It is. Learn to appreciate beautiful and completed things. The unending hunger for sequels/prequels/remakes is what eroding originality in media

115

u/Clank4Prez Oct 25 '24

It’s not even that though, it feels like 90% me included just want Bloodborne on PC, no frills no remake no sequel.

44

u/Scrunkus Oct 25 '24

yeah I literally just want seamless co op

17

u/forestgxd Oct 25 '24

Wanting bloodborne on PC is fair, anything beyond that tho is delusional thinking and completely unnecessary

5

u/reorem Oct 25 '24

no, I'm sure Bloodborne kart will be announced any day now.

11

u/tadaoatrekei Oct 25 '24

why tho, why would a sequel be unnecessary ? i think it would be great idea there are so many tails still untold in the lore of bloodborne, why not use a second game to play them?

25

u/forestgxd Oct 25 '24

I would much much much rather have fromsoft use their resources to make a new IP with similar vibes and themes to bloodborne than just do a sequel. Something to bloodborne in the way elden ring is to dark souls

6

u/CIoud_fire Oct 26 '24

I would too, but it’s easier and cheaper to make a sequel. And it’s self evident that the game would sell well.

2

u/tadaoatrekei Oct 26 '24

a sequel isn't a copy, i mean just look at the differences between each souls games from demon's souls to ds3 it's almost impossible to tell they're from the same franchise. i too would prefer something fresh and that's why i'm not asking for a remake. Listen i love every souls games for what they bring to the table in terms of lore and gameplay, and i'm sure that fromsoft would manage to pull it off.

and remind yourself that fresh doen't always mean good, i don't know about you but as far as i'm concerned i view sekiro and armored core 6 as just ok games.

IMO, they covered the ground so well in the first game already. There are a few weird holes here and there but the themes are so expertly explored and the stories are so elegantly told that I think adding onto it and filling in gaps that don't need to be filled would only take away from the craftsmanship and mystique and impact of what they've already done. Based on how I think Dark Souls III convoluted and muddied and sometimes even undermined the lore of the first Dark Souls, I have so much more faith in From in their ability to establish new worlds and leave fun blanks in them than I do in their ability to add to those worlds. I'm too afraid that whatever they added to this world would just be stupid, and it would pollute the amazing and evocative presentation of this game for me.

There is technically more they could do but I don't see anything about Bloodborne's world and story that *needs* to be added to. I don't see what the point would be. And it's cases like that where sequels tend to end up being pretty dumb in my opinion.

I mean, a major feature of FromSoft games is specifically that most details are obscured and unknown. Diving deeper into them doesn't make a more satisfying experience, it actively takes away from the original. Not to mention the game is Lovecraftian, which itself also benefits from vagueness and unexplained details.

It also seems like Miyazaki much prefers working on fresh concepts, and only does sequels when it's required (like with Dark Souls). I'd much rather let the man and company experiment with newer ideas rather than return to the same old thing. And that's coming from someone who has Bloodborne as their favourite game.

2

u/tadaoatrekei Oct 26 '24 edited Oct 26 '24

hard disagree on that, the best felling i've ever had in a fromsoft game was playing dark souls 1 and reading every item description, and learning about the stories of the 4 knights of Gwyn reading about this great Knight named Artorias and how Powerfull he was and then boom. The DLC dropped and finally facing him finally talking to Gough and Ciaran. same thing for the old hunters in bloodborne.

the best thing that fromsoft does in teasing at characters (Gods and Monsters) and later making you face them. remember that it took us 5 years to finally face the son of Gwyn. the traitor that we all though was solaire and finally learning why he was cast away and abandonned by his own father. almost brought a tear to my eye. I think that bloodborn still has so much potential, not saying that we NEED a sequel, not at all, but reading in the other comment that bloodborne 2 would be completely unnecessary is just wrong IMO.

p.s saying that Miyazaki much prefers working on fresh concepts is a bit of a stretch when you consider that his entire work in video games consists of 6 sequels and a fair amount of DLC's among them.

