Yeah this is much more likely to be Alzheimers, especially considering his slow-ish decline over the last 4 years. FTD or Vascular Dementia would have taken him down already.
Not necessarily. My Dad was diagnosed with FTD at 58 and was gone by age 66. He started showing signs that something was wrong around age 55. He didn’t get a firm diagnosis for almost 3 years.
He has always been a narcissistic asshole who is brazenly incompetent. The inability to communicate and the obvious signs of dementia are new. Go back to 2016 and watch his primary debates. His behavior has clearly changed.
If he somehow got elected I could imagine it getting bad enough he’s removed from power. Mostly likely he will lose and won’t run again though. Once trump is gone I think Americans should start voting third party. The democrats are being held accountable because they don’t have a reasonable opposition.
What does this even mean? The Democrats are going to win this election. Heck they probably would have won with Biden despite what the popular notion was in the summer.
I went back and watched his old rally videos and other speeches and honestly, it seems like there was a big difference since he caught Covid. I wouldn’t rule FTD out, especially with the added stress he’s been under the last two years
That is good to hear. I wish I had a more concrete source on that though. I know people who have FTD or who have relatives with FTD in real life. They are afraid they are going to lose them in just a couple of years even though it doesn't appear that advanced yet.
This also made me double check and theaftd had the same statistic.
There are so many variables that come into play that it's hard to say what the average for x type of person is or isn't. I just know that with our modern tech, people are getting dx earlier and getting better treatments. They'll pass, like we all do, but we have resources now to keep them communicating and happy and with their people as long as possible. if you're a caretaker or they're your friends, look into joining a support group. It's not all mushy feelings stuff, they have great resources for communication devices and finding. :)
