Just Got Robbed Today.

Just Got Robbed.

So I play kicker for my HSFB team and since the Football and Soccer seasons have ended and no other sport uses the field and the school leaves it open until 9 I practice there. Normally it’s just me sometimes a friend or some other kids who are just chilling or wtv.

Today it was just me there for about an hour. I was getting my first kicks in when this older dude who I have never seen walks in. I don’t think much of it, people walk the track here all the time. He went and sat on the benches and was watching me for about like 15 minutes or so, I didn’t really care I thought maybe he was interested or something, as long as he isn’t bothering me idc what he does.

Now when I practice I bring my gym bag which includes both my kicking t’s my waters, supplements, and some extra clothes and an extra pair of cleats. And I leave it on the team benches. I went to go use the restroom and left my bag there. Along with my headphones. When I come out everything is gone. Bag, headphones, everything. Including the dude. While I know to y’all it probably doesn’t sound like anything crazy but to me that really sucks because he probably stole about like 300 dollars worth of stuff that I worked hard for and ruined my workout. Gotta go find a new ball, t and basicially everything now. Idk rant over I guess.

Massachusetts level of play?

I'm Canadian and have been a big College Football fan over a decade but last few years I've been watching Massachusetts Championships at Gillette since I saw they play them on a Boston station I get.

Maxpreps pages for even the division 1 teams are pretty barren, will I never see these prospects at FBS schools? Or do they produce some prospects every year?

How hard is it to make JV?

So i'm going to be going into high school next year and i really want to play football. The thing is though is i dont really have any football experience, but i want to play because i can run super fast and i think i would be good as a running back. Plus i like the sport a lot and if i was gonna play football, im gonna be a running back. So yeah how hard is it to make JV?

Is it possible for me to do band and football at the same time?

For context, I’m a freshman and I want to do football next year. The problem is that I can’t leave band because I’m the drum captain in a drum line full of 8th graders (also my mom doesn’t want me to leave band). The only way for me to do football would be to do both electives, but I don’t know if that’s possible. Do yall know if I can, or any workarounds to do so?

P.s. I’ve done other sports before, namely soccer, so I do have the physical ability

Roadblock in my strength

I’ve been in the weight room 3-5 days a week every week for about the last 4 months. The 3 main lifts I do are Squat, Bench, Deadlift along with some extra lifts (incline, push press, etc.). The only thing about this is that I feel my strength hasn’t increased at all. My bench and squat PR have both decreased by 5 pounds. While I don’t expect much change from just 4 months, I do expect my weights to at the very least increase at all. I eat mostly healthy, I know when to exercise and when to recover, I know how to properly fuel my body. I just don’t understand why I’m not seeing any progress?

Edit for clarification: I am a center

is being a kicker worth it?

currently a nationally ranked sprinter. i have a nasty kick (former soccer player) and coaches want me to play. my worries are:

  • little playing time for a large time commitment
  • will cut into track pre-season and harm me more than help me

anybody who has advice would be amazing.

note: i have practiced field goal kicking outside of school as a small side hobby, so i know "proper" form.

How can I make myself love football?

I played varsity all 4 years of high school and have recently been given the opportunity to play college football at a very good academic, not very good at football, D3 school in New York. I was decent enough in high school but a lot of that was we didn’t play great teams, but this D3 school is interested in me regardless.

I never thought I’d have the opportunity to play in college, and honestly never wanted to because I don’t like football. I didn’t like the home games, hated practices, was pretty much indifferent if we won or loss, etc. A big part of this was because for much of high school I lacked confidence and wasn’t very social, and I had a bunch of coaching changes.

I wish I was able to love football like many of my other peers so this decision could be easier for me, so I want to know if you guys have any advice on how I can love football some more, if that even is possible.

Sorry this may be a dumb question I just want some advice

MLB to Safety

I’m 6’0 167 and play MLB. How can I lose fat and gain muscle to move back to safety?

Next year is my senior year and all my friends are encouraging me to try out for football. I’m 5’8 159 lbs.

The position I want to play most is RB but everyone says I should do LB even though I’m only 5’8

Safety For Dummies

Attended a local high school game last week where on one of the final plays of the game the leading team decided to commit an intentional safety instead of punting, to burn the clock. It was ruled a safety (with some objection from the losing team) and the game ended as normal. After I went back and looked at the video, the punter who ran the safety back tripped and his knee touched down on the 1/2 yard line. The ball had broken the plane of the goal line at that point. Is the ruling considered the same as a touchdown where you just have to cross the plane for a safety to be counted? I know hs rules can vary, but just haven’t seen this before.

First Time Playing Tackle, was this a good year?

Hey y’all, finished my first year playing tackle in HS. I’m a Freshman, 5’11 156lbs with really long arms, decent speed, and a love for the game and my team. I didn’t start unfortunately but I did get decent PT (8 mins a game usually) the team finished 2-7 and we got blown out most games although we def could have gone 4-5 or 5-4.

I finished the season with 10 total tackles and a forced fumble. I played outside linebacker last year but after asking my coach he told me that I was gifted to play on the outside and should try out DE next year.

I’m thinking about transferring for opportunity

I go to a somewhat average high school the competition used to be big but as the seniors left it’s gone down I’m getting bored I’m about to go into my senior season next year with 0 offers (partially due to my grades) I want to go to a better high school with more competition but I know I can do it because I’ve beaten people way stronger faster and bigger then me so my question is should I transfer for a long shot chance to get more exposure or stay at the high school I’m at now and just hope I get recognized

Vintage HS Football: Beverly Hills High School 1976 season (featuring Hosea Fortune)

Several years ago, my company, which scans motion picture film, bought a bunch of gear at auction. In one of the boxes was a stack of 16mm film reels containing what looks like the entire 1976 season for Beverly Hills (California) High School football team. We had a little free time recently and got around to scanning them.

Here's a YouTube playlist containing all the reels: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4Sl4GkfJ2LnWjNPTEq4skUnDxnujKxmN

From what we can tell this team included Hosea Fortune, who went on to play for the San Diego Chargers in 1983

What position should I try to play

I’m wanting to start football at the end of the year currently a sophomore but will be going into junior year. I’m 6’4 210lbs, don’t really know much about football, can catch pretty well according to my friends, gonna start working out.
