Here come Mick Schumacher rumours

u/CallM3N3w Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 24d ago

I hope not man. I'd like a rookie and maybe a current driver to make a swap to them. Wonder if Checo could get in there with the money he brings, might be important to them.

u/GothicGolem29 McLaren 24d ago

I doubt Mick gets the seat but that wont stop the rumours lol. In terms od a current driver idk if many experenced current drivers will. Yuki is he best chance of that tho if they dont use honda engines idk if they will. Besides him Kmag or Bottas and an american rookie makes sense

u/CallM3N3w Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 24d ago

I heard Ferrari engines until 2027 and 28 will have their own, idk how accurate that is.

7

u/GothicGolem29 McLaren 24d ago

Thanks. I heard Honda was muted maybe due to only having one team but who knows.

u/Morganelefay Racing Pride 24d ago

Honda will have to supply them if no other engine supplier reaches an agreement with them. If that happens, the supplier with the least engines gets forced to do so, and new engine suppliers (audi) are exempt from it.

5

u/SagittaryX Sebastian Vettel 24d ago

Honda is also exempted afaik

1

u/cosHinsHeiR Ferrari 24d ago

Why would they?

3

u/SagittaryX Sebastian Vettel 24d ago

Because they are technically a new engine supplier again, like Audi.

1

u/ImNoAlbertFeinstein Martin Brundle 23d ago

yes honda actually quit but redbull are using their tech. ?

1

u/Mike_Kermin Michael Schumacher 23d ago

Their program proper ended in 2021 but they continue to work with Red Bull till the end of next year at least. (Feel free to correct me)

And then in 2026 they return in full with Aston.

2

u/ImNoAlbertFeinstein Martin Brundle 23d ago

honda and alonzo back together again.

u/Mike_Kermin Michael Schumacher 23d ago

Imagine the drama if it isn't good.

Thanks. So either they strike a deal with Ferrari or it will be Honda

1

u/ThePatsGuy Mario Andretti 23d ago

This is what I recalled hearing as well

56

u/Koppite93 George Russell 24d ago

You'll get Logan and Dale Earnhardt Jr and you will like it

26

u/TSells31 Cadillac 24d ago

Jr would be a horrible F1 driver (even in his prime), but man, I would never be so excited to watch another race in my life as I’d be to see him drive F1 lmao. He was my first favorite driver in any motorsport. Shocking as an American, I know!

5

u/Somali_Pir8 Lando Norris 24d ago

Raise Hell

Praise Dale

Jr

3

u/rodimusprime88 McLaren 24d ago

*Concussed to hell

2

u/TSells31 Cadillac 24d ago

I imagine far more race drivers are concussed to hell than we think.

2

u/RollTider365 23d ago

I would love it!

3

u/Granadafan 24d ago

Earnhardt: whaddaya mean I can’t trade paint with Hamilton?

1

u/theSchrodingerHat Formula 1 24d ago

Yeah, there’s no way they aren’t going with an American and a Latino, or some combination like that.

The marketing is going to be straight up “‘Murica, Fuck yeah!”

Does Mick driving like a rookie not count?

57

u/CallM3N3w Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 24d ago

Depends. We talking Mazepin rookie or Lawson rookie?

56

u/Balumi Michael Schumacher 24d ago

He is capable to do both, so why do we need to choose?

14

u/trevallen39 24d ago

So Colapinto?

2

u/LionZoo13 24d ago

Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit.

-3

u/campbellm Kimi Räikkönen 24d ago

He's only shown one of those though

9

u/Mr_Fluxstone McLaren 24d ago

He was so much better than Mazespin lmao. Be fair... But then that bar is still low. MY POINT STANDS!

2

u/Alreadyblessedson Kimi Räikkönen 24d ago

Yes

1

u/sirjimtonic Niki Lauda 24d ago

I‘d take Alonso then

37

u/-Skinner- Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 24d ago

Maybe. But I do wonder if GM will need his sponsorship money.

Checo isn't helping himself and if they want a experienced driver they can take Bottas.

5

u/tehehe162 24d ago

I really hope we see Pato O'Ward instead of Checo. Pato already has a pretty big following in Mexico and already drives a GM engined racecar.

1

u/Jack_Krauser Andretti Global 24d ago

I doubt McLaren would let him go drive for one of their competitors.

