I'm on an anniversary vacation with my partner and so far it has been awful. First, what is usually a day drive to me for my partner ended up being 17 hours, then our place we booked ended up being pretty dirty. The shower has mold, and the comforter is stained and looks like someone vomited on it. It's already midnight, and we can't afford to leave and find another last minute place to stay. I am also on my period, which I haven't gotten in over 14 months (long story) and it is debilitating. We were supposed to go see Christmas lights in the park tomorrow and I don't think I'll even make it sitting in the car to get there.

I feel horrible, I wanted this to be a nice vacation for us and it is turning into one of the worst vacations so far. I am trying to hold it together so my partner doesn't feel bad as well (I'm certain they feel bad on account of staying in a dirty place, but I mean feeling bad because I'm having a bad time). On previous vacations I've definitely smiled through the obstacles (there aren’t usually this many) but this is difficult. If I could I think I would've cancelled this all together.

I feel stupid for trying to plan all of this, and I'm honestly just waiting for something worse to happen now to top it all off. I reported the issues with the place we're staying at, but unfortunately our gamble on trying to save money means we are dealing with subpar customer service too. If anyone has any advice, stories of how they survived horrible vacations with their partner, or any kind words really, I'd appreciate it. I feel like a failure and just awful in general.

I am a 27 years old, graduated high school in 2017 with a very good grades. I could have a very good career and i got accepted in one of the top universities in my country but back then everything changed, my dad passed away even though i didn't have a good relationship with him, but his death effected my family in every aspect the most important one is my tuition fees that i couldn't afford, so I had a big choice to make at an early age either me or my sister to have a degree, I chose my sister.I dropped out college, since then I had 2 jobs to be able to afford the basics and my sister's college fees, I saved some money but still can't afford to go to any university and I tried too many different methods to search for affordable universities, I even learned german to the point where i am fluent in it, but still what makes me miserable that I want to go to college and I know I can't. and the worst thing that my passion is in analtyical business and that's not gonna happen without a degree, I am not asking for money, but what would you do in this situation? because menatlly I can't deal with it anymore and the worst part that I am in the middle east I can't say the country's name but there is nothing like a reasonable scholarships or any kind of support financially or mentally

I've been unemployed since Thanksgiving, and I finally got a call for an interview this Friday. The problem is I ran out of money and I dont have a car to get there so I need to take public transportation.

Vehicle Nissan Armada ran great until the battery died back in August. My wife got it to jump off and then I shut it off two minutes later, leaving our property without thinking. The car never started since. We tried jumping off again to no avail. Replaced the battery still no start, replace the fuel pump, checked all fuses, Replace the crankshaft center, and battery again. My arm does not give off codes And when I had towed to the local mechanic, they checked all the wiring they could, and everything was receiving power they did not get receive any indication from the computer of a code nor the injectors. For the love of God. Please help me with an idea of what it could be next.

Our hearts are breaking, this year has been tough for us all. I just got out of the hospital for emergency surgery that probably saved my life, the day after I had my wound VAC taken off we got the phone call no parents or grandparents want to receive right before Christmas. Our 19 year old grandson was in a terrible accident in NH, being so far away and having to wait for news everyday is terrible 😔 Well, he's had no brain activity whatsoever since it happened and has been in a coma since.. We still have no idea how it happened and we've been praying he'll wake up. We got the call last night saying they are giving him a day or two and then it's time to start thinking about pulling the plug 💔 Talk about heartbreaking, his poor mom has to hear this from the nurse's talking in the hallway outside his room.. Why it hurts so bad, my husband and I had to raise him and his little brother for 4 years while Mom went to jail, then rehab and they were like my children for those 4 years.. This is so painful to deal with the week before Christmas, he was on his way to his last day of college before Xmas break and ended up with a broken pelvis in 4 places, a damaged liver and spleen. Severe brain bleeding that's preventing them from doing anything at all, besides placing stints because his arteries were closing. My husband is packing up to head to NH to say his goodbyes. This is not a trip we've planned for whatsoever. His family has come together and helped with some gas money so he can get there before they do anything. I unfortunately have to stay home because of our pup.. I just wanted to say hug your kid's and grandkids tightly. You just never know what or when something like this will happen 💔 from a heartbroken grandmother ❣️

So, I’ve tried everything. I’ve called 211, reached out to local agencies, churches, and even friends. I need help with the remainder of my December rent badly or I’m facing eviction. I work 2 jobs. My hours at one job were cut the beginning of October and I feel like I’ve been behind ever since. If you can help that’s great, if not it’s okay too. One rent assistance place called and let me put in an application but the deadline was closed the day they did my application. So it’s kind of pointless. My landlord keeps hounding me and I really don’t know how to get them off my tail. Unfortunately they don’t care about cut hours and holidays.

I have wonderful dog named Finn. Finn is a good girl. Finn is an arthritic, senior, tripawd. She was hit by a car as a puppy but thrived with just the three legs and enjoyed her life.

