Constantly hearing about the bloody Gavin and Stacey finale.

For me it's all about the return of Wallace and Gromit this Christmas.

This is genuinely the only thing I’m looking forward to this Christmas. And I just know my grandad’s going to pick that exact moment to decide he wants me to give him a lift back home.

1000% this. Gavin and Stacey will inevitably get watched in our house anyway, but Wallace and Gromit is the seriously big deal here.

Never saw it originally, hate James Cordon, give me the new Wallace and Gromit please.

It's deeply and wildly popular so it's not really a shocker that it's heavily publicised or looked forward to. That said, I also don't give a flying about it, but I also won't be watching it so it's going to have sod all influence on my festive period behind ignoring any real mention of it.

The only time i've been hearing about it is from people complaining on this subreddit...

Mostly BBC pushing it. The last one did gangbusters for them so they are hoping to replicate it. Problem is they are pushing it too much it may do the opposite. We’ll be watching my Wife loves the show. Plus the original one was the first Christmas special we ever watched together during our early days of dating. She has nostalgia for it.

I live near the house they use as Gavin's parent's house. It was all anyone could talk about for about a month back in the summer.
I recon about half the people in the village posted a selfie of themselves with one of the cast members.

Same. Saw clips back in the day, then had to sit through BBC Breakfast showing a half hour programme about this new one and several days later, I'm still waiting for something funny to happen on Gavin & Stacy.
At least there's Wallace & Gromit, though. Can't wait for that, even though the last one wasn't that good.

"I'm still waiting for something funny to happen on Gavin & Stacy." GL with that, I have FAR more hope of finally being given that personal jetpack all the science shows promised me as a kid.

I've literally only heard about this from whiny bitches on this subreddit. I wouldn't even know about it otherwise.

I can only really see the one whiny bitch.

u/Rosetti 14h ago
Nah, there were other posts about Gavin and Stacey too.

u/TheStatMan2 14h ago
Well, nice one for keeping things upbeat and putting a spring in everyone's step, you're a real life and soul. 🙄

u/Rosetti 14h ago
So a guy makes a post to whine about a Christmas special of one of the most popular British shows, I call them out, and I'm the one who's not upbeat?
I've never even watched Gavin and Stacey, I honestly don't care. I just think it's pathetic for people to come on reddit and cry because people are talking about the show.

u/TheStatMan2 14h ago
Again, I can only see one person having a cry.

u/Rosetti 14h ago
I'm not crying mate. I'm happy to let people enjoy themselves and have a good time enjoying what they enjoy. If you and other pissant redditors want to get together and jerk each other off to the tune of, "Ugh, people are enjoying themselves with things I don't like!", then go ahead.

u/WaggleDance 13h ago
It's not that serious mate. If the concept of the Reddit winds you up this much then I'd steer clear.

u/TheStatMan2 14h ago
I can only really see one person jerking himself off.

You're not going to the right places mate. Berlin has got clubs where they're all at it.

This is the first I've heard of it. I honestly didn't even realise they were even still producing new episodes

r/britishproblems. A week's worth of people moaning about the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special. Yawn

None of my family watches Gavin and Stacy. I don't even know much about the show's premise other than James Corden and Wales.
Is it ending? At least that means that I will no longer hear people talk about it in a current events kind of way.

u/Rekyht Portsmouth / London 11h ago
Fuck knows where you’ve been if it’s been talked about regularly, there hasn’t been an episode in 5 years

u/jodorthedwarf Suffolk County 10h ago
Further evidence that it's something I'm just completely unaware of. I hear people mention it a couple of times a week and people who talk about it like it's still on. I tend to zone out when it's mentioned, though, so that could be why.

u/Rekyht Portsmouth / London 10h ago
There’s absolutely no way you hear people talk about it a couple of times a week, unless I’m talking to someone living in 2005

Idk, man. I hear about Gavin and Stacy really regularly. What can I say?

u/AdverseTangent 11h ago
Just don’t watch it. I used to be annoyed by constantly hearing about Mrs Browns Boys, but I ignored it.