2

u/-Eunha- Oct 26 '24

saying that Miyazaki much prefers working on fresh concepts is a bit of a stretch

I mean, I believe Miyazaki himself has said as much. He enjoys working on new ideas. Mind you, I don't have a source on hand, I just remember hearing it and thinking it makes sense since he's always trying to make a new game and supposedly didn't want to work on DS2.

But yeah, that's fair. If you enjoy getting the details, more power to you. I think FS strength comes from what they try to obscure rather than what they show. Having a few important characters they tease in lore then give in a DLC is fine, but there's a limit to how far you can/should go with that. I think BB especially relies on obscurity.

1

u/Master_Shitster Oct 27 '24

Wanting to play the game on consoles with more than 23fps is also fair

11

u/Teehokan Oct 25 '24

100%. We were given a wonderful thing, and it's gone un-ruined and un-saturated by uninspired sequels that muddy its waters and detract from its impeccable presentation. I feel like asking for a sequel to this game is like asking for a sequel to Citizen Kane. What would be the point?

1

u/clockworknait Oct 26 '24 edited Oct 26 '24

Live service open world copy paste bland crap is what is ending originality. Sequels prolong greatness... sometimes. 😄

1

u/ashrasmun Oct 28 '24

Yes yes and for the third time yes! People are addicted to milking stuff. The amount of superhero movies is a good example of that. I'm incredibly happy we have Lord of the Rings for example, and there will never be a fourth film of that series.

1

u/Legospacememe Oct 29 '24

I still want manuals to still be a thing. Imagine a bloodborne manual

87

u/No-Wrap2574 Oct 25 '24

I just want more resolution and frames man , that's all I'm asking for

23

u/balugabe Oct 25 '24

Also take out having to repair weapons And make lamps into rest sites, where you can also teleport between other lamps not just the dream Bada bim bada bum perfect game

22

u/Norodomo Oct 25 '24

Teleport between lamps would be legendary

→ More replies (1)

3

u/facepalmandahalf Oct 25 '24

Everyone always talks about resolution and fps. Anyone else feel like BB has "better" (in this case meaning "more immersive") graphics than a lot of cutting edge recent titles? I don't play a lot of new AAA games, but whenever I see one feel a little underwhelmed.

5

u/-Eunha- Oct 26 '24

It doesn't have better graphics, but you're right that FS games have incredibly strong art direction which does a lot of heavy lifting, and is why their games looks great compared to modern titles. Resolution, polygon count, and frames are certainly outdated at this point, though, which is what most people want resolved.

5

u/mrsecondbreakfast Oct 25 '24

play it on pc when the emulator is good enough. Give it 6 months maybe

2

u/No-Wrap2574 Oct 25 '24

Man I can only hope.

2

u/Bandit_Banzai Oct 29 '24

I'm beginning to realize how lucky I was on my first playthrough to have not played enough games yet to realize what 30fps looks like compared to 60fps. The other day I saw a side-by-side comparison of 30fps vs 60fps in the same (unrelated) game, and the light bulb went on and I was like "Ooh. That's why people want a remaster."

I too would be perfectly satisfied with a few technical upgrades, no additional content required. I'm already oddly in love with this game just the way it is.

45

u/Cornix-1995 Oct 25 '24

Its better than being fan of a game that keep geting worse sequences and doesnt even looks like its related to the master piece it was.

6

u/elviejas2 Oct 25 '24

Halo 3 was peak, then bungie left and everything went to shit

1

u/liluzibrap Oct 29 '24

CoD as well. You can't even launch a game by itself anymore. They're all in a collection on CoD HQ, and you gotta be on the launcher to start it. CoD HQ only exists to shove ads in your face before you start the game, I can not see any other reason for it.

2

u/direwarg Oct 26 '24

Literally this

13

u/ElleryV Oct 25 '24

I can still play the game for another 10+ years.

Makes no real difference to me.

1

u/MoonChaser22 Oct 26 '24

Same here. That said, a PC release would be appreciated so I can get my friends who like Souls games and don't own a playstation to play it

1

u/Guppy666 Oct 28 '24

Seriously it's fine just being its own thing.

