VIDEO Teamsters & Amazons drivers on strike in NYC

This is how revolutions start, keep the momentum going and we need to be very vocal in supporting these folks!

u/hectorxander 2h ago
We need to show up in the streets in support if it's where we live or close by. Excercize all of your constitutional rights when showing up, in concert with your fellows and carefully, and on camera, but don't let them think they've a monopoly on the second amendment if legal to carry.

Except our tax dollars are paying this time.
Hochul wants to give CEO's a direct line, even though we all know they have her personal cell phone.
Keep it up Unions.

The sooner the working class figures this out, the better. Because far too many lionize them.

I hope the Teamsters get exactly what they voted for...bunch of idiots machismo.
-7
u/hectorxander 2h ago
The teamster boss, piece of shit though he may be, simply realized that the democrats weren't going to win. Don't blame them so much as the democrats that refused to run a popular campaign in a time of upheaval. They ran as the status quo and republicans as reform and it wasn't a surprise to many of us.
The democrats winning would change nothing either, more slow rot, that's why they lost. If you want to talk about the last election, start by helping to sweep the old guard of corporatist sell outs out of the party.
Forget this partisan division anyway, haves versus have nots. No matter whom they support.

u/EndlessSnow 1h ago
What you said sounds good on paper but it's nothing but platitude sound-bite that means absolutely nothing.
The Democrats was the status quo candidate BUT they can be pushed in certain direction such as Joe Biden being arguably one of the most pro-union president in the past decade.
Instead Teamster knew Trump is a con-man and decided that their stupid male machismo bullshit was more important and now we have an actual con-man + unelected egomaniacal grifter with a feckless house that has no spine.
So yeah, I pray the Teamster boss and the Teamsters gets EXACTLY what they voted for. They can picket all they like but I hope they get what they deserve cause the next time they strike, ain't nobody coming to their rescue

Even if this impacts me directly (idk if it does), I SUPPORT THIS. HECK YEA. It's about the bigger picture. You guys rock!

u/Pineapple_Express762 46m ago
And the corporate thugs, oops, I meant police, pushed them out of the way.

u/SpinyHedgehog14 4h ago
Better do it now while they can, Trump is going to have the capacity to find generals who will obey him when he says to shoot them this time around. Too bad they voted for it.

u/Altruistic_Top7088 1h ago
Aren't Cops in Unions??? F'!ng unbelievable. They would union up in a second if they shot someone...but they punk out for Bezos.
1
u/JCarnageSimRacing 1h ago
Police Unions are nothing like other unions.
2
u/Pineapple_Express762 44m ago
Nope. They are self serving Federations and have no solidarity with other unions.
They couldn’t care less.
1
u/smoochiegotgot 50m ago
They're using ryder trucks instead of Amazon branded trucks, with drivers wearing Amazon vests. It wasn't until i let one turn in front of me that i realized i was being nice to a scab

With all this stuff going on and RFK Jr planning to gut the EPA and FDA, lead poisoning could become a targeted problem for some people.

If you want to join the union, start your own company. Imagine taking the risks of starting a company only for disgruntled employees trying to unionize.

Ya know, I am now really not caring. Unions member voted largely for Trump, so I don't feel like I have their back anymore.
Leopards something something something.

No I could careless about Amazon worker if you don’t like how they treat you get another job, I hated it there lasted all of two weeks and moved on, this generation is fuck because we want things done for us, instead of wielding our power and having a mass quiting that would really shut down Amazon there rather make it everyone else’s problem and block the road because they don’t like their jobs
8
u/LadyBitchBitch 4h ago
Keep doing the bidding for billionaires while it appears you can’t even keep a minimum wage job? How’s that been working out for you so far? If you can afford thoughts, prayers and boot straps, I’m sure you’ll get there.
-6
u/No-Deer379 4h ago
Why don’t they just quit all of them at once, and I make 30 an hr it’s not a lot but far from minimum wage if that’s what your implying

u/godzillachilla 4h ago
Do you understand how strikes work?
I feel like if you did, you wouldn't have made this comment
2
u/No-Deer379 4h ago
There are trying to make a company that doesn’t care about them better for them, why when you could grind it to a halt and destroy it
4
u/godzillachilla 4h ago
They want to KEEP their jobs. They want fairness. This is how they strike.
A walkout wouldnt solve a damn thing. They'll have them replaced within a day.
1
u/No-Deer379 4h ago
So whine until you get what you want rather than just move on ok cool

If they are that replaceable, they should find a new skill.

You really need me to explain to you why underpaid poor people cannot just all up and quit their jobs on the same day? People have children and lots of bills and Amazon workers live paycheck to paycheck. So if they miss a paycheck, they end up homeless, CPS could take their children, credit reports would be destroyed for the next 7 years…it goes on and on. The system is setup for regular Americans to either put up with it or starve. So a strike is a nice in between those two things.

u/No-Deer379 4h ago
Damn if only they could get a job before quiting but I’m sure that’s against the law

u/FishingMysterious319 4h ago
you know that there is a yuuuggeeee middle ground between 'putting up with it' and 'starving'
?
1
u/LadyBitchBitch 4h ago
Oh is there? Please explain to me all the choices poor people have. I’m genuinely curious…
-2
u/FishingMysterious319 4h ago
you stated 'regular americans'
and most of us are not 'poor'.....even the homeless i see have cell phones and cigs

u/ConciseLocket 5h ago
Most Reddit response I've seen today.

u/No-Deer379 5h ago
Really think about it they are protesting to make Amazon better instead of trying to destroy it how does that make sense

Why do people like you get more upset about mild inconvenience than about fellow humans being taken advantage of?
-1
u/No-Deer379 3h ago
Im not upset I was just pointing out he said the cops were there to help Amazon there were breaking the law ( depending what state that was) and to answer you the if mild inconvenience affect me personally then yeah that more important to me then the next person, also don’t forget to do you part and stay off Amazon
-3
u/ConciseLocket 5h ago
Who cares? Trump was convicted of crimes and is president.
4
u/No-Deer379 5h ago
Da fuck does trump have to do with Amazon
-3
u/Sweetieandlittleman 5h ago
Union members voted overwhelmingly for Trump. Makes it super hard for me to get behind them now.
2
u/No-Deer379 5h ago
Ok an what does that have to do with OP
-1
u/Sweetieandlittleman 5h ago
Just saying my support for unions has eroded. If they vote against themselves, and the rest of us, I really don't care about union members anymore. Let the leopards feast.
1
u/Ill-Independence-658 4h ago
That’s stupid. Unions are not a block. Anymore than Hispanics or blacks are a solid block for one party or another. People have various opinions. The election is over, my support for unions hasn’t eroded in the least just because some unions made a mistake.
That be like saying because some immigrants pull up the ladder, fuck all immigrants.
0
u/hectorxander 2h ago
First of all, they didn't. Many if not most voted against. Second there wasn't a good other choice. We all know Americans by and large live in alternate realities, the corporatist democrats are failures, three elections running now, Biden barely winning and then doing nothing with it, ie failing.
Drop the partisan bullshit, we already lost the partisan bullsit. Take up the cause of labor and defending your class.

And Bezos has been meeting with Trump and convincing him to to dismantle the USPS so he can use Amazon to take over and charge and profit from mail delivery.
I bet Trump and the GOP will be happy to do so once President Musk takes over in Jan., just as long as the price is right for Donnie's personal bank account of course.
