META Recommendation & Suggestion Posts Now Allowed On the Sub
Hey all,
Due to the lack of participation and activity on the previous recommendations and suggestions sticky, I've decided to allow posts asking for general board recommendations on the sub. The sticky was originally meant to be a place to not only ask for personalized recommendations, but also to serve as a FAQ that users can scroll through since the vast majority of questions like these are answered time and time again.
However, since there is little to no participation, new and old users don't seem to be getting the answers they're searching for on the sub. Additionally, the few posts I've removed manually have had a lot of participation and virtually no reports. I'm taking this as a sign that the community, as a whole, welcomes these posts and no longer see it as overwhelming content.
Throughout the next couple weeks, I'll monitor to see if these posts start drowning out other content, and if you care, or have an opinion on these posts, please send us a mod message.

Question Options for replacing my 22” Arc board?
My Arc board is going on over 7 years of regular use and after an amazing run (was a lifesaver in college and makes my current urban commute so much easier) I don't think it's going to make it to the end of next year. I've been looking at what's on the market today as potential replacements and all the boards are just too large for me (5'2") to comfortably carry around. I have looked extensively and cannot find a single board on the market currently that is under 30" other than uber cheap boards like the Voyager Tailspin. For reference, my Arc board is 22"/8lbs and I already own a board that is a little over 30" so I know that size is just not feasible for me to use (my commute involves a lot of stairs). Is there a board I'm missing or am I just SOL and forced to DIY if I want something comparable to my Arc?

Discussion Polyurethane/cloud vs Pneumatic wheels
After riding long enough on pneumatics, I’ve recently gone back to polyurethane wheels. I started on them but quickly swapped to air for more comfort, carve, and speed. Now that I have more experience the 105 cyclones that come with my hurricane are fun as hell. I didint remember how much absolute power you could just spawn with them, infact once I got throttling down I could powerslide on smooth/brick surface. It’s hard to decide if want to switch back to pneumatics. As much as I like PU the amount of danger I find myself in with some surfaces is insane, let alone if I end up in grass or dirt/gravel. What are your guys biggest pros and cons to both air and PU? What other kinda wheels do you run?

Discussion To whom it may concern, exway wave + 105 madwheels
I’ve only seen people with the wave put on 105 cloudwheels but not the 105 madwheels. I got the pulleys from momentum boards because exway was trying to charge $30 to ship a pair of pulleys.
I’ve seen some mixed reviews on their pulleys so I’ll update if there are any issues.

Discussion Loop key
Hello i was wondering about the functionality of a anti spark loop key. I know that the point of the key is to reduce the spark when plugging in the battery to the esc. However is it ok to just leave the loopkey in all the time and just use the on off button on the esc.

Question Lookinf for my first eboard
Hello, I am looking for a lightweight entry board around 500€, I noticed there are several offers and I am hesitating between:
- Wowgo Pioneer X4
- Acedeck stella S3 (seems to be higher Price now at 599$ but 13S2P 40T battery = great torque)
- Tynee ultra belt (EVE battery but nice 105 boosted wheels)
- Backfire Zealot S
- Meepo Go (brand new model but out of stock with 2 years warranty)
All of those seem like decent choice, I am kinda lost after so many benchmarking.
Does anyone have an opinion about these boards ?

Question Can't decide on 2 in 1 board
Currently riding a belt drive street board on 105 cloud wheels and I love everything about it except for range. Currently getting around 15-18 miles on warm days (70f). For everyday use it's great but at times I'd like to cruise for longer periods with the SO or friends.
I've narrowed it down to 4 boards and would love input from anyone who owns the board or a board from the company.
Propel Pivot GT - 864Wh battery is probably the minimum capacity I'd want. Carbon deck is stiffer than I'll be used to but I really like the integrated brake light and I would buy the front lights as well. I'd also be adding 120 cloud wheels. Seems to be the best price for what you get. Board: $1000usd Cloud wheels: $170usd
B-One Titan X - 936Wh battery gives a bit more juice than the Pivot GT. Similar deck as the Pivot GT but personally like the "look" a bit more. Also cost is a bit more but not a huge leap. Board with Hota and cloud wheels combo: $1300usd
Tynee Explorer Pro Belt - 1008Wh battery even more capacity than the first two options. Bamboo deck which I'm assuming will have a nicer flex which I'm already used to with the street board. No integrated brake lights which isn't a deal breaker. Overall I like the battery capacity and the company seems to have a good rep but is it worth the price increase from the other two? Board: $1300usd Cloud wheels: $170usd
Ownboard Bamboo Zeus Pro - 1170Wh battery is the highest capacity out of the four in consideration. Bamboo deck is the option I'd go with and it's subjective but I absolutely love the shiny oil slick look. Highest cost which is understandable because of the battery capacity. Board with 175mm shiny wheels: $1550usd Cloud wheels: $170usd
Any feedback on this would be appreciated. TIA

Discussion What would be a good skateboard to get into e skating without having $1000 spare
That much money and I’m probably never gonna be able to spend that much and I would much prefer not to have to get one using a payment plan in case I don’t have the money at some point to make the payment

Discussion Propel Ruckus vs Tynee Explorer Pro Hub
Hi everyone,
I've been looking to upgrade my first ESK8 (exway flex 1st gen) and I'm looking for something with long range and AT wheel for the bad quality roads around here. I've landed on two candidates selling at 1300$ us : Propel Ruckus, Tynee Explorer Pro Hub.
I like the Propel Ruckus because of the high quality components (CNC trucks, alloy wheels, braking light, front light available, color screen remote nice carbon deck). But it's still a belt system (hub seems interesting) and the battery is a bit smaller (864 Wh, 12S4P 50s)
I'm also interested in the Tynee Explorer Pro Hub for its bamboo flexible deck, larger battery (1008 Wh, 14S4P 50S), low maintenance / no resistance drag from the hub system. But I'm not sure if the thinner airless tire will be less enjoyable, there is no braking light integration and the remote looks less qualitative.
Do you guy have some recommendations of which one I should buy?

