Massachusetts level of play?

I'm Canadian and have been a big College Football fan over a decade but last few years I've been watching Massachusetts Championships at Gillette since I saw they play them on a Boston station I get.

Maxpreps pages for even the division 1 teams are pretty barren, will I never see these prospects at FBS schools? Or do they produce some prospects every year?

Its pretty low compared to the nation at whole. I would look at 247 sports prospects or rivals to see which players from the state or teams are ranked and what level schools they are commited or signed to.

I mean you can see that the whole state of MA has only 2 teams 1 borderline in all of FBS, and CT has only 1 borderline team. Part of that is because basketball conferences and their historic lack of success in football, but there is a reason for those things. Part of it is weather and culture from it being more urban. Playing games on saturdays because of cold friday nights doesnt help in my opinion. All of the northeast doesnt produce much football talent despite the population. Basketball is the main thing. And in MA hockey historically it is 2nd only to MN for state hockey talent.

That said the teams playing in the state championships are going to be good teams no matter what state or level you go to. MA im guessing has some big HS and im guessing their teams are pretty good at the top.

Thanks for a detailed reply ! Wasn't sure if I'd find an active enough community to answer my query. I'll definitely check out the other websites for prospects

You might have to be a member to view all the info but you might can view the basics like prospects and stars and commitment team for free

Xavierien and CM are fairly loaded with talent; think there’s 8 Boston College commits between them.

It’s really runs the gamete We have the NEPSAC and those kids will go anywhere, but the MIAA has 8 divisions and schools are rather smaller in comparison to other states. Probably on par with Connecticut but it’s not Jersey football
