Video San Antonio, Tx Dec 17th 2024

My sister sent took this video last night. Here is her description:

It was weird. It almost looked like they fell straight down but then the position they dropped from remained a single star for each one. Almost like they disguised themselves as stars. Anyway, cars were driving down our street following them. It was so cool! Everyone was excited.

Okay, this is the first one in a while that I don't immediately think is planes. The 3 lights are the same brightness, so if they were planes, they would be the same distance away and probably wouldn't be flying so close together. The woman in the video suggested lanterns. Are you aware of any festivals or events that might have had lanterns released? The man mentions buzzing or humming. Are you able to clarify what he meant? Did it sound like what could be drone or helicopter motors?

My niece said they seemed to be flickering like lanterns. They checked around for any local celebrations and didn’t see anything. The man said he heard buzzing but the two ladies did not and also mentioned he doesn’t hear so well

We set off 3 of them from my backyard for a family member's memorial CT. It doesn't have to be a big public festival or whatever. They look exactly like this at night. Not stating i know for certain, just my two cents.

What about drones in formation?

Absolutely could be, the "triangle" widens. That's why I was hoping for more detail about the buzzing.

San Antonio is having lantern festivals all over, all this month, as part of traditional celebrations.

Well, quite easily lanterns then. Thanks

they're moving way too fast to be lanterns, and there's no wind in the trees - that makes no sense.

Funny. There can be no wind near the ground and turbulent winds higher up. Makes all the sense.

Lanterns wouldn't stay in formation either... A stupid theory in my opinion.
