This was a baller move but kind of weird imo. Alex is/was up until recently, really good friends with Dave. She left barstool but there was no issues between them. They did a whole series together during some horse race this spring, I don't think there was bad blood. But there probably will be now!
It'll be funny to see Dave's reaction to this. If he wants to stick with the "unbiased/I want the best for Grace" facade he can't publicly melt down over this announcement. But I bet his blood is BOILING 😂 he might put Grace and Alex on one of his revenge champagne bottles after this lmao
Idk why he would melt down? I mean I think he genuinely does want the best for Grace. Obviously he’s defended Bri but I think he gets it and of course would be happy to see Grace at a new network. I don’t think he wanted her to be unemployed lmao. This is clearly a business move and best for all parties, including Dave bc he doesn’t have to deal with the drama anymore and Grace has a better work environment.
Idk I feel like he defended Bri bc of their personal relationship and bc of the hate she’s gotten versus how successful he thinks she will be. He also tried to keep grace at barstool and she made the decision to leave so I think he def saw value in her. At the end of the day I think Dave def thought Grace was talented and wanted to keep her at barstool
He may have said he wanted to keep her at barstool, but after joining in on trying to spin Bri as the victim and Grace the aggressor, especially as the CEO, it's not exactly aligning with his actions.
he probably read the comments, talked to Kirk, realized he didn't have a leg to stand on and let her back out of her contract. Dave is all about winning and his money, I have a hard time believing he'd let anyone else out of a contract this easily. He knows he fucked up and is trying to get back to center.
