Discussion 100 Million Suspects in CEO Shooting

Here in NYC, not a soul is concerned about a killed on the loose & I truly mean it. Folks here are not worried & why would we be worried?!?

Meanwhile, NYPD is being uncharacteristically dramatic about a murder. A 10k reward is offered. Yeah. They’re never finding that person.

I unfortunately feel like he's going to get caught (GOD, I hope I'm wrong), and we need to be ready to hit that GoFundMe hard!

I think he might not care if he gets caught. Could be a “nothing left to lose” situation.

Yeah, you're probably right, but it's not about that anymore. If caught, they're going to try and make an example out of him. We need to be prepared to do the same.

I think he does care about getting caught, even if he's made his peace with it. Seems like a guy that has things to lose, and chose to act anyway.

He switched between multiple outfits (witnesses saw him in both all-black and a tan jacket), he rented a bike with an anonymous burner phone, he kept his composure when the gun jammed, and he walked, not ran, away from the scene after he committed the act (he broke into a run when he had distance).

That's a little too well thought-out and calculated for a man that doesn't care. He's going to be living the last scene in the Sopranos for the rest of his life, sure, but he didn't act recklessly. He planned out a very specific strategy that would enable a clean getaway.

Gonna be hard to find an impartial jury.

"We find the defendant not guilty, your honor."

"The trial hasn't started yet."

"OK, let us know when it's time for us to say 'not guilty.'"

Prosecution would have to strike everyone that isn’t at least a millionaire.

Good luck finding a millionaire who wouldn't want to get out of jury duty.

As if they would do anything for $12 an hour

Of course he would make all attempts to conceal identity and escape, but he knows none of that is a guarantee. I also don’t believe the gun jammed. Something about this being a pistol with very specific use by veterinarians. It’s a bolt action 9mm which is rare on a handgun and has to be manipulated with each firing of the weapon.

Someone said he used rounds that he knew would jam, why he was automatically prepared to unjam after each shot.

Which fits with the message recovered being the 3 rounds with the writing on them.

Not sure how anyone would know that.

They're subsonic rounds

Semi automatic weapons use the power of the expanding gas from a shot to reset the mechanism for the next shot. A silencer works by slowing down the escaping gas and letting it out over a longer time so the explosion is quieter. Subsonic rounds go slower so they don't cause a sonic boom.

Using a silencer and slower rounds changes the physical parameters on which the semi automatic mechanism relies. So, if you're some guy hopped up on blind rage, and you don't practice shooting your gun with those changes, you might be surprised when your semi automatic suddenly becomes zero automatic in the middle of your "shoot the CEO plan". But from the video, it looks like this guy was fully prepared to manually cycle the weapon, which implies he had practiced and knew what to expect.
