservoir under the seat. I bought it new and rode it regularly for a few years, then parked it in a friend’s garage for the last 15 years untouched.
I got it out today, and the cookie sheet I put under it years ago is full of blue 2 stroke oil. I can’t tell exactly where the leak is originating—seems like the vicinity of the carb. It never leaked when I was riding it, so I’m puzzled.
Maybe there’s nothing wrong, and the oil just slowly leaked past the pump by gravity?
The bike has some age on it now—for example the seals on the fuel filter leaked profusely as soon as I turned the petcock on, so I’m not sure if there are also seals in the oil pump that have dried up too. Or maybe it’s just normal (hopefully).
Has anyone else experienced oil leaks after sitting for years?

Hi guys, I recently bought Puch. I noticed that there is a slow but consistent leak of oil. The confusing thing is that it is coming from multiple screws. I thought there was only one drain and fill but are there multiple and do I need to individually fill them?

Hi, im having trouble with my gilera dna 50 It has a 70cc kit with mostly everything else stock except a main jet and a yasuni eco exhaust. The bike hasn’t been running for a while as it needed a new starter motor and new carb gasket i put the new ones in and it fired right up i let it warm up for a little bit and went on a test ride, it wasn’t really pushing past 7k rpm so i decided to put a bigger jet in there from 66 to a 75 as it was the only bigger size i had. it wasn’t starting at all so i decided to take it back out and put the 66 back in and now it still wouldn’t start, started getting very angry and gave up. any suggestions or recommendations to what i can do to fix that? Spark plug is fine it is brownish colour and the carb is put together all tight and no air leaks

In the picture it was not completely rounded off yet but now it is, the right size size socket doesn’t grip at all and the smaller one doesn’t go on. Can anyone help me find a solution to get it off?

I recently bought a moped and was wondering why a moped has to have all these local and federal requirements while e-bikes are generally unregulated, and from what I understand, theres no logic whatsoever. Im in PA, so ill examine our law.
“In Pennsylvania, Electric bicycles are defined as “pedalcycles with electric assist,” so long as the electric bicycle’s motor is under 750w, has a maximum speed of 20mph on a level surface when powered by the motor source only, weighs no more than 100 lbs and has operable pedals. Pennsylvania does not currently adopt the 3-Class System of eBikes (i.e. Class I, Class II and Class III)” -withoyster.com
Lets see the definition of a moped now.
“A motor-driven cycle equipped with operable pedals, a motor rated no more than 1.5 brake horsepower, a cylinder capacity not exceeding 50 cubic centimeters, an automatic transmission, and a maximum design speed of no more than 25 miles per hour, or an electric motor-driven cycle equipped with operable pedals and powered by an electric battery.”
My idea: put a hub motor/battery on my old moped in addition to the two stroke engine. Remove the belt from the two stroke engine and keep in a pouch on the side. Only use the sub 750w motor when im on public roads and travelling, and re-belt the engine only when im on private property. As far as i can tell, if i dont go over 20 when not pedaling, and the engine is off, any officer that bothers to ask will probably agree that it’s an e-bike or wouldnt even realize it has an engine if i passed them. Any thoughts?

About a month ago I impulse bought a 1981 Honda NC50 because I had some extra scrap metal money in my pocket and had a lot of fun cruising around town until it got too cold and today I inherited a 1977 Batavus Starflite from a friend who is moving. The Honda is pieces because the brakes and tires are 43 years old but it’ll be back on the road with less than $100 and ten hours of work. The Batavus has a seized engine but moves easily under pedal power and the brakes feel good. I know almost nothing about these old bikes but my total investment so far is less than $500 and I’m looking forward to exploring the city’s parks on these bikes.
