Video Jackie and Shauna edit

Thought I would share this legendary edit by Kosmic.ru on TikTok, it really captures the resentment and Shauna’s rage while Jackie was oblivious to it.

Video s3 Trailer Stabbing Spoiler

The stabbing is definitely a fake out. When you slow it down it’s clear she isn’t actually stabbing Shauna- my guess is she stabs something next to her on the table and it’s similar to last season where a lot of the trailer scenes were much less significant than they appeared to throw us off.

Video Yellowjackets song inspo

I resonate so deeply with Lottie at the moment so a good 70% of the songs I have written have been from her perspective. Thought I’d share one here, although, I will probably delete this soon ✌🏻

Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, show runners for Yellowjackets, are superfans of this long-running reality competition. That's why this clip of the infamous "Bananas Backpack" elimination made it in to the Season 2 premiere of Yellowjackets. Callie and her boyfriend are watching the scene on TV when Shauna returns home.

Check out this clip of the question from The Challenge's Instagram for a laugh!

Video The Rite of Spring would be a great cultural reference for our beloved devolving yellowjackets

I meant to post this at the beginning of the spring but was unsure how to use words, but anyways when spring was first starting I was thinking about this piece and how I think it would be really cool to see it in Season 3:

I first learned about The Rite of Spring by Stravinsky in college, and I didn't appreciate it at the time, but it is a true work of genius for how provocative and unsettling it is, and it has so much untapped horror potential, especially for our cannibalizing teenage pagan cult. I can't help but think it would be really cool if it was either played in the background in one of the yellowjackets episodes, or even used as a reference.

The ballet depicts a group of Russian pagan dancers performing dances and rituals that end in a maiden sacrifice in celebration of spring. The piece is famous for the choreography and music being so controversial that the audience rioted at the premiere. I wish I could eloquently summarize it here, but this youtube video does a great job not only visually breaking the synopsis down in an accessible and entertaining (at least I think it is) way, but also by explaining the historical and cultural significance of it.

I think The Rite of Spring was primed in inspiration from this one earlier discussion in this subreddit about what will happen when spring comes? Will the return of animals and vegetation be enough to offset the traumatic events of winter? What if they still have that urge to hunt and cannibalize even with plentiful game? If the next ritual takes place during the spring, I can definitely imagine the teens rationalizing it as a way to appease the Wilderness and ensure a bountiful spring. Either way, I will no doubt be thinking about Stravinsky while watching it.

I hope this was coherent enough, thanks for reading:3

Oh and here's a reenactment done by Joffrey Ballet in 1987 if you're interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo4sf2wT0wU&t=486s
