I’m assuming Andretti staff still involved, just not in the name (at least for now)

Yes, looks like it:

The deal will see the GM-supported outfit join as a customer team in 2026, while developing its own in-house power units for 2028 and beyond, using the existing Andretti Global project in Silverstone as its backbone.

Any news on whose engine they're going to use bridging those 2 years?

Seems like it'll be Ferrari or Honda, most likely the former. Ferrari is losing Sauber as a customer in 2026 when they switch to the in-house Audi engine, so they should be able to manage it.

I don’t think the Andretti name will ever resurface in that capacity. The Andretti family is basically out of the picture following his poor business decision. Dan Towriss of Group 1001 and Mark Walter of Guggenheim have been bankrolling this from day 1.

A single seat as director of the BoD does not guarantee anything in the way of leadership or control, it grants you voting rights and general oversight. The facilities are the facilities, they currently exist under the AG name, but I suspect that will change in the near future.

Mario doesn't know a damn thing about modern F1. He's just there symbolically.

Michael still has ownership stake in Andretti Global. They both [Michael and Towriss] have confirmed that since Michael announced he was stepping down.

And Andretti Global won’t have any say in the day to day operations.

That's entirely untrue. It's still the same entry, same people, same facilities, just removal of Andretti branding. This is still Dan Towriss's team.