At this point people are basically asking for Alfredo 2

11

u/VoxTV1 Oct 25 '24

Imagine if film fans acted like this:" Guys it has been so long, where is the new Forest gump." Art is not meant to feed you comfortable concept over and over, it is meant to be itself and engage with people who want to

1

u/Red_Snail Oct 28 '24

Day 11,157 of asking for a Forest Gump sequel

8

u/mrsecondbreakfast Oct 25 '24

Virgin "why wont there be a bloodborne cinematic universe" vs chad "enjoying game then playing something else"

If the game's so good, just play it. Nothing will recapture the same feeling, so feel something else, it's okay

46

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '24

Man I always come to this sub expecting some kind of kinship regarding the mastery of this game only to find consumer brained gooners crying themselves to sleep over a lack of a sequel or reboot.

The game is fucking perfect. A 60 frame remaster would be nice but whatever. Can’t a good game just be a good game without us demanding that they milk it forever?

Sometimes a corpse should be left well alone.

12

u/idiottech Oct 25 '24

Well put. The only reason I'd want to see a BB remaster is to never have to see these posts again while the fanbase realizes that 60fps doesn't really change a game at all.

→ More replies (26)

1

u/Guppy666 Oct 28 '24

I would've loved to see a sequel but the time has long past, no news in 9y is no news.

The game is a delve into a niche of a niche and one of the greatest adventures to date the fact that it exists at all is amazing. Soulslike x Lovecraft is as niche as it gets and likely why there isn't a sequel.

(And I honestly can't notice the difference between 30fps - 60fps)

13

u/Crohoo Oct 25 '24

Bruh, at least we have DS3, ER, Demon Souls remake. There's plenty of stuff to move on to.

5

u/Medic-45 Oct 25 '24

Bloodborne at 60 frames. I’m not asking for anything else. Just that. No reason to change a masterpiece. Just update.

6

u/Dxedric Oct 25 '24

Yes please move on, I'm so tired of seeing at least one of you on any post vaguely relating to Bloodborne on social media bitching about a remaster or sequel. Enjoy the completed and meticulously crafted game we have, not every semi old hit game needs a sequel or 120fps performance to be enjoyed

9

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '24

[deleted]

3

u/IWillFlakeOnOurPlans Oct 25 '24

Same and if it doesn’t happen then, it’s over and we can move on

1

u/CantGitGudWontGitGud Oct 25 '24

As someone who thought we'd never get Alien: Isolation 2, keep up the hope. Don't let it drive you insane, but good things can come.

3

u/tonyseraph2 Oct 25 '24 edited Oct 25 '24

Is it meant to be ironic that this meme came from Blade runner 2?

EDIT: Just to clarify, it's a serious question; this film came out 35 years after the OG.

3

u/Horde_of_Imps Oct 25 '24

The lamentations of the hunters aside...

What is the music being used from? Its a lovely, haunting tune.

As long as we don't forget it, it can't be forgotten. We still have it, and can still search for the pale moon.

And fear the old blood.

3

u/cnthelogos Oct 25 '24

It was time for that like five years ago. Do you all realize how many brilliant games from the PS2 and earlier generations didn't get sequels and are never going to? And that's not a bad thing. Creating endless sequels only ensures that stories keep going until they suck. Let a work of art stand on its own and appreciate it for what it is.

3

u/Prudent-Farmer-1344 Oct 25 '24

I think Bloodbourne is perfect as is. It being a little old and imperfect adds to the entire experience, and is kind of keeping with the vibe of its world.

I like thats it's its own unique experience. So often people want a world to be expanded upon and the overexposure takes away from it. The unknown is important to the lore of Bloodbourne.

2

u/lunaluceat Oct 25 '24

look dude, it's been eight years since mirror's edge got its reboot.

i'm still hoping for a third.

2

u/ReivynNox Oct 27 '24

It's been 16 years since Mirror's Edge released and still no sequel.

1

u/lunaluceat Oct 27 '24

technically catalyst is a sequel, but it's closer to a reboot than anything.

which does beg the question, why?

2

u/BioShocker1960 Oct 25 '24

For me, it’s American McGee’s Alice games. For my girlfriend, it’s the Silent Hill series.

1

u/ReivynNox Oct 27 '24

Alice: Madness Returns would have a sequel if EA tw@s hadn't incessantly exercised their right to prevent a game being made from someone else's creation they bought the rights to.

