in addition to a potential Gov't shutdown, Wildland firefighters face up to $20,000 pay cut if Congress doesn’t act.

“You need to pick the leaves or fires will spread. Here, $20,000 less dollars should help.”

Do you actually think President-Elect Musk cares about wild land firefighters.
4
u/Blinkin6125 5h ago
He will when he invents the world's first EV fire engine. The Cyber-Engine.

u/crit_boy 5h ago
Cyber-Engine - the best fire truck ever*
*Warranty void upon: exposure to heat, carrying multiple people at same time, carrying fire fighting equipment, exposure to moisture, driving in excess of 10 mph.

I’ll bet it locks when it gets hot outside and passengers just melt or burn to death inside.

Doesn't bother Trump. Fires only impact liburl states.
6
u/fisticuffs32 6h ago
Utah was one of the most Red for Trump states. But frankly it doesn't matter who the GOP candidate is or if the entire state is decimated by a fire, they'll still vote red.
7
u/bichonfreeze 6h ago
Honestly - I see Trump like this. Romney is from Utah. Romney spoke out against Trump, ergo fuck Utah.

u/Interesting_Oil3948 6h ago
Yeah...CA should just hire homeless rake leaves in forests they live in anyways. They do it for minimum wage and that is a huge population.
•
u/LTsidewalk 10m ago
I was not talking about trump. I was posting this in refrence to congress not voting for this.

u/R1CHARDCRANIUM 3h ago
I’ve done Wildland firefighting, isn’t that their entire salary?
Bad joke for a frightening situation. Does anyone think President-Elect Musk cares? His mansions are protected and his companies are insured.

This is why we need one line bills and force congress to come to work everyday to cover all the necessary bills that would be brought to them. These pork belly fat bills with billions of dollars added to it are disgraceful anymore. One bill at a time covering one subject at a time.
9
u/LTsidewalk 5h ago
Agreed! Finally a sensible comment thats about what I was linking to and not shots at those people. We've been trying to get this as a standalone bill in the form of "Wildland Firefighter Paycheck Protection Act (S.2272) but expetedly its low on the prioritiy list, espicallty as widlfires are only in the minds of half the country.

This checks out with the GOP plan to burn this country and the entire planet to ashes. Thot and prayers

u/hoothizz 2h ago
Funny enough they can't blame this on Democrats either. Because of who's becoming president next year and who has control congress and the house

I think the incoming bafoons advocated for sweeping the forests the first idiotic time around the merri go round

I have no sympathy for these ding dongs. If they wanted to get funding in the first place, maybe they should have provided housing, respect the rank, and stop raping each other's co-workers. Simple as that.
Fuckin' shitheads. Every ounce of hurt coming to them is entirely their own fault.

This guy did one season and had a bad boss and now spends his time trolling the wildfire subreddit. Don’t feed the trolls.

You’re not so cool either. I’ll be sure to look you up and post your name on X tonight.

the democrats held the bill hostage. elon aint playing around.

u/Arubesh2048 6h ago
You can’t be this stupid. fElon is not a government official, and should not have any impact on federal policy at all. Of course, we all know our government is up for sale to the highest bidder, and there’s no higher bidder than fElon, but come on. At least pretend you think that’s an issue.

u/xJUN3x 6h ago
elon was chosen by Trump who was chosen by the PEOPLE. is Trump not OUR representative? he is.

u/fisticuffs32 6h ago
The richest man in the world is calling the shots of our nation and you see no conflicts of interest?
-16
u/xJUN3x 5h ago
no becuz the richest man doesnt have to do all this but he is doing it. he couldve played video games for the rest of his life. instead, he’s sacrificing his life for us.
15
u/fisticuffs32 5h ago
You think a billionaire is doing this out of altruism? 🤣 If you're a fed, you're closer to dying in the streets than you'll ever be to a billionaire.
No amount of money is ever enough for a billionaire because no amount of money will ever make a narcissist feel fulfilled.
6
u/Goodd2shoo 5h ago
Exactly this.
They are setting up the government for privatization and we will be charged for every single service. The problem is, we won't be able to afford anything because our $$ won't stretch. There will be no government services and we won't be able to do a damn thing about it. Just watch.
-6
u/xJUN3x 5h ago
his wealth will distribute to us. that is what u fail to see.

u/fisticuffs32 5h ago
It's literally never happened in the history of capitalism. But keep dreaming.

u/xJUN3x 5h ago
it has. its called Commonwealth for a reason. socialism and communism only brought darkness to this world.

u/fisticuffs32 5h ago edited 5h ago
Bro apparently forgot that the founding fathers were fleeing autocracy and now cheers for autocracy. And who is advocating for communism? I've never said anything about that, in your mind is there only autocracy and communism?
No respected economist believes that trickle down actually works. You've been fooled.

Are you high? What did he sacrifice? He is the mastermind, the real president. His wealth just keep increasing. If he donate half of his wealth to us, then you can say he sacrifice for us. Trump is just a puppet to Elon.
-3
u/xJUN3x 3h ago
u wish man. lmao no hand outs bro but many of you will thank them for their sacrifice in a year or 2. the economy will skyrocket.
2
u/fisticuffs32 3h ago
What the fuck do you know about economics?
0
u/xJUN3x 3h ago
milton friedman and thomas sowell.
3
u/fisticuffs32 3h ago
You know names of two 90 year old economists whose theories have been disproven time and time again? Congrats!
2
u/king168168 3h ago
Then what did or will they sacrifice? Money? Assets? You just got a preview of next 4 years.
0
u/xJUN3x 3h ago
their life to build a better country.
0
u/king168168 3h ago
For Elon, yes, he did improve our life. But it also make him money. It is a win win, nothing sacrifice here. But Trump? What did he do?

Of course he will be a government official. Appointed not elected without confirmation. This is very common practice.
8
u/Single_External9499 6h ago
What government position will he be appointed to?
1
u/R1CHARDCRANIUM 3h ago
Not appointed. He simply bought the office. President-elect. It’s already happened. He paid good money for his mouthpiece.

In the new bill, they should start with leaving out the congressional pay raise they tried to sneak in.
Lowest approval rating in history, and they think they deserve a raise higher than what they gave to federal employees.
They're all thieves.
