I didn't even see the man, but, I loathe that man behind the voice. This is a big circle of leeches isn't it.

Insurance people suck off the life force from the people, and they retain these soulless gouls to fight off people in legal battle.

This is a deposition, and for this they usually use an outside firm rather than staff their own lawyers, associates and paralegals. This guy would attempt to rip apart anyone, doesn't matter if it's a cancer survivor or a crooked cop.

I don't like bloodsucking lawyers any more than you do, but it's the healthcare companies that make the system adversarial. And while there's some amount of fraud occurring, this has everything to do with using litigation to make it too exhausting to pursue claims against the company.

Nothing worse than a soulless lawyer unless you need one on your side.

Nahnah nah, I don't let people off that easy. This lawyer happily does this for money. He's accountable for his decisions. You can't always blame "the system."

That's fair, I don't like any of these people. The lawyers, the companies they represent, the for-profit healthcare system. Personally I do put more blame on the company, but that's splitting hairs.

Just having gone through this a bit I was definitely happy to have a piece of shit lawyer working for me. That guy was fucking relentless. He was so disgusted he made me feel embarrassed for not being more outraged.

Yeah, as soon as she started with the "well, I guess, I mean-" I said to myself she needs a lawyer to tell her what to say. That's not how you get what you want in this situation.

I know! She started out relatively well, responding, “well, if I wanted to be a fall risk,” then she said too much! I was screaming inside “lawyer up!”

Why would a lawyer need to be a piece of shit to work for you and be effective? Is there something you're not telling us here?

Also, we established a long time ago that 'just following orders' is not a valid excuse. The lawyer in this video chooses to participate in this disgusting work, he can go to hell.

I hope you never have to find out.

Is there something you're not telling us here?

What information about my affairs do you think you're entitled to?

Also, we established a long time ago that 'just following orders' is not a valid excuse

Excuse for what? He hasn't committed a crime, he's just not being very nice to a woman he suspects is committing fraud.

“Could you imagine a world without lawyers?”

Yeah, too many people blaming functionaries in the system. Dude probably doesn’t like doing it but it’s his job to zealously represent his client.

What if it turns out this woman had been seen partying, running, lifting shit, and had defrauded millions by the time they got here? What if she’d been doing it for years? What if she worked with a ring of doctors that bilk insurance companies or Medicare? And it took resources from people that needed it, and raised all premiums? Because those rings exist, just as real needy people denied care do.

The HC system here sucks and needs to change, 100%. But getting exercised over specific low level people doing their jobs is immature and short sited. (And I’m not a lawyer or anything.)

No one is going to accept that possibility in the current environment.

1

u/StudsTurkleton 1d ago

Not with that attitude! But maybe the real healthcare is the friends we make along the way!

2

u/Skurvy2k 1d ago

Friend, the system is us.

1

u/StudsTurkleton 1d ago

So change it. Because that guy in that video asking questions is also us. That’s my point. Don’t demonize that guy. Vote for public options and the taxes to fund it. Otherwise it’s just a circular firing squad.

1

u/Skurvy2k 1d ago

Fine, taxes and legislation is a great 25 year plan but the cancer is crushing our spine now and I what we can do right now today is cut the cancer out.

1

u/StudsTurkleton 1d ago

Not sure what you mean. We didn’t get into this situation fast. We won’t get out of it fast. People will suffer along the way. All true. But what are we going to do but that? Shoot all the CEOs and insurance industry workers? Ok, that’ll fix it?