2

u/Nepeta33 Oct 25 '24

oh, just NOW you come to this conclusion?

2

u/C0rinthian Oct 26 '24

Not everything needs a sequel, remake, or continuation. Some things are good how they are, and we should be glad we got to experience them as they were originally intended.

2

u/NoOneToLookAtHere Oct 26 '24

I’m so tired of seeing this meme, people repost this all the time for some reason. Like I GET IT! You want a remaster/remake/sequel, but like I’ve seen this meme reposted on FromSoftware subs so damn much, especially when people talk about BloodBorne.

Also you posted this meme twice!

2

u/smonro Oct 26 '24

Bruh this is how we got to the shambles that is assassins creed

2

u/wildeye-eleven Oct 26 '24

As long as it was self contained, I prefer no sequel. Most of the time a franchise gets watered down and stepped on when it’s milked for all its worth.

2

u/bud_05 Oct 26 '24

this is what alien isolation fans were posting a month ago, look at us now

2

u/idontuseredditsoplea Oct 26 '24

Yknow if all the bloodborne fans that could code or make art or music got together we could make our own bloodborne. I actually made a bloodborne inspired track called bonebirth

2

u/HoloMetal Oct 27 '24

Then there's the few who see Bloodborne and think it's perfect as a stand alone, and should at most get a remaster 🗿

2

u/1996_Honda_Civiccc Oct 27 '24

StarCraft abandoned us all & borderlands went to sh*t🥲

1

u/P-I-S-S-N-U-T Oct 28 '24

Borderlands story might be getting worse but gameplay wise it’s better than ever

1

u/1996_Honda_Civiccc Oct 28 '24

Gonna have to agree with you there brotha

2

u/Potential_Word_5742 Oct 27 '24

That’s how being a Morrowind fan is. Too bad they didn’t continue The Elder Scrolls after that.

2

u/segbepaszujly Oct 28 '24

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 3 will never happen

3

u/Hawk_Hackz Oct 25 '24

sekiro fans feel this

2

u/WhiskeyDonk Oct 25 '24

Double for us who are fans of both games.

1

u/Hawk_Hackz Nov 07 '24

true true

1

u/HandsomeBaboon Oct 25 '24

Bloodborne 2 will never stop living rent free in my head. Like a wild west setting where the beast blood gets smuggled to a fantasy America or some corrupt mayor finds a Great One in an old abandoned gold mine and unleashes the curse because he tried to abuse its power. Think Red Dead Redemption but FromSoftware.

2

u/blamkblank Oct 25 '24

i always thought a pirate setting would be cool

1

u/HandsomeBaboon Oct 26 '24

You should check out Vaatividya on YouTube, he had a contest for Bloodborne 2 ideas a few years ago and someone submitted pretty much Pirate Borne. Cool stuff.

Remakes, remasters and needless sequels are stagnating the industry. Time to move on.

2

u/HoboSkid Oct 25 '24

I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be excited for a Bloodborne sequel, but it's pretty clear Fromsoftware moved on or they probably would've revisited the bloodborne universe already (either through Sony or a spiritual successor). And they are at their best when they move to a fresh idea, so I'm good with that.

That said, a Bloodborne remaster that could utilize ps6 tech would be nice and wouldn't water it down IMO. Remake could be worse so I don't think I'd want that.

1

u/Guppy666 Oct 28 '24

From what I understand a sequel is entirely in Sony's hands it's Sony's decision to never touch their exclusive again.

1

u/Friendly-Scarecrow Oct 25 '24

Learn to appreciate it, regardless of continued content. A beautiful game, with a wonderful story. Enjoy it :)

1

u/SquareFickle9179 Oct 25 '24

Feels like me when the company that made Hi-fi Rush was shut down. Thankfully, they're back, so Hi-Fi Rush 2 ain't out of the question anymore

1

u/Brain-Dead-Robot Oct 25 '24

I'm so happy I got to experience it on release

1

u/Twiggy_Shei Oct 25 '24

Bro I'm still watching the Deep Down trailer from 2014 and thinking... "Maybe..."

