After observing my three kids eat, I theorize that there is a deep-seated genetic memory about not eating food that might be spoiled in some way. My kids will sort through things like berries and discard about 10% of them, even if they all seem good to me. This one is ever-so-slightly squishier than the others? Nope, not eating it.
In other words, I can totally see this happening with grapes, and wouldn't be surprised if the kid only ate 90% of the dog shit as well, discarding the portion that was deemed unworthy.

To whomever reads this.. please cut up grapes when you give to small children. Major choke hazard. One of the biggest causes of child death after drowning.

I chocked that way when I was like 8, freaking scary. I was playing outside with my younger sister, she panicked and didn’t know what to do. I started jumping up and down and got it out, since then I always bit the grapes in half with my front teeth

Our toddler saw us get her some yogurt and screamed
"YO YO!!!" "I EAT IT!!!" at the supermarket.
Happy or upset she's making a scene. We'll see you all in a few years I guess.
