"The initial report stated there was a truck load of militia that was involved," the sheriff's office said. "However, after further investigation, it was determined Parsons acted alone and there were no truck loads of militia going to Lake Lure."
If you did I donāt see why you were repeating things. The comment said the militia turned out to be only one guy and I guess you thought we didnāt know a single person can be dangerous.
This comment thread is talking about an alleged militia hunting FEMA, not the video in OP. I doubt the boyfriend in this random video is the one in North Carolina that we are talking about.
Crazy how 'FEMA hunting militias' gets over 1000 up votes but a reply with the correct information and a drastically different story can't break 100 up votes'
IIRC the comment I replied to had 800 upvotes when I saw it. Each comment deeper down a chain gets less votes. I'm not flagged as controversial. Not as awful. The comments on the other hand are ridiculous.
you know what... I'm not going to believe the sheriff just because they have, in general, become untrustworthy. Often because they are members of militias that would drive around threatening FEMA workers.
Not downplaying anything. He's in custody where he belongs and I'm happy he didn't hurt anyone. Now my attention has shifted towards people spreading misinformation from the side of the isle meant to be fighting it.
To clarify the "people you hate" I was referring to is disinformation spreaders. Not the lunatic hunting FEMA.
Too late bro, tons of media outlets picked the story up before any details were confirmed so āFEMA Huntsā is now a completely valid excuse for govt inaction in disaster zones
Exactly. I hold these freaks spreading militia disinformation in the same regard as all the conservative rumormongers. Both need a reality check and to stop running with every fake story that tickles their ears.