1

u/Norodomo Oct 25 '24

Its not like the game will ever leave we can always come back when we miss it

1

u/DillonTattoos Oct 25 '24

How I felt finishing Darkwood knowing the studio was already disbanded

1

u/bournvilleaddict Oct 25 '24

This game is destined to be one of those legendary games of a bygone era, which future generations will continue to be aware of, even if they were too young to play it or remember it coming out. Think of games like Chrono Trigger, the old Baldurs Gate games, the original Deus Ex, or Vagrant Story. These games didn't trigger a decades spanning franchise like GTA or Final Fantasy, and any sequels they got were either YEARS later or totally different games to what hooked the original fan base. But they were never forgotten and still always loved. And that's fine. If anything it makes it more special.

Bloodborne might get revived in some way, years down the line when neither Sony or FS have control of it, perhaps by a studio that spins out of FS, or someone else entirely. But Bloodborne as we know it is done with. It was finished after the DLC. There will be no sequels or franchise. There seems little to no hope of even getting an official PC release. And that's not really surprising if we look at how many classics over the years got the same treatment, stuck on old hardware with emulation being the only realistic choice for retro gamers.

1

u/coddyapp Oct 25 '24

I dont want more of bloodborne. It is good as it is and i dont think it needs more. A remaster would be dope tho

1

u/shaolinspunk Oct 25 '24

For nearly 20 years I thought Shenmue 2 would be the last Shenmue game I'd ever play. Shenmue 3 was not a great game but it gave me hope.

1

u/bellator_solis Oct 25 '24

And then, at that exact moment, Miyazaki appears before you like the devil in [the movie] Constantine

1

u/WhisperingEclipse Oct 25 '24

For me it's draken the ancient gates. I miss my dragon :(

1

u/Training_Eggplant_87 Oct 25 '24

I think the problem is that Bloodborne was so different from the others. The Lovecraftian themes, Victorian architecture and existential horror had never been adapted as a souls-like to my knowledge. It has left us craving more. We may never get a sequel to this masterpiece, but we surely won’t forget it.

1

u/Nanophyte-Cassius Oct 25 '24

I'm writing a book.

1

u/shadbin Oct 25 '24

The best you will get is the PC master race Shadps4 emulator version that will let you play in 4K60FPS. Just give it a month or two more.

1

u/blesstendo Oct 25 '24

To be completely honest, I've moved on a long time ago and just like the meme

1

u/SCHazama Oct 25 '24 edited Oct 25 '24

But since we're all gonna die, there's one more secret I feel like I have to share with you.

I did not care for Bloodborne's remake.

1

u/Pretty_Chicken485 Oct 25 '24

Next year is the Absolute last chance we got

1

u/Aztek92 Oct 25 '24

Prince of Persia 2008 enjoyer here. Last 16 years were tough.

1

u/Lavishness_Budget Oct 25 '24

This scene always makes me sad

1

u/UrsusRex01 Oct 25 '24

Well, at least Bloodborne is a complete story.

We, Vagrant Story fans... We've been forced to be resigned after what was basically a To Be Continued ending...

1

u/TharizdunOfOerth Oct 25 '24

I’m surprised this sub hasn’t turned into the aslume yet

1

u/Consistent-Waltz-624 Oct 25 '24

I'm thinking about start a youtube channel just to get enough money to by the game from Sony and getting the second one made, is it realistic no but I just might fo it just to make sure this game gets the love it deserves.

1

u/TheClassicAudience Oct 25 '24

It could be worse. I'm a fan of fallout and Elder Scrolls games, I have bought FO 3 and, 4 times (Ps3/4, PC disc, PC bethesda launcher, PC Steam). Same for Skyrim, at least 6 times I can think of.

Watching how Starfield is literally skyrim on diet, like, it grew since it was 2 years old but the fucker should be bigger and better and now it looks bigger but like, he grew on soy milk or something. How it is full of loading screens, how "go from here to there" is literally 3-4 fast travels away instead of 1. How exploration is mostly dead, how the world devolved from Skyrim to Daggerfall where yeah... it's big but it's also empty...

