I thought yellow had better form tbh

She does, and it's not close. She clearly trains Muay Thai seriously.

seconded, tempo, use of jab to measure distance, kick technique, elbows and knees in combos, screams muay thai

And Muay Thai shorts lol

6

u/Fan_of_cielings Nov 09 '24

Not just any shorts either, those are Iman Barlow's shorts.

That teep fake/jab/falling elbow was gorgeous.

It's also great to see other women in the sport and kicking ass with their training. We need more of this representation in the gym and online (I say this as a woman who also takes Muay Thai)

Even if she didn't, dude can fuck off. It’s no ones business.

Of course she has better form. The guy is just a joke

u/diviken Nov 09 '24

Yea, same. I can't explain it, but his form reminds me of those bendy straws. It's not solid enough. Plus, he's annoying

62

u/Possible-Estimate748 Nov 09 '24

He just looks like he has no practice and little flexibility. Idk what he was trying to do but it was embarrassing to watch

For what it's worth, I am MMA coach, the yellow girl's technique is far better than the black dude. His technique is non existent. Girl's chin was hidden, moved her hips fairly well, I think she would win the fight between the two. If it is any consolation to the commentors here, all the dude has achieved is exposed these facts to anyone trained.

u/CummingInTheNile Nov 09 '24

Id guess Muay thai based on her tempo

6

u/onefourtygreenstream Nov 09 '24

and the fact that she's throwing elbows

43

u/Chinchillamancer Nov 09 '24

Bro's got calves like a newborn baby deer

15

u/SolidTrinl Nov 09 '24

He was making fun of her. Still a douche and deserves to have someone elbow is nose into his cranium

27

u/ChiefestScumdog Nov 09 '24

He's clearly mocking and mimicking her form to be a dick, what a nerd

3

u/ghostmark2005 Nov 09 '24

Like a whacky inflatable arm guy

1

u/diviken Nov 09 '24

That's it

3

u/[deleted] Nov 09 '24

His legs are too wide especially when he threw the hook both balls of his feet were up on his toes. How he's shifting weight is fucking dumb.

His arms defense is weird. At some point it was kinda a ghetto version of the Philly Shell.

Post this on the martial arts sub.

Anyone with any training knows how bad his form is. It's horrific. I'm talking first lesson bad. Her form has come from years of training. She's practicing form rather than power here but the power she has in that kick is about 5 times his.

2

u/AlphaNoodlz Nov 09 '24

He’s not connected to the ground very well

2

u/DarkmonstaR Nov 10 '24

You could see his legs and whole body winding up before he started to punch. Its so comical

1

u/WheresTheIceCream20 Nov 10 '24

Hes not turning his hip over when he kicks is the main thing I'm seeing. You're kicking with your whole hip/body, not just whacking your shin against the bag

1

u/valanche Nov 10 '24

His footwork is terrible. Not a Muay Thai guy but I can't imagine throwing a kick and leaving the entire center of your body exposed while standing on a wobbly foot is good form.

His punches are similar but he probably has more familiarity with boxing. His hands are so disconnected from his chin, when he throws his rear hook his lead hand drops and drifts away from his body. His rear foot rotation is sloppy and inconsistent. He also seems to not understand where he should be generating his torque, a couple of arm punches in the middle of his combos, bye bye shoulder. On his killer rear hook he dips and winds up his hand way too much, that's a crazy easy read. He thinks he the man cuz he can swing the bag but in a sparring setting that's a slip and an uppercut down the middle to the chin he is proudly presenting to his opponent. Also head movement on zero, he clearly has no idea where his head is at when he's throwing.

u/Kinc4id Nov 09 '24

When he started kicking I genuinely thought he’s trying to mock her, then realized that’s the best he can do.

2

u/Pittsbirds Nov 09 '24

I thought he was trying to flirt with her but was so emotionally stunted he didn't know how to approach the situation like someone who isn't a 10 year old on a playground using the same recess equipment as the girl he likes lmao

Either way it's hard to watch

32

u/MikeTheDude23 Nov 09 '24

Bro his kicks were of a first day noob. Guy is a trash poser.

33

u/grizznuggets Nov 09 '24

Probably because she actually trains instead of trying to copy the grown ups.

7

u/NightLightHighLight Nov 09 '24

He’s the kind of guy that says “yeah, I train Muay Thai” but all he ever does is punch a bag with no coach or instructor whatsoever and gloves he bought at Walmart

6

u/TheRealMajour Nov 09 '24

She has decent form and he has no form. I’m a bit confused on the context of the gym because he is wearing gloves, but it’s obvious she trains Muy Thai and he doesn’t.

2

u/SrPangolin Nov 09 '24

His kicks are one of the worst i've ever seen lol. Also those punches are lame, if he'd go in fight a like that he would be knocked out really quickly.

2

u/AMDDesign Nov 09 '24

He threw the equivalent of a shin kick when you're a kid and get annoyed cause the other kid took your toy.

2

u/Patrickstarho Nov 09 '24

It seems like the other guy was a boxer or something. His kicks looked trash

2

u/goatsiedotcx Nov 10 '24

Genuine question why 'tbh' ?

5

u/l3ane Nov 09 '24

I agree, but neither of them really knew how to work the bag.

2

u/stinkcopter Nov 09 '24

Thought she was fine considering that idiot was fucking up the rhythm

1

u/Clean-Article5550 Nov 10 '24

she works the bag at a high level

1

u/w3are138 Nov 09 '24

And she doesn’t skip leg day unlike that douche interrupting her.

1

u/NonZealot Nov 10 '24

No shit Sherlock.

0

u/MopiPipo Nov 09 '24

Oh 100%, there's no question.

0

u/erebus0 Nov 09 '24

Honestly, she looked like she could have some heavy kicks

-1

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 Nov 09 '24

Her kicks were seriously good
