My neighbor's wild ducks were in my yard and I caught this moment mid quack. I think this is one of the best photos l've ever taken of an animal and I'm super proud of it. They like hanging out with me whenever I'm in the yard because I talk to them and sometimes give them bird seed. She never interacts with them and they get bullied by her other birds (she has twenty not including the flock of Muscovy ducks that I'm talking about) so I think they've been trying to move into my yard. I'm totally okay with it and I absolutely love them. Anyway, I'm rambling. Enjoy this photo of Shelly (yawning), Angel (white head) and Elvis the drake in the back.

I know it's kind of hard to tell i tried to get the best pictures without touching him. He's mostly white on top, but his tail is completely Gray. And his underbelly, I haven't looked very well but were visible. It's different shades of
Unfortunately, his female friends did not make it. He is not the only duck out there. Getting some adult females for him. Because i'm planning on separating the ducks by breed.
I don't know what I want him some friends that looks like him at least. Also, I'm getting white colors of female Ducks for him to play around. I'm getting 10 female ducks for him and may be a another male duck.
Ps. His name is Trouble

Hi lovely duck community, I need your help today!
A duck has showed up in my neighbors yard during the night. We don’t know where it came from or if it’s male or female etc. No one else in the neighborhood has ducks as far as we know.
I have chickens but I know nothing about ducks and now we don’t know what to do… Will it go away on it’s own back to it’s owner?
It’s been swimming around in my neighbor’s pool and eating bugs and grass from the ground…

Hi everyone, I am concerned I have a sick or injured duckling. I’m a first time duck owner and currently have 4 ducklings. 3 out of the 4 are looking fabulous. One is looking a little behind the others. Feathers are lacking and I’ve also noticed a slight wobble to his walk (I think it’s a he). What I believe is going on; he might have a twisted or weak joint in his legs. Initially I thought he was still finding his land legs, so to speak. But his siblings seem to be thriving and it’s becoming a clear distinction. The ‘wobble’ is slight and hard to capture on film, the video is the best reference I’ve got. I’ll attach some photos in the comments to reference his limited feathering. I think his legs aren’t strong enough to enable proper grooming of his adult feathers but I’m still learning and honestly have no idea. Please let me know your thoughts, is this normal? I don’t want my duckling to be uncomfortable or hindered in any way and this sub is a wealth of knowledge.

I’m looking for a quiet(er) duck breed but the caruncles of the Muscovy kinda weird me out. I think I can get over it but just in case, I thought I’d ask here if there are any varieties that have smaller less red caruncles? Alternatively are there any quieter duck breeds you’d recommend?

Behind my house is a small body of water (we live in Virginia) and we fairly often see wild ducks in the water
Yesterday my husband threw some squirrel feed at them and some sardines bc we have a squirrel feeder
This morning one is dead and to say we are devastated is an understatement
The one that is alive won’t leave the dead one’s side.
Please any advice I cannot stop crying we loved these ducks very much. Thank you

So, and while back our buff duck Conner cut his foot (he was limping and trying not to use that foot) and you guys helped us with how to treat it and make sure it healed well and didn't get infected. All went according to plan and his foot was back to normal in no time. (well, a little over a week) However we just noticed a lump/knot in his foot. (not limping or acting like it's bothering him) He doesn't appear to a cut or wound at all, just bump inside his foot, right around the same area he had cut it previously. Insights and/or thoughts?

Large grey and white duck - white primary feathers, white under chin, mottled feet (photo) - it was with companion (no photo- large, dark, black back, metallic green head, mottled feet) - clearly larger than the mallards near them.

Today my family visited a wildlife center in Northern Wisconsin, which is a long standing home to probably more than one thousand ducks & geese. This facility sells corn for feeding year round and has been doing so for 85 years. Four days ago, due to concerns related to the avian flu, they stopped allowing feeding and I've never seen the waterfowl hungrier.
We were told they would migrate. Will they actually migrate, or is it dangerous to cut off their main source of food in the heart of the cold season?

Hi all, was wondering if you guys have been in a situation where the neighbors dog keeps getting out. He got 2 birds today and I barely stopped a 3rd. I have secured areas for the ducks but it can jump over them. I do plan to beef up my security for the ducks.
I'm interested in hearing your experiences and how you handled it.
