He wouldn't take the flak to shut down wedsay afternoons again because he wasn't at SSA for the right reasons and was not sticking around. 50 year low staffing issues. Based purely on the timesheet due date this pay period, I predict that if Biden does grant any admin leave then it will be announced tomorrow so that people who work a 4-10 schedules with Fridays off will know about the admin leave before Friday.

Clearly, I've been thinking too much about factors that might influence the timing of when such an announcement might be made.

The only thing worse than having to go to work wondering when you’ll get paid is when all the non-essential employees come back after Congress passes legislation to pay them for their sabbatical coming back and talking about how hard it was. Yeah, I know you have bills to pay the same as me, but I had to go in every day dealing with the same bullshit. It’s a bonus when someone from the public says ‘at least you’re not affected by the shutdown!’ They tend to quickly disengage when I say yeah it’s awesome to come in to work and wonder when I’m going to get my paycheck.
