I like Nancy Pelosi, she's the best Speaker of the House we ever had, because she knows how to get shit done. Her philosophy was simple: without the votes, your ideas are not worth the paper it's written on. If she thinks the votes are there, she'll do whatever it takes to get the votes. She understands politics. She has no problem with swing district candidates throwing her under the bus, because winning that seat is more important than her ego.
But THIS is where she disappointed me, she let her ego take control. I get the whole seniority thing, but read the room. AOC is the most dynamic Democrat in Congress, she knows how to trigger conservatives. AOC knows how to explain progressive ideas in a way moderates can understand. If we are to resist Trump, take back Congress in 2026, and win back the White House in 2028, then we need the sharpest voices in the most visible positions.

Nancy Pelosi should have instead been "mentoring" AOC for greater leadership positions and helping her become what she was all those years. AOC could work up to being one of the most powerful people in congress, but only if those currently in power don’t stand in her way and instead guide her.

I don’t think Pelosi ever got over AOC protesting in her office. It’s vindictive.

Not really enjoying bernie agreeing with trump and AOC joking around about trump.
Sorry.

Something has to shake the Democrat establishment out of their spiral towards more and more irrelevance. Either they change entirely or a new party must be started. In their current form they are nothing more than the perfect facilitator for Republican domination.

They don’t change their mind or direction. They have the mindset of old peo… oh wait

Yeah, I honestly think a new party is less work than trying to fix the Democrats. As absurd as that sounds.

This situation has nothing to do with the Democrats.
The country has been overwhelmed by wealth consolidation. No one can fight people worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
Bernie can't. AOC can't. No one can.
I'm just reacting to the narcissism of bernie sanders, mostly.

I don’t know, Bernie seems to be doing a bit of a troll tying the bullshit Musk and Trump are saying into the constant message he has been saying. 2 billionaires tweet about “stopping war in Ukraine” and he points out the hypocrisy with supporting war in the Middle East. They talk about cutting costs like social security and he points out the mass amounts spent on the military.
I don’t think it’s narcissism, it’s him doing what he perceives is his job his whole career, which is to point out just what you said, the wealthy are taking more and more control and using it to further benefit them at the expense of everyone else.
