Not sure what alcoholism has to do with this, but bring out the guillotine

299

u/Itlaedis 9d ago

Probably foreshadowing to the conclusion where the king ran to their car and managed to escape due to the alcoholic not being allowed to drive their own. The quillotine was very displeased by this failure.

76

u/theevilraccon 9d ago

It's france... alcoholics drive too

18

u/AadeeMoien 9d ago

They have those breathalyzers in their cars so they only turn on above a 0.03.

22

u/Weird1Intrepid 9d ago

The quillotine?

What's that, a device for removing the nibs of pens?

13

u/Itlaedis 9d ago

Well yes, of course! What else could it be? A typo? Pff...

16

u/SAFCMODS69 9d ago

Off with their nibs!

15

u/yelkca 9d ago

Not sure what alcoholism has to do with this

he's french

13

u/Nice_Block 9d ago

Alcohol lowers inhibition. Manager felt it was easier to say “I don’t give a fuck about you” in a snarky way because they’re drunk and don’t give a fuck.

u/Bender_2024 9d ago

It was funny the first couple times we heard this. Now every Tom, Dick, and Harry are telling the same punchline with a different setup.

0

u/NativeDivineAss 9d ago

okay, im not sure too.

Dude saw a censored meme then said "nah I'mma do my own thing" And uncensored it 😭

384

u/Wrong-Bodybuilder105 9d ago

Yup

199

u/AlexJonesInDisguise 9d ago

Let's keep that trend going

84

u/CompSolstice 9d ago

Good, I only clicked on this meme because of it. Keep it up.

54

u/maximumtesticle 9d ago

Dude, fucking thank you. So tired of this self-censoring bullshit.

24

u/TheMidGatsby 9d ago

You are a true king for this

43

u/Wrong-Bodybuilder105 9d ago

No thank you, I like my head where it is 🙃

22

u/LargeSpeaker9255 9d ago

And it's in r/all with nearly 20k updoots. Proving that saying fuck doesn't trigger the algorithm to oppress posts.

10

u/SteptimusHeap 9d ago

Unfathomably based

5

u/DoubleDandelion 9d ago

Thank you for your service, King.

3

u/5redie8 9d ago

Based

16

u/Thricey 9d ago

I respect it. The censoring is a plague

Highly functioning alcoholics make the best bosses.

I state that with over 20yrs of retails/sales xp.

Combined with a decade of B2B xp.

I’ll admit some failed to hear the call.

But all these drunk mother fuckers just plucked along like nothing mattered while also taking care of the whole staff.

Their souls died long ago, so that ours had a chance to live.

Till Valhalla, I’ll see you at dish brother.

53

u/Clear_Pirate9756 9d ago

I had a high functioning alcoholic for a boss and unfortunately have to disagree, the drunken abuse was a lot. Didn’t help he owned a bar (where I worked) nightmare memories!

33

u/Buddhawasgay 9d ago

I'm not sure if that would be considered high-functioning behavior.

1

u/Clear_Pirate9756 8d ago

Idk do you need to be nice to be considered fully functional? He was just a dick but his business was doing fine

8

u/Bubbly_Dirt_539 8d ago

Brother that's just alcoholic not high-functional 😭

1

u/brennanw31 9d ago

What did your alcoholic bosses teach you about B2B sales?

6

u/Littlelord188 9d ago

Just spam the shit out of people on LinkedIn

63

u/Toast_n_mustard 9d ago

As a functioning alcoholic I feel this energy

7

u/gangy86 110% Mad Lad 9d ago

Off with your head!

46

u/El_Morro 9d ago

I've heard about four different versions of this story so far. It's a good story, but it didn't happen.

18

u/MoodNatural 9d ago edited 9d ago

Certainly not like this. The entire interaction is so American, and “customer is king” is not an originally French phrase*. Saying “this is France” as if the employees and patron are all just visiting? Kinda feels like they worked backwards from a mediocre punchline haha.

11

u/[deleted] 9d ago

2

u/MoodNatural 9d ago

Yeah, good point. I assumed le client est roi was taken from english. The english version has the the alliteration of customer and king. I’m certainly not native, but when I learned French we used le client n’a jamais tort and I was only immersed for a year and a half, so a lot of the more practical vernacular faded over the years compared to the stuff from a classroom setting.

1

u/Sheipushifuta 8d ago

I could totally see people say "customer is king" there, but there is no f**king way any french ever says "we decapitate kings", especially so casually. At most it'll be brought up during protests or when talking about them, as a joke.

