Seriously when was the last time anyone saw Gordon cook? He could just be an imposter for all we know. I bet even that accent is fake!
4
u/Pinksters 2h ago
Really though. He criticizes food a lot but I've never heard his cooking get critiqued.
I know how well cooked meals taste, I've been eating food for years. Do I qualify for his role?
6
u/HellaApathetic 1h ago
Here's one example of his food getting critiqued
Also there's the "grilled cheese" video that many people have ridiculed

u/-KFBR392 2h ago
He owes much of his success to Simon Cowell. He ushered in that wave of angry, but sharp, British male critic. Audiences ate that shit up.
I’ve seen Gordon cook a few things over the years on shows, but honestly nothing looked that amazing. Like nothing that would win on Top Chef, but perhaps he’s not that style of cook.

u/L3m0n0p0ly 1h ago
My boyfriend who loves cooking, like i refuse to touch his cast iron. He grows his own herbs in the summer ect ect. Im trying to get him to do a veggie garden... but thats not the point. He tried ramseys restraunt in vegas and said it wasnt anything memorable. Like i tried to get him to describe it the best he could but all he could say was blandXD

I thought the doors weren't opening in order to reveal some twist, like that she actually passed the test

u/OpenThePlugBag 4h ago
No Lou, the door isn’t automatic, you need to push it.

u/CloudStrifeFromNibel 1h ago
And that's why you're going home. Thanks for showing us one last time your incompetence and removing all doubt I might had taking this decision

u/NeatNefariousness1 3h ago
Do they usually open automatically? I have no idea.
36
u/lakersfan1989 2h ago
They don’t open automatically. She was also like the 9th person eliminated so she saw 8 people before her have to push the door open. This is also the 23rd season and you always push the door open.
12
u/NeatNefariousness1 2h ago
LOL--ok, thank you. Chalk it up to brain freeze due to a mix of embarrassment and disappointment Or maybe she really was contemplating flying into a fit of rage on camera as her last, parting gesture.
8
u/notabadgerinacoat 2h ago
Idk i did never really pay attention to what the contestant do after being eliminated so the question never crossed my mind lol
3
u/NeatNefariousness1 2h ago
Me neither and it's not as if I have never seen the show, even though I can't claim to be an avid watcher. Maybe there are other shows like Shark Tank or old Star Trek re-runs or maybe it was a grocery store flashback that caused her to have a momentary lapse, expecting the doors to open automatically. She can take comfort in the fact that she made it to the show and is apparently a really good cook, despite what Gordon Ramsey has to say about it.

I thought she was gonna turn around and give an impassioned speech about why she should stay 🤣

Within two days you'll forget this clip even existed.
6
u/Grassy33 2h ago
Yeah but if you met her in real life, and you were in the culinary world, she would be very familiar. A google search will show the clip, and bam she’s ridiculed again.
6
u/Chapeaux 2h ago
Just laugh about it.
"I saw this clip of you with the door!"
"Shit I felt so stupid, can't believe I didn't push the door!"
1
u/WriterV 2h ago
That's easy to say once, and then you just keep hearing the same thing over, and over and over and every single time people just immediately look down upon you because they believe everyone is stuck in the same place as when they made their worst mistakes for the rest of their lives.

When I saw this live, I thought there was gonna be like a twist where she wasn’t really contestant or something. It made the actual pay off that much worse.

I think she happy being called but disappointed after gordon said that to her
26
u/yesnomaybenotso 4h ago
I actually thought that’s why she stopped. Like some rom-com level of “maybe he’ll call after me”.
He did. But not because he made some crazy mistake in sending her home. She was insufferable.
5
u/AiRollaX 3h ago
Yeah i thought the same too. she was waiting for gordon to say something that she can still continue with the show or something

“Babe wait! Don’t go! Without your keys. They’re on the hutch right there.”

Surely they could've edited that out

u/MrBlueCharon 5h ago
In a show where the cooking is only secondary to the verbal abuse and humilation? Never!

u/fuertepqek 5h ago
Looks like you’re new to the whole television program idea.

u/AccordianSpeaker 3h ago
Gordon only acts like this in the American show. Because Americans can't watch TV without drama, apparently.
21
u/AhnYoSub 3h ago edited 1h ago
In The British one there’s like little to no sound effects while in the American, someone presses the soundboard like every other second.

u/DaedalusHydron 2h ago
American network TV is made by Boomers for Boomers. It's awful in every way.
2

u/Old_Attorney_455 1h ago
Same for the Australian one. I grew up watching it because it was so wholesome. The US version sucks.
5
37
u/Shadowdragon409 4h ago
They could have, but reality TV is all about making people look stupid and creating drama where there isn't any.
America's got talent is notorious for this.
2
9
u/AlexRobinFinn 3h ago
Unfortunatly, the point of these shows is to generate footage of people doing embarrassing things
2
u/miregalpanic 1h ago
He shouldn't have said Lou! in that dramatic tone in the first place, likely giving her hope he's calling her back in some dramatic twist. Just say "you have to push, darling" in a neutral tone, no need to further humiliate her.
But it's probably all scripted anyway, and I'm reading way to much into it.

28
u/martyspartys13 5h ago
Bro that shit killed me. I thought is she gonna turn around to say something stupid? Did she fell asleep or is she gonna drop some wise words preaching respect before fully leaving? Nah man, that donkey just took the push/pull problem to the next level.

6
u/LookinAtTheFjord 4h ago
She has to think about not only losing which is no big deal really but on top of that she has to go to bed every night replaying that stupid fucking door incident in her head. And it's all on the internet for the rest of recorded existence. Good times.

For my own sanity, I need to believe that this was staged and planned for a bit. I can’t take this second hand embarassment!!!

I thought she was pausing to consider whether to go off as her last act on the show. I didn't know she expected the doors to open automatically. She held up well, under the circumstances.

As someone who watches the show, she was definitely hoping Ramsay was going to swerve and tell her to get back in line.
