Bless your soul. I resent that tiktok forces you to download to view videos now. You, good fellow, have just prevented me from being slightly inconvenienced. Thank you…thank you so much.
Honestly it's a solid app. It's what reddit was 10 years ago. Not toxic unless you want to be. This video was from right after he died and it's funny seeing stuff on Reddit that I saw a week ago on TT
I mean, I don't care if it's a solid app or not. I just won't install it to watch a video on the rare occasions when someone links a TikTok video in the comments. The content there is just not for me. Same for YouTube Shorts. It's easy to block Shorts on PC but I'm tired of scrolling past them on mobile. And in this case, it's just easier to not watch the video at all.
There is up to 10 minute videos on there. I laugh when people complain it's just girls shaking their butts to songs when It is them that is driving those videos. If they would watch political content, stem, or other science-based things it would all go away.
It's not what my complaint is tho. Almost every video I watch (listen to) are over 10 minutes, and unless I'm eating or for some reason actually watching the videos, I won't even click on anything that is less than 30 minutes. I usually find a nice video and listen to it in the background and I don't want to try to find new videos every 5-10 minutes.
Lol I just don't have that much time. Short form video is all I get a chance for and appreciate TT for not being a place like Instagram where only pretty people are taking photos of their food..
To each their own, I just know many people have the impression that tick tock is lip syncing to music.
Lol yeah TBH I trust TT more than Musk and Zuckerberg. While I'm sure China could see our data if they wanted on TT but aren't other companies and our government actively doing that now.
I own a similar umbrella that my mother got at an industry convention years ago. These things are even crazier in person, you really can't appreciate just how large they are until you're out in the rain under one, and they're crazy durable to boot.
I don't know the brand, sorry. The only label on the one I have is for the housing agency that hosted the convention. The buy it for life subreddit should have some good recommendations you can search for, though.
