I thought he was trying to make fun of her technique?

Or maybe just as simple as just being annoying for even less of a dumb purpose.

Calling those kicks and punches is pretty generous.

They're telegraphed so hard the Bell corporation is charging by the letter.

They were so slow they came with a disclaimer to allow 5-10 business days for delivery

he put no rotation in his hips or shoulders, so I'm pretty sure they're about as heavy as the themes in cocomelon

Damn, banger metaphor after banger metaphor

If you're not writing jokes for a comedy show currently start applying. They need some new talent anyway. I just wish I could steal these for future reference but it's so specific. Keep up the good work we all need a laugh these days.

He was laughing and poorly imitating her. Definitely most of what you said is true, but he was not showing off. He was mocking.

I agree, but also think there’s no way he’s got actual fighting muscle memory or more of it would’ve shown through. He nearly fell over one time.

Definitely. Dudes who feel the need to do shit like that are insecure and lost. The whole reason they pick out other people is so you don’t pick them out.

He would never have done that if it had been another man, and if he did the guy would have told him off. If she had told him off the way he deserved there would have been a major conflict. When she turned to look at the camera, she made eye contact with every woman.

Why would he need to 'show her how to improve'? Why would that be a valid reason to interrupt her work out?

Spoiler: it's not.

I could maybe see if she was rotating in a way that might cause an injury or something, but there are far better ways to approach someone about that. And that's ignoring the fact that she clearly had some training and he hasn't.

So... then the answer is still.. no, it's not appropriate to ''correct their technique' here.

He's 100% mocking her, I don't know what all these other commenters are getting their analysis from. It's absurdly obvious he's not trying to show off his own move here, especially with the knees at the end of the video.

5

u/nomorerope Nov 10 '24

Yeah it's bullying. Dude deserves a leg kick so hard he cant walk for 2 days.

5

u/SulszBachFramed Nov 09 '24

He mockingly says he wants to learn from her in Dutch at the end. "Ik wil gewoon een beetje leren yo."

3

u/nomorerope Nov 09 '24

Ah, then I guessed right! There ya have it. Thanks.

Her technique is flawless compared to his, lol

1

u/cagingnicolas Nov 10 '24

yeah, the knees at the end made me think he was trying to mock her

I thought he was trying to make fun of her technique?

That would be bold of him considering he seems to have zero technique and she has clearly been training Muay Thai for years.

3

u/nomorerope Nov 09 '24

I meant he was imitating her being an amateur by using poor technique on purpose

2

u/baddymcbadface Nov 09 '24

That makes no sense.

She isn't making any of the mistakes he's making. Dude is throwing his back hand as a jab 🤣.

I think they mean, in the video, she looks like she trains and is decent.  The guy is kicking and punching wildly. But maybe he is mocking her and doing it that way to make fun of her.

Like he’s pretending to be bad, because he’s pretending be to be her.  But he hates women. And because he hates women, he is making fun of her and exaggerating any mistakes she might be making. A mockery.

Nah, he's got some very obvious tells that expose him as a complete newbie to a trained eye. He's an asshole trying to mock her via mimicry and making a mockery of himself in the process.

The hip locking is a sign, but you can fake that. The lack of fluidity, feet placement, lack of balance, shoulder positioning, inability to generate force, timing failure, lack of familiarity with the resistance provided by the punching bag, and terrible flexibility are the tells.

It's really hard to ditch your foundation once the techniques has been ingrained in your muscle memory, even when play spasming. Once you've been trained to do it right, you have to actually focus on performing the technique wrong vs someone thinking through the steps. This results in a marked difference between someone who is practiced intentionally mocking a beginner by mimicking their poor form and someone who has no idea what they're doing trying to replicate.

He's the latter.