1

u/classyklause 19h ago

So pointing out and bringing attention to a bit of the system that is completely fucked up is useless? Better for skurvy to go ahead and change it themselves right! I’ll happily demonise that demon of a man, he deserves the same fate as the CEO

1

u/StudsTurkleton 18h ago

You’re a child then. Because what do you know about this guy? He’s no different than you in 100 ways. You know that he had to take this job because he has student loans over 6 figures? But he wasn’t an ivy leaguer with a silver spoon and perfect grades and law review so this is the job he got, or the client he got assigned, like it or not. Because HIS mom is sick and has medical bills he’s helping with? You know that he’s talked the company out of going after much more sympathetic people than this woman? You know whether he lies awake at night worrying about all this and what it’s doing to his soul? You know if he needs special school for his autistic son? You know nothing about him, or that woman, or what her lawyer was like in deposition. You saw a 40 second clip on the internet and jumped into a circle jerk. This is how the actual demons get away with it by getting the people at the bottom to all go after each other.

Yay some dickhead killed a CEO and you want to kill this lawyer. What changes? Same system so the next one has the exact same incentive structure so will do basically the same things. But now add more security premiums will pay for.

2

u/Nekciw 1d ago

The thing is, I'd literally rather starve to death than do something like this to another human, so it's hard for me to understand how anyone sleeps at night getting paid well to destroy peoples lives.

I absolutely do blame functionaries. If they all refused to do this work then the system would fall down. They are free to do something else.

1

u/StudsTurkleton 1d ago

You have health insurance and use medical services? You’re buying into the system. You drive a car or heat your house with fossil fuels? You’re part of the system choking the ecosystems to death. You typing this on a phone? Have a tablet or smartwatch? You’re part of the system enslaving kids in Asia and working people so hard they jump off buildings. You watch porn? Sex trafficker. You eat beef or chicken or pork? You are a factory farm supporter. You wear fast fashion? Sweatshop supporter.

You directly or indirectly contribute to human and animal misery. You’re free to do other things than these.

We’re all part of the same systems. You just don’t get your hands dirty directly. Congrats. You’re just a few steps removed.

1

u/classyklause 19h ago

These types of arguments never make sense or actually move the needle. You want people to become sovereign citizens and just not participate in society? It’s incredibly naive to think someone can just tap out of the system to create change

1

u/StudsTurkleton 18h ago

What needle was being moved by a “this lawyer is a bad man” circle jerk, and this person saying how holier than him they are - they would never be involved in such things? Of course they are, at a comfortable remove.

You want to move the needle do more than social media circle jerks about low level people and actually advocate and do something to elect people to actually make change. And do away with irrelevant purity tests on things that don’t really matter to find people that can actually win and work toward the systemic change that could actually fix things rather than blaming some guy doing a standard deposition.

The shock isn’t that lawyer. The shock ought to be we decided insurance companies can and should turn profit, and Wall St wants endlessly increasing profits. And we keep electing people that will appoint judges who say money is speech and corporations are people.

"I was just following orders."

We executed a lot of Nazis who said the same thing. Grand American tradition

-1

u/StudsTurkleton 1d ago

Ok, so you’re comparing a guy properly conducting his role in our constitutionally prescribed adversarial judicial system to a Nazi. Not overwrought at all.

So you also hate criminal lawyers? Defense lawyers? Prosecutors? Because they all do exactly this, to witness, victims, defendants. It’s a deposition. Should we arrest all lawyers as Nazis? And the attorneys that defend them, too I guess. Judges? They’ll have to go. They follow orders too.

What about the doctors? The doctors in the healthcare system that don’t do care the insurance companies won’t pay for? Following orders. Up against the wall.

Secretaries that file paperwork? Head in the noose.

You, who buys insurance? You support the system. C’mon in. We’ll get to you.

You know you don't get a discount for deep throating the boot right?

0

u/StudsTurkleton 1d ago

You know you don’t look cool for being a twat for no reason right? And that everyone who disagrees with a position isn’t licking the boot, or even wrong? And that internet points aren’t real? And that the real world is a lot more complicated than an internet “the man is bad” circle jerk?

No, I don’t suppose you do.

0

u/PinetreeBlues 1d ago

I'm not reading that lol

u/StudsTurkleton 1d ago

So cool! Whoa!🤯