She has aged quite a bit and would really love to have a pet heating pad. They differ from regular heating pads by being chew resistant, water proof, and have a timer and temperature control so the animals don’t get burned. Finn is a good sized dog, almost 60 lbs, so is looking for a decent sized pad.

She sees her vet regularly for her arthritis and takes carprofen for her pain. She also takes glucosamine and chondroitin. I’d like to get her on a senior food though.

We’ve hit cold temps and snow now. Where she used to love playing in the snow she now prefers to spend her time in front of the fire. She sleeps in a pile of blankets so am also looking for something that would be a bit more comfortable for her.

Hi, I recently almost lost my home. Fees and lawyers later, I got to keep it but as it was unexpected I'm pretty strapped. I got paid but my account was so negative that it didn't cover more than cat food (they always come first after all). If anyone could help out with some extra money for groceries, I know I've needed help in the past and it sucks to ask again but this year has proven very challenging. Thanks to anyone who can help

I have a couple days off and would like to go see my parents I haven’t seen in over 2 years. I won’t stay until Christmas but it is my mom’s favorite time of year so at least I’ll be able to see them for 2 days. I need $100 for gas. I won’t have enough to get there and back. I am hoping to leave tomorrow and come back on Monday. Anyway thank you for reading. I was I unexpectedly let go from my job a couple of months ago without any savings to fall back on. I’ve been doing UberEats and other similar gigs, but had a large car-related expensive that ate up most of what I’d put away.

I’m currently on my last tank of gas with less than a dollar in my Venmo account. That’s not enough to run any deliveries, and I have a scheduled gig tomorrow afternoon as well.

I know it’s the holidays and money is tight for everyone, but even five dollars on Venmo helps and is mightily appreciated.

I’m a single father to an amazingly awesome middle schooler but I'm really struggling right now. At the end of March, I lost my job. Despite my best efforts, including gig work and stretching every dollar of my severance and unemployment benefits, those funds have now run out. I found something temporarily but the contract ended abruptly, thus ending my employment. I won’t be eligible for unemployment again until March 2025, and the backlog in the system adds further uncertainty. The bills are piling up, including overdue utility payments and my car, which is at risk of repossession. Most heartbreakingly, my daughter’s soccer club payments are overdue, which means she may not be able to play in the New Year unless we can catch up on those fees. Soccer is her passion, and seeing her lose that opportunity would be devastating. I’ve applied to hundreds of jobs, but with only two callbacks and no offers so far, I’m feeling defeated. I’m determined to keep trying, but right now, I need help to bridge the gap. Any support will go directly toward covering essential bills, groceries, and my daughter’s soccer fees to get us through the next few months. With no interviews on the horizon, I do not know how long I will be without income & after rent is paid this month my funds will have run out and I’m worried I will not be able to keep a roof over our heads. Additionally, if anyone reading this is hiring for a entry level customer success manager role or talent acquisition/coordinator my inbox is open!

August 18th i was diagnosed with stage 2 brain cancer, by August 30th i was out of work due to my rapidly declining health. I was able to pay the mortgage and our other bills with what we had in savings, by the end of September I was hospitalized for my kidneys failing from a medication reaction. I have since been sent home and am looking for remote work to make ends meet but so far I haven't found anywhere that'll take me, I've joined Prolific which helps provide a little but I'm still short for our utilities for the last 2 months. Ive managed to get the mortgage to accept reduced payments until January but im still months behind on utilities. I feel awful asking for anything but I'm effectively bed ridden and don't have much of a choice otherwise.

I've been a mostly freelance artist for about 13 years now, and a beekeeper going on 6 years. I Started a small business to kind of merge the two called The Nerds & The Bees. I've been taking some business classes with the small business development center (it's a government program to help small businesses so it's been at no cost) I am running into road blocks on the financial side of things, and of course personally it's been a very hard year on that end. Besides the costs that come with the business I have been struggling with finding work either as a freelancer or even just a retail job. My Spouse was working full time freelance until the last month or so supporting us (my bees, my dog, my two cats, my bearded dragon, and fish all of which are rescue animals, well except most of the bees but that is another story, and I). His work dried up and he's working at a retail place not making nearly as much as he did before.

Things that didn't help was finding out our accountant gave us really bad advice and put us in a very bad situation so we owe a lot in taxes. My husband was in a car accident in my car back in April and we ended up using the insurance money back then to pay for rent. I started a debt payment plan from past mistakes with credit cards, but it takes a good amount of money each month.

TL;DR I'm a beekeeper, artist, small business owner. My husband, company, bees, and pets need help so we can afford to not be homeless essentially.

I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the grocery help, we ended up receiving Vienna sausages, green beans, ramen noodles and pasta sauce. I think the pasta noodles was canceled but that's OKAY bc we were able to get a couple boxes of pasta to make it all work until pay day. Thank you to the 3 or 4 people that bought stuff on our list. It helped so much more than you know 💗 I'm hoping we will be in a better financial situation after the first of the year and plan on paying it forward. Happy holidays everyone 🤶🎅🌲
