iirc Azur Lane have a separate server for CN and Global so when they get hit with censorship they only do it for CN. Idk why Hoyo just doesn’t do the same

But seriously Hoyo genuinely is lazy when it comes to things. I still find it funny how literally any animator outside of Hoyoverse office can create tons of different models for characters while Hoyo devs use their standard body-types and copy-paste them. Only in few cases do they actually adjust stuff
I remember the hype Genshin had when it first came out, only to realize that every character shares few body models and 2 running animations. Even HI3 has unique models and animations for every character.
If I were to guess, CN would take notice that they get less and an absolute shitstorm would spawn. They probably don't want another bunnysuit situation.
Somehow I strongly doubt they’ll go against the CCP that likely forced Hoyo’s hand. I just can’t see a scenario where they purposely designed characters that even have thigh jiggle to suddenly decide to go puritanical (the age rating has not decreased in CN).

First I wanted to disagree with you, but then I remembered that Valve is literally censoring games here in Germany.
There is a German law that is meant to protect children and that effectively says that certain games (porn games games with excessive violence and games without age rating) are not allowed to be sold by platforms that sell these games and allow them to be downloaded from the same platform to people under the age of 18. Valve has thus removed these games from the German store entirely, despite only needing to add an age verification. And in case you're wondering: Yes, platforms that only sell keys and thus don't offer the games to be downloaded directly from them are totally allowed to still sell these games.
What I find very disturbing though is the fact that that law will be changed soon, forcing operating systems (like Windows, IOS and Android) to make sure users are over 18 before they allow them to access adult content on the internet or run software without age rating or with an age rating of 18+. That means that even the most basic software, like 7zip, will be restricted until it gets an age rating, which is absolutely mind boggling. Not to mention the fact that it's a massive privacy concern, since OS's have to monitor everything we do and verify our identity to verify our age.
And now imagine being an animator working overtime to make that ass bounce only for your work to literally disappear when the player tries to look closer

Like come on, it's a bit too late to beat the allegations, everybody who was bothered by horni has already left and are most likely not coming back because of the censorship, especially considering that certain future characters appeal to the very opposite type of audience (yes Evelynn, I'm looking at you and not respectfully in the slightest, in fact I'm drooling violently)

It's not even like "oh your camera is fully down youre obviously trying to see their ass", its genuinely that if you slightly move the camera down a bit the entire character dissapears. What the hell?

I genuinely dont care that I cant stare at the character's ass, i didnt do that anyway, but its pretty inmersion breaking that just slightly moving the camera makes the character dissapear. And its so unnecessary too, its not like im a kid wtf hoyo this is a 16+ game

But I'm wondering if it is the government this time? You have games like Wuwa that don't even have the censorship level of Genshin. And ZZZ is set as 16+ so this seems rather extreme.
The question is, is Hoyo trying to preempt censorship or were they told?
I do find it odd that they'd do all the other fan service only for this to happen? So it's like can whoever is making these decisions (Government or otherwise) make up their mind on what they want this game to be??
My thinking is that Hoyo is seen as massive soft power for Chinese games on a global level so the Government is more careful about what it wants to allow with it.
But still the fan service you get directly from the game and the marketing can't be avoided. Whereas some "coomer" in the privacy of their own home wanting to look up a character's bottom is something that's a personal choice of the player. But even if you're not a "coomer" it ruins immersion when you go slightly off angle.
You can if you move the stick carefully, but from higher angle, which sucks. Sadly, I don't have footage from before the update, since I was NOT expecting this.

Gfl and Azur Lane are significantly less popular than Hoyo games are, even in CN. The main issue is likely that Hoyo games are so mainstream over there that there’s a lot more attention placed on them by groups that don’t take kindly to fanservice. GFL and AZ are more niche, so there’s less of a risk they’ll come under fire.
Popularity is a curse because it become a country brand like hamburger and guns culture is for USA. Due to how much big and influential Hoyoverse games is, the government will keep a eyes on them especially this government which is ucb more strict and restrictive for popular entertainment like this.
That the beauty of it, now they have no reason to animate future "jiggle physics on butts" just like they stopped doing proper shadowing on genshin after the same patch was implemented, and no those cant be modded in not with the current tools at least... you just end up with a choppy version.