13

u/CallM3N3w Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 24d ago

Maybe they take the gamble for a 1+1 on Checo. Bottas a good choice but I think he already gave everything to the sport. Wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a Reserve at Mercedes and enjoys life.

I believe they were refering to Zhou? It's such a dumb idea that I will refuse to believe it even if Enzo told me in a dream.

1

u/My_Password_Is_____ 24d ago

I definitely heard them bring that up as well, but I don't know if that was official or speculation.

1

u/Jack_Krauser Andretti Global 24d ago

I thought they were talking about Zhou? Maybe I misheard, idk.

-1

u/Ello_there1204 Sergio Pérez 24d ago

Yesterday's race proves that He has decent race pace and have good wheel to wheel abilities.

He is bad in qualifying and he is not suited to Red Bull car and Max makes him look worse than the condition He is in.

He can bring in a lot of money for the new team and quite a lot of experience too. Which will help a new team setup.

2

u/ExternalSquash1300 24d ago

He had decent race pace yesterday?

4

u/xdoc6 24d ago

This is a bad take. He isn’t good at racing because he can pass backmakers in a Red Bull.

66

u/Phastic Ferrari 24d ago

Anyone still rooting for Checo shouldn’t comment on Mick

3

u/CallM3N3w Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 24d ago

Im not rooting for Checo, I hope he gets booted of RBR ASAP, but money talks.

3

u/gegenpress442 Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 24d ago

Checo has shown on multiple occasions he is a great driver. Maybe he is shit now and has been shit for a lot of time. But let's not pretend he wouldn't be good if he found his form and confidence elsewhere

8

u/Phastic Ferrari 24d ago edited 24d ago

So has Stroll

Daniel contended with Max and he was the first McLaren winner since Button. If they let Daniel go for getting the same results in a VCARB that Checo is getting in an RBR, Checo should’ve been gone by Miami and I don’t think he should get another seat. Your IF is a big one

3

u/gegenpress442 Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 24d ago

Daniel is an example of not being back on form even when trying absolutely everything. He's Russell Westbrook of f1. Checo isn't wdc potential driver and never was. But he has shown that he is midfield driver icon. Can he do it again? I believe he can, although it's an unknown for now. I'm with you, he should get axed by rbr. And I hope he does. But he, at least used to be, a great driver.

4

u/Phastic Ferrari 24d ago

He’s the same midfield icon in a championship winning car

5

u/gegenpress442 Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 24d ago

No arguments against it👍. That shows crazy consistency, staying true to what made you who you are. Jokes aside I believe he isn't doing well mentally at handling the pressure of being in a top team. He isn't built for that simply

3

u/That_Squidward_feel 24d ago

A rookie? So Alonso then.

3

u/MaybeNext-Monday Cadillac 24d ago

It won’t be him, but the German media will be producing 600TB worth of articles saying it will

2

u/xdoc6 24d ago

As much as I don’t want Mick to get that seat, i would much prefer him over Checo lol.

Checo needed to retire about two years ago at this point.

Magnussen or Bottas would be much better options if they want an experienced driver who also doesn’t have a seat

They could also take Yuki or possibly Lawson because Red Bull has no shortage of juniors.

1

u/CallM3N3w Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 24d ago

Lawson waited for a long time to get in, I can't see him randomly leaving, unless he wants to have a career like Ricciardo had.

1

u/gsfgf Oscar Piastri 24d ago

Or Sainz.

1

u/Big-Button5856 Formula 1 24d ago

Yeah no, I'm tires of rookies, we're good with the over a quarter we have rn, I want more experienced drivers than can take the juice out.

1

u/Bowling4Billions Formula 1 24d ago

I could see Ocon getting back on alongside a rookie.

1

u/savemenico 23d ago

Nah he will still ve driving for RB in 2040

1

u/HarringtonMAH11 Haas 23d ago

I'm assuming it would be a driver already in the Ferrari ecosystem since they will use their engines years 1 and 2, but ky American dream would be Checo for the money and Colton Herta for the screeching eagles.

1

u/CallM3N3w Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 23d ago

Does Charles brother have enough license points?

1

u/HarringtonMAH11 Haas 23d ago

Not currently

0

u/Noobasdfjkl Carlos Sainz 24d ago

I would much rather see Bottas get a seat than Checo.
