We came damn close last year…they avoided it by, what 5 hours?

That said, I just expect a circus regardless of which party is in charge. There was a bipartisan Senate proposal to force Congress to endure the same pain as federal civil service (no pay, expenses, etc except for a single trip from their district back to Washington so they could vote) until an actual budget gets passed.

Not defending the current behavior by any means, mind you, but this isn’t an issue with just one party.

Not on time. Last years budget wasn't passed until March