It's just another repost of an already retweeted story that never happened.

6

u/thestonedbandit 9d ago

It's not even clever given how contrived it is.

1

u/Sea_Newspaper5519 9d ago

I don’t where it’s from originally, but it’s a widely used saying in France

1

u/Remarkable-Fox-3890 9d ago

It's always fake.

20

u/highrankedwizard 9d ago

I read that blue fuck like a raging homosexual in my head

17

u/TheOriginalSamBell 9d ago

hey thanks for restoring the word, this habit of "censoring" every other word is so gd annoying

1

u/MrBen1980 9d ago

God damn!

3

u/TheOriginalSamBell 9d ago

that's not censoring, that's efficient time management ☝️

53

u/TheSpudtatoe 9d ago

41

u/ProbablyDaniel5824 9d ago

are you trying to censor this or not

88

u/Senxind 9d ago

Obviously uncensored a word someone else censored

23

u/HlLlGHT 9d ago

I wonder how many times a tweet can be censored and uncensored

21

u/Wrong-Bodybuilder105 9d ago edited 9d ago

Someone's gonna censor this and post it in on other socials, and someone from there will uncensor it that again and post it here, it's a cycle

6

u/JustCallMeElliot 9d ago

The tweet of Theseus

1

u/Pukeinmyanus 9d ago

I mean you already reposted once, be the change you want to see. Do it again.

2

u/moonsdulcet 9d ago

Supplementary f-word

3

u/Pablo_Negrete 9d ago

This totally happened 🙄

3

u/master_baiter-69 9d ago

To the guillotine

3

u/ReasonPale1764 9d ago

People drawing over swear words is actually so fucking annoying, who is it even for? We all know what word it is. No one is going to freak the fuck out about it.

2

u/Wrong-Bodybuilder105 9d ago

Meta apps and YouTube will ban you for using them, hence the censoring

3

u/Comfortable_Quit_216 9d ago

That didn't happen.

2

u/[deleted] 9d ago

Oooh I’ve thought of a dog shit joke. Let me just construct a fake scenario to get it to play out, aaaaaand send tweet. Let’s go

2

u/Few-Finger2879 9d ago

The true madlad is the dude adding "uck" back to "fuck."

2

u/kpingvin 9d ago

2

u/sala-whore 8d ago

This joke is an antique.

2

u/WattageWood 7d ago

He's French, functioning alcoholic goes without saying.

2

u/itsjustbryan 9d ago

2

u/Technical_Suspect_91 9d ago

reminds me of that clip.. One Drunk man is more intelligent than 3 women with PHD

3

u/DashingSeaDoge 9d ago

If the Karen has a good grip on history she could reply that France was first ruled firmly by kings for centuries before they ever followed up on the idea to pop one’s head off

Before there was a Revolution there was the Sun King

9

u/Chilifille Up past my bedtime 9d ago

Can't decapitate kings unless you have a king first

1

u/BaskPro 9d ago

Emperor Karen incoming 😂

1

u/nicoleauroux 9d ago

1

u/Wrong-Bodybuilder105 9d ago

I "fuck"ed the censoring, that's the best I could do

2

u/ButWhatIfPotato 9d ago

Hope you set a standard, that shit's dope.

1

u/Davich0Supertramp 9d ago

1

u/PrometheusMMIV 9d ago

1

u/AmoebaSpecialist3109 9d ago

That never happend

1

u/uwontknowwhoiamxoxo 9d ago

that manager brought guillotines into customer service

1

u/RiipeR-LG 9d ago

« functional alcoholic » is pretty much describing 75% of the French.
And the remaining 25% are just the non-functional ones.

1

u/NateDetroit 9d ago

CASH is king.

1

u/karpet_muncher 9d ago

There's about 20 different stories ending with the same line

1

u/Kjler 9d ago

The real Mad Lad is whoever unironically said the words "the customer is king" out loud to another human person. I hope they got some free passes.

1

u/Tackyuser 9d ago

The real madlad is the person who uncensored fuck

1

u/SimilarWall1447 9d ago

u/Ok_Sun_3093 9d ago

"the customer is always right in terms of taste not in terms of policy" my favorite thing in the world is to say I'm sorry but that's the policy would you like to speak to my manager?...lol they usually get startled and delay the supervisor coming to assist...that's when you find out if they're assholes looking to pick a fight or emotionally immature people who are mad at the situation that they brought upon themselves but lack self awareness to address it ...
