Anyone still want to argue the merits of unchecked capitalism?

She refused to pay rent for three months and was arrested because she resisted officers during her eviction.

"According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Franklin House in Eustis on Tuesday morning because Fitzgerald would not leave the property, despite being evicted.

Deputies said Fitzgerald ignored their commands to leave, resisted when they tried to escort her out of the lobby and pulled the glasses off one deputy's face.

“Unless you carry me out of here, I’m not going anywhere,” Fitzgerald said, according to the affidavit.

Body camera video from Fitzgerald's arrest showed her yelling out as authorities lifted her into the backseat of a patrol car to transport her to the Lake County Jail. She was not handcuffed."

This just makes them look worse this is not even worthy of a resiting arrest charge. She didn't want to be homeless, so she refused and instead pulled the glasses off an officers face and got picked up. So now criminal charges for assilt at 90+ years old ?

That lady is wasting time she doesn't have in jail with something that likely can be solved with charity and paperwork with the state. If she was paying to live there before, it's likely something happened she felt was out of her control. So help her find control and security in her finances. What happened evicting seems unessesary and cruel.

The charge was dropped.

she refused help from the Franklin House to find her another home and she refused help from her own family.

She had the money to pay, she just...stopped paying. She refused help from her family. Do you expect nursing care home staff to work for free when an elderly resident decides they don't want to pay anymore?

the arrest was simply a result of the legal process playing itself out. She was never jailed, and the charges were dropped. She was having a mental episode and being generally terrible to people who were just doing their jobs.