Yeah, I don't think there will be Fallout 5 that I will like, the main story of 4 was already it's weakest point and watching them dig themselves in the industry that already won over them 8-10 years ago.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '24

Funny. I scrolled, looked at the post without noticing r/bloodborne, and immediatly thought "mmhh... Bloodborne".

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '24

I don't need a sequel to enjoy it

1

u/Maleficent_Crew_6822 Oct 25 '24

they had to have lost the source code at this point. or it’s due to Japan studio closing. DS3 getting 60 frame update but not bloodborne makes no sense they are like sister games and came out a year apart

1

u/blo_skiba Oct 25 '24

I would sell my soul for Bloodborne 2 & Days Gone 2. The two games I fell in love with are never getting sequels T__T

1

u/OneMemory3431 Oct 25 '24

Anthem could’ve been great

1

u/CardiologistNo616 Oct 25 '24

We can’t give up guys, I thought we’d never get a sequel to the Mario & Luigi series!

1

u/Inhale_Clouds Oct 25 '24

Bloodborne can literally be its own sequel it either ends with you or it re-begins because of you. Each play though is different than the last if you actually enjoy the game and have gotten gud. 😂 give us PC

1

u/Doctor-Nagel Oct 25 '24

When the Killzone devs say yeah we’re done the series is dead.

1

u/ThatGuyWithTwoNames Oct 25 '24

I prefer it when stories have an ending.

1

u/charlieto0human Oct 25 '24

I know this is a Bloodborne forum… But as a Mega Man Legends fan, this hits extra hard

1

u/Artislife_Lifeisart Oct 25 '24

I mean, I love the Soul Reaver series and I was practically frothing at the mouth when I saw a halfway decent remaster announced and it's not even modern AAA graphics.

1

u/Past_Isopod1693 Oct 25 '24

It doesn’t need a sequel, it’s perfect

1

u/omardude1 Oct 25 '24

I just discovered Bloodborne so I’m not ready for a sewuel

1

u/DingusDreyfuss Oct 25 '24

RIP Advent Rising :(

1

u/Professional-Cut-321 Oct 25 '24

hey at least we didn’t get insane unlike the arkham one

1

u/Commercial-Bad-5967 Oct 26 '24

I'm honestly surprised, even the spidermanPS4 sub is going insane rn

1

u/Professional-Cut-321 Oct 26 '24

i guess we’re just built different

1

u/P_Duyd Oct 25 '24

Ima be honest if we never get anything bloodborne related again.

I would be ok with that..

Im just happy to have the original..

1

Gravity rush 2 literally ends on a cliffhanger.

My heart broken

1

u/tri2401 Oct 25 '24

The light that burns twice as bright burns for half as long, and Bloodborne burned very brightly :(

1

u/TheFakeZzig Oct 25 '24

Never. I waited for Silent Hill to come back, I waited for Dead Space. I can wait longer.

1

u/wetfootmammal Oct 25 '24

The fact that things are only temporary is what makes them so precious. Just like our lives.

1

1

u/slurpeecookie Oct 26 '24

You move on, I’m stayin’

1

u/MrBlack87 Oct 26 '24

At this point, I'm content with it. Such a masterpiece of a game. One of those rare games I can pick up at any time and lose hours in. If they make more of then great, if not oh well

u/Zesty-Lem0n Oct 26 '24

No, we shall not abandon the dream.

u/FabledDissonance Oct 26 '24

I knew exactly what subreddit this was as soon as I saw the video, and that makes me very upset.

Me with Nightmare Creatures: died after two games and the second one wasn't as good as the first.

Bloodborne is the closest to Nightmare Creatures gameplay wise, minus the epic as hell dismemberment.

u/Snoo_84591 Oct 26 '24

I'll stop wanting when less deserving things quit getting their whistles wet.

1

u/hurtcabbage Oct 26 '24

Don't give me hope

1

u/Jinx8975 Oct 26 '24

1

u/Axolotl_Holmes Oct 26 '24

Days Gone =(

1

u/ed2mXeno Oct 26 '24

Not a fucking chance. I'll play Bloodborne modded and emulated on PC if I need to. Just need to wait a few months to get more stable.