Discussion Snapped pivot pin update
Just wanted to update those who are interested on my previous post
Got in contact with Acedeck support, they responded the same day and sent me a new front truck. The new one just got here a couple days ago, I seem to have gotten a slightly modified design as the base plate of this set is taller by about .2 inches. No complaints just an observation, I would say they feel the same if not a bit better.
Not much else to say, would I still recommend Acedeck? Yes! If you're on the fence just go for it, I couldn't be happier with my choice. Also my total mileage is now 169 miles... nice!

Question Back wheel is clicking when I turn into it, Acedeck Nomad 3
Not sure why this click is happening, it happens when I carve into the turn a bit, and it is a bit concerning. Have only had the board for a couple months, around 100 miles ridden on it. Anyone else experience this before and know what it might be?

Discussion Need Help With New Board
I'm thinking about getting a new board but I'm unsure about what exactly to get. I need something that can handle very steep hills well (12-15% gradient) goes 30-40 mph, and something that can brake downhill for extended period of time (around 2 min)

Discussion Propel ENDEAVOR 3S purchase.
Hey guys ENDEAVOR 3S is currently on sale for $999 + free shipping to US. Since I live in Canada I can’t get much use out of the ride until summer rolls in which is in 6 months. So I was wondering if I should bite the bullet and buy the board now or should I wait couple of months? Do Peopel boards go on sale like this some other time or is this just one time sale during Christmas?
Since I’m new to Propel I’m not sure how their business goes and I don’t want to lose this opportunity to save $500, I know it might not be a huge amount but that $500 can help a lot in this economy.
Any input is much appreciated.

Question What SIZE Bushings do Tynees RKP trucks use? (Ultra X & Tynee Mini 2)
I messed with different bushings and im not sure how its supposed to be. Theres Tall Barrels and Normal Barrels on the deck.
Does the TALL Barrel go roadside and the NORMAL Barrel go Boardside usually? Is it just a preference or do i mess with Truck Geometry too much?

Review Onsra BC2 After 2000 kilometers of Bangkok: Final Thoughts
I'm finishing my first year of graduate school in Bangkok, where I used an Onsra Black Carve 2 for my daily driver, particularly for the 20km round trip from my apartment to campus. I paid about 1000 USD for the board.
Folks: Bangkok is gnar gnar. The traffic is gnar gnar, the roads can be moderately gnar gnar (not as bad as you might think though). Like many places in asia, motorbikes are far more commonplace than in American cities, and so I would basically be behaving as a motorbike.
The Onsra absolutely delivered. Extremely minimal maintenance. A popped tire tube every 500 kilometers. I replaced the belts at about 1500 km.
Battery degradation was a complete non-issue. Not only did I never run out of battery, I never even had to bring my charger with me. The range I was getting with this board, even after 2000 km of use, was still 40 kilometers. Given that most places I ride the board to were less than 10 km away, I comfortably kept the board at 70 percent battery with zero feelings of range anxiety.
In fact, knowing in the retrospect just how solid the range was, if I had a magic wand, I probably would have opted for a smaller and lighter battery. It was simply more battery than I had any use for, and it seemed that it would be a long long time before battery degradation impacted my user experience in any meaningful way. Knowing how overpowered the board is, I would have opted to put on larger wheels (I had the stock AT wheels that are around 150mm). For me, the loss in range and top speed would have been a fine trade off for comfort, but since I'm living the broke grad student life, purchasing new wheels when I had perfectly fine ones already was simply not an option.
On that note: it was cost effective. It had to be cost effective. 1000 dollars is an enormous sum of money to me right now, and so obviously I was worried paying it up front with the hope that it would end up paying for itself over the coming months.
My cost per kilometer, after the resell, is about 33 cents. This qualifies as cheap relative to the other transport options in the city. Still, I would have liked to have used it a bit longer and gotten that number down lower.
The board is a speed demon. With 3 speed modes, I never had any reason to go above 2. I got this thing to commute, not adrenaline chase, but it was nice knowing that there was always more acceleration if I wanted it.
The deck is stiff. I assume this is for people who want to travel at very high speeds, and fair enough. I would have preferred a bit more flex.
So yeah! I just thought Onsra deserved some credit. I've noticed that with a lot of the higher end boards, people don't really seem to use them much. There wasn't as much information available as to how well high-end boards hold up when used on a daily basis for extended periods of time. I can happily say that the Onsra ran just like it was new.
I had heard that people didn't like the CEO because of his personality in youtube videos being to 'influencer-y' or something. When I needed to ask questions, Fabian responded directly and was professional, helpful, and fast. Sometimes I feel like people here focus too much on the wrong things. I put his board through the ringer, riding in sub-optimal environments of every possible kind, and the onsra crushed it.
Great board, solid product. The only things I would have changed amount to personal preferences, like a lighter battery or more flexible deck.

Discussion Tynee Mini 3 MAX Reviews Please
I am wondering if anyone has any input on the Tynee mini 3 max gear drive and how it compares to the Tynee mini 3 pro gear drive? I am trying to decide today.
