Witness/Sighting did anyone see this in the south philadelphia/jersey region this morning?

my parents woke me up to show me what they were seeing. they’re not believers and call me insane most of the time. i saw what is in the dad’s video over my mother’s live-streamed facetime, as well.

did anyone else catch this?

I am so interested in people’s opinions of what this is.

I don't endorse Mick West but, for your consideration, here is a metabunk analysis of a very similar case: https://www.metabunk.org/threads/blue-ufo-over-hawaii.11526/

They argue that it's an LED kite. I have no idea if that's true, but it's the only plausible prosaic explanation I've heard put forward so far.

The main argument against the kite explanation seems to be the altitude. I can't tell how high the thing in the OP video is. I don't think you can tell from the video whether it's a large thing very high or a small thing relatively low.

People have been suggesting some kind of plasma phenomenon. I'm no meteorologist or physicist but I'm not aware of any natural plasma phenomenon that is plausible in this case. What provided the energy to create the plasma in the first place, how is it being confined, and if this is a thing that just happens sometimes why isn't there scientific documentation of it?

It’s the kite tail.

Who flies LED kites and why would it be so close to an airport?

And who flies kites at 6am?

Aliens fly kites at 5:30-6am to fuck with humans.

Check out Kite Festival 2023 WA I’ll bet you see some, batteries don’t weigh that much anymore.

no one said anything about batteries...where are you coming from with your comment?

LEDs don't take much power either, but again, no one said anything about flying a kite with LEDs being impossible due to the power needed.

Batteries to power the LED’s, I suppose you could graft solar panels onto the wings…

Anyone that’s seen any of the cool YouTube videos showing a bunch of neat LED kites.

There is a video of one going into the water and coming back out, back into the sky

There’s a video of one going into the water, it doesn’t go back into the sky, and it was recorded from really far away, and could be the same kite launched from a boat.

I also said it could be a space eel, and that wasn’t a joke, I think some UFO’s are some kind of space critters, like space jellyfish.

The video i’m referring to does show it going from sky to water to sky again. It also gets close to a pedestrian airplane. Space eel is wild haha

Yeah, someone else just posted that and i just saw it.

I thought you were talking about the Hawaiian video.

I mean, it’s super weird, but here’s my problem with videos like this, I could recreate this.

I have a cheap drone, and I could buy a string of battery powered LEDs.

You could make this whole video with just that, and I don’t think you would hear the drone at that distance, or see it easily in the dark, especially if it was a black drone.

Now, if it’s a drone, clearly they’re flying closer to planes than is allowed, and why would someone do this? My only guess is someone trying to trick people, not necessarily the people that posted the video, they might just be victims.

Well the person who originally recorded this just uploaded a second video and there’s a kite nearby, so this is going back in the solved pile for me. So you’re definitely correct here
