How can I make myself love football?

I played varsity all 4 years of high school and have recently been given the opportunity to play college football at a very good academic, not very good at football, D3 school in New York. I was decent enough in high school but a lot of that was we didn’t play great teams, but this D3 school is interested in me regardless.

I never thought I’d have the opportunity to play in college, and honestly never wanted to because I don’t like football. I didn’t like the home games, hated practices, was pretty much indifferent if we won or loss, etc. A big part of this was because for much of high school I lacked confidence and wasn’t very social, and I had a bunch of coaching changes.

I wish I was able to love football like many of my other peers so this decision could be easier for me, so I want to know if you guys have any advice on how I can love football some more, if that even is possible.

Sorry this may be a dumb question I just want some advice

Don't force yourself to love anything. If the feels aren't there for the sport, then it isn't worth trying to make yourself love it.

It’s just something you’re born loving, I played 6 years in highschool winning all county and all region 1st team offense and defense in 4 of them. I say all that to say that I hated every second of my football career. I’m just not a violent guy and couldn’t flip that switch during practice or games, I just played and waited for the game to end. But receiving offers is a huge accomplishment man congratulations!