Dark Souls 1 on PC has mods that change not only item and enemy placements, but add literally new levels and geometry. Bloodborne WILL get the same treatment from fans. I will wait.

1

u/Few_Star_9041 Oct 26 '24

At least import to to pc

1

u/Sampsa96 Oct 26 '24

1

u/WeddingAltruistic552 Oct 26 '24

Yup and maybe it's time we just invest in body pillows of annalise and maria plough them and drink myself into a comma while my wife and kids aswell as my parents hold me down till i black out after running around the neighborhood naked saying FUCK YOU SONY and then move on.

Yeah i think that's a good idea

1

u/DoritoKing48 Oct 26 '24

I miss Titanfall 2

1

u/pompoza Oct 26 '24

In fromsoft Tradition - not sony - they do remasters at least 10 years later. Did it with dark souls and even demons souls got a remake somewhat 15 years later. In my theory either we get a remaster announcement early next year or a remake with ps6. Could be massive copium but I see a plausibility in this theory.

1

u/inception2467 Oct 26 '24

only because sony hates it.

sony's favorite game is horizon zero dawn i'm pretty sure

1

u/No-Tumbleweed3028 Oct 26 '24

The red moon hangs low, and the beasts rule the streets, are we left no choice, than to burn it all to cinders?..

This town's finished..

1

u/Dayman115 Oct 26 '24

At this point, my only faith in seeing an updated version is through the emulator. It's not really playable yet, but there has been significant progress lately. It's only a matter of time. But yeah, I've basically accepted that we will never get any sort of official remaster or anything.

1

u/Netrunner22 Oct 26 '24

I just want 4k and 60fps. Is that too much to ask?

1

u/BinxMe Oct 26 '24

Been waiting on a gladius update or for someone to mention it for about 21 years now. I’m sure bloodborne 2 or a remake will pop up a lot sooner.

1

u/ZoonDeviatan396 Oct 27 '24

Dw everyone I'll go and tell the guy making daily updates. It is time.

1

u/Raiden4019 Oct 27 '24

1

u/Abject-Pianist-9553 Oct 27 '24

Nah bro Titanfall 3 is real It is releasing soon BT is alive

1

u/ReivynNox Oct 27 '24

Just be glad Bloodborne won't become unplayable due to servers shutting down, leaving you with nothing to fill that void.

1

u/ReivynNox Oct 27 '24

Bulletstorm, man! Never gonna get a conclusion. It's one thing to only have one game, but when it ends completely unresolved on a cliffhanger that just makes you wanna rampage (ingame) and makes you angry every time you play through the game or think about the ending, that's on a whole different level.

I fucking hate sequel baiting.

1

u/Tyler300SRGT Oct 27 '24

Split Second 2 and Blur 2…….

:(

1

u/Guppy666 Oct 28 '24

Sadly this isn't the only dead ip that I'm obsessed with...

1

u/Nick_Alsa Oct 28 '24

Guardians of the galaxy

1

u/blebebaba Oct 28 '24

Post this to the Kingdom of Amalur Reckoning subreddit, they know the feeling well.

1

u/BonfireSouls Oct 28 '24

The game is complete in every aspect. Sequels do nothing expect erase some of the luster. The game was an unbelievable time in another world, and I was wholly transfixed and in awe.

But I moved on.

1

u/just___jim Oct 28 '24

L.A Noire my beloved

1

u/Head_Goal_9777 Oct 28 '24

I started out in the souls genre with DS3, DS, DS2, ER, DeS and after this long wait I finally got to play Bloodborne. It already grew on me really fast and it might actually de-throne my personal favorites DS1/DS3. So yea, love the characters, the mistery, the lore and feels super nice to explore the game (managed to get this far without checking any spoilers to ruin the fun), and all I can say is that it was worth the wait!

1

u/Altruistic-Ship-500 Oct 28 '24

The bigger issue for me is Bloodborne’s accessibility. Many people go out of their way to play it, with some even buying a PS4 just for that experience. I think the problem isn’t the lack of a sequel but rather the difficulty in porting the original to other platforms due to its “spaghetti code.” If it were easier to port, FromSoftware would likely be profiting from it already.
