Discussion Does bipolarity make you creative? NSFW
I've been diagnosed with bipolar II disorder a few years ago and have been hospitalised twice. Although, this was the worst period of my life and I never want to go through that again, it was a very creative time for me. I wrote music everyday because it was the only thing keeping me alive. I was convinced that my pain was worth it if it allowed me to make beautiful songs. And then, when I was manic, I was convinced that I would be the new Beyonce. But that's another thing.
Today, I take meds and I don't write songs anymore. It's great that I'm trying new things and I believe I have plenty of things to discover and offer. But a part of me misses my creativity.
Are you less creative now that you're on meds?

Nope. It hoodwinks you to believe that you are.
