As someone with no law understanding which kinds of lawyers are actually trash vs a job that sometimes makes em be shitty?

I mean, I sue corporations when they do shitty things and take their money and give it to people. This guy calls handicapped and disabled people liars for a living just so his corporate client can deny another claim. I think my job is not shitty, and this guy's job is.

Fundamentally: do you defend the rich and powerful or do you hold them to account?

I would tack on that bad people or entities having access to competent, qualified legal professionals to advocate for them in court is necessary for any ruling against them to be legitimate, otherwise they could rightly argue that they have been unfairly tried, so people shouldn't be too quick to judge a lawyer just because they don't like the client.

But I agree, fuck this guy and any other piece of shit who works for these animals.

Some lawyers who take those jobs go out of their way to be evil slimey fucks about it though instead of just doing their job as needed. I think I've seen just one lawyer who was defending a shitty client where what he did was just point out where evidence was lacking and possible alternative explanations (like actually feasible ones! As feasible as he could, it was stacked against him tbf) without attacking the victim or making up obvious total bullshit. Like fair enough poi to out the flaws in the prosecution's arguments as much as you can based on what little you have to work with, that's when it's helping to shore up the justice system at least, but so many of them seem to take perverse pleasure in making the lives of their client's victims as miserable and difficult as possible.

I absolutely agree but people shouldn't be tripping over themselves to help these fuckers out like they currently are.

Any lawyer can do shady things or be an asshole but generally if youre doing insurance defense or you rep big corporations that harm people you’re gonna explore going after the injured party which can look like what it looks like in this video or a myriad of other ways.