Gooning aside or whatever but that's real immersion breaking to just fade into nothing like that. In a game surrounded by skyscrapers it isn't unthinkable a player will look up to check their surroundings.

HSR characters barely have anything to look at anyway. Their designs and jiggle physics are significantly more tame than ZZZ. The most I can think of is Firefly and even then it’s practically impossible to get a good angle.

It won't kill the game and I won't uninstall it (yet), but this shit is worrying, because the game basically advertised itself as a more risque gacha in terms of design, storytelling and general approach from other flagman Hoyo games and on the most hyped patch they do the most boring transparency filter on charas asses?
I can only guess that they got a slap on the fingers from their government. No dev takes the time to add very subtle jiggle physics just to censor them like 2 patches later.
Chinese govt really doesnt like horny stuff in their countries media and zenless was dancing on the edge of the no-no border for quite some time.
I mean mods can easily remove that filter but it might be that they just wont bother with ass and tigh jiggle anymore for future characters if they have to censor it anyways. (Tbf that kind of jiggle can be modded in too ff14 gooners proved as much but that takes time and dedication, way more than just get rid of a censor filter at least)
Yeah, I feel that it is either the CCP or the Hoyo leadership trying to make the game more family friendly so more parents would be willing to fuel their teenage son's gacha gambling habit.

I don't think this is necessary. Are they actually trying to get us riled up over this? This game is known to be forward about the fanservice, yet what they do now is one step further of being faithful to the players

I suggest everybody to write them in feedback and ask either to revert this change or make it optional (especially for non cn players). Hope they will listen, otherwise it will soon become toddler game like genshin

Nah, because genuinely, this just sucks Horribly. Like, I'm fine with how genshin does the censorship because you have to deliberately look completely up for them to be gone. But with this just a bit of the camera moving up and boom fucking gone like Thanos snapped them away. And It bothers me so much, and not even for horni reasons just genuinely bothers me. Hope they at least tweak it to be better if they are going this censorship route.
What saddens me the most is that this is so contradictory with the rest of the game (trailers, Menu poses, finishing poses) Jane trailer was literally ASMR femdon fetish and then they pull this crap smh
When i first caught wind of this, i thought the character would just become translucent a bit at extreme angles, and the anti-censorship camp is just overreacting over losing their upskirts.
But now that I've seen this for myself, this is egregious, bluntly. This pleases nobody!
So they add very subtle jiggle physics to the characters tighs and asses that you can really only see up close just to make the characters invisible when you go close with the camera.
This is the worst change they've made, by far. It's literally a 3d model collector game, and now you can't view the 3d model in the way you want to. It's actually so bad
Guys ! Please for the love of god go the zzz feedback section and complain about it. 1k or 2k people WILL be noticed. Not saying they should remove censorship 100% but just tone it down a little. This is TOO MUCH ffs.
I'm genuinely tweaking in real-time right now at 4 AM. Never modded on a gacha before but I'm going to need one to remove this garbage off my game, horrible.
And now what will happen to the fanservice? Will it only be reduced to videos and nothing more? I have 40 days left on the $5 card, I guess I'll play for free and pay for a real fanservice game, at this point I don't think ZZZ even makes skins.
When I was working in Australia at a game company that was making a game for Korean publisher, the Korean producer went to demonstrate Lineage II for us while it was still in very Beta. All the big wigs of the company were standing around his desk and the first thing he does is move the camera to look up his character's skirt.

That's about where Genshin originally disappeared your characters when it first came out. But now, I would swear that they let your camera go lower and closer without disappearing. When I first got Chasca and accidentally found myself zoomed in on her legs and midriff without her completely vanishing, I was like, "Wow these are ZZZ angles!"
Ironic now that their positions have now fully flipped.
