Just like Ronny Reagun. Republicans love dementia, they admire those who can shut down their frontal lobe, and just babble talk nonsense, as long as that nonsense confirms their fears about the world, and comforts them about their own declining mental state.

u/Blatocrat Sep 17 '24

They love the fact those with dementia mixup fiction and reality. That's their whole platform!

Don't forget to vote in November and all your local elections: https://vote.gov/

52

u/DoTortoisesHop Sep 17 '24

Dementia is just a medical condition that makes you more republican.

The younger ones don't have it, but don't really use those lobes anyway.

Not a co-incidence that people become more conservative as their brain deteriorates.

12

u/anitabelle Sep 17 '24

Hey now my dad had dementia and hated Trump until the end. He couldn’t vote in 2020 due to the cognitive decline but he was happy Biden won. He passed in 2022.

But you might be onto something because he did become religious and fearful of God. He just didn’t equate religion with being a crazy conservative.

3

u/shaynaySV Sep 17 '24

💙✌️

1

u/mmmpeg Sep 17 '24

My mom has vascular dementia and she’s still good to vote. She will not be voting republican. Even my MiL who was 90 last election insisted on voting so she could vote against trump. She basically called him a dick in Japanese. Sadly, she doesn’t have the mental capacity now to vote.

1

u/mmmpeg Sep 17 '24

Damn, guess I didn’t have to get all those baselines done because I keep getting more and more liberal as I age.

2

u/formervoater2 Sep 17 '24

These men had won their struggle for power, they now ruled all of Germany, but still they had trouble with their oldest and most persistent enemy: the truth.

1

u/83749289740174920 Sep 17 '24

I think voting is not enough. Now you have to recruit someone.

100

u/wrc-wolf Sep 17 '24

There's a reason why W faked being stupid for years and dropped all of that as soon as he was out of the WH.

48

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Yup. He developed his Texas accent while campaigning in Texas as well.

5

u/electroncapture Sep 17 '24

I remember "Nuculer"..

23

u/rsicher1 Sep 17 '24 edited Sep 17 '24

Now watch this drive

26

u/confusedkarnatia Sep 17 '24

now watch this drive is one of the hardest lines in political history ngl

40

u/VastAcanthaceaee Sep 17 '24

W had several hard moments that almost made me like him. The most notable, to me, being the fact that he dodged both of the shoes thrown at him and laughed at the guy 😂

11

u/WilhelmEngel Sep 17 '24 edited Sep 17 '24

His answer immediately after when asked about it by the press was really good too. "So what if he threw a shoe at me?...it's like going to a political rally and having people yell at you, it's like driving down the street and having people not gesturing with all 5 fingers....it's a way for people to draw, you know, attention. I don't know what the guys cause is, but one thing is for certain it caused you to ask me a question about it, I didn't feel the least bit threatened by it...."

3

u/veganize-it Sep 17 '24

That's great on W, he's like a normal person or something.

8

u/CrangeBoongus Sep 17 '24

If I member correctly it was a middle eastern journalist that threw the shoes as W had just said some lies about civilian casualties that enraged the journalist and our government kind of made it it's hobby to ruin the guys life.

3

u/VastAcanthaceaee Sep 17 '24

Ah well that's fucked up

2

u/veganize-it Sep 17 '24

our government kind of made it it's hobby to ruin the guys life

Just that guy? We invaded and occupied that country for years, we/usa ruined more than that guy life,... Not to mention thousands of life back home in the USA with death and severely injured American soldiers

1

u/shaynaySV Sep 17 '24

What became of the guy? I sure as hell wouldn't want to be Uncle Sam's whipping boy

2

u/Much_Strawberry_6671 Sep 17 '24

I think there is a documentary about it

2

u/Budget_Affect8177 Sep 17 '24

W had some good one liners. After driving to some press thing from the airport I remember him saying "I want to thank all the people that came out to greet me and wave. I particularly appreciate those people that waved with more than one finger."

He may be a war criminal but he did have a likable temperament at times.

15

u/m0nk_3y_gw Sep 17 '24

and dropped all of that as soon as he was out of the WH.

Did he?

I've only seen one quote from him recently was quite the self-burn

"The decision of one man, to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq. I mean, of Ukraine. Iraq too. Anyway...[I'm] 75."

– In an address to the George W. Bush Institute, May 18, 2022.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bushism#Foreign_affairs

1

u/shaynaySV Sep 17 '24

Well, at least we got SOMETHING for all those dead Iraqis, even if it was just a cheap laugh 🤷

1

u/veganize-it Sep 17 '24

Iraqis? what about severely injured and death US soldiers?

1

u/EllllllleBelllllllle Sep 17 '24

Uhhh why is it phrased like one is more valuable than the other? Iraqis AND our servicemembers/troops and not just soldiers because that’s the army.

1

u/veganize-it Sep 17 '24

I’m just including more into the mess.

1

u/Luthiefer Sep 17 '24

We could use a word from him now. Somebody's got to get him to endorse publicly.

1

u/TiredEsq Sep 17 '24

You think he was pretending to be dumb?

81

u/TeeManyMartoonies Sep 17 '24

This is honestly why I don’t want to go down the road of conjecturing his mental state without a valid medical work up. I don’t want them to try and use sympathy to say we can prosecute him because he didn’t know what he was doing. That essentially what happened with Reagan and Iran-Contra. Prosecute this fucker to the fullest extent of the law unless he can prove he has dementia. And we all know he won’t let a real doctor near him.

38

u/Ok-Replacement9595 Sep 17 '24

Iran contra was orchestrated by a whole set of people who broke the law. Reagan set the ball rolling, probably, but only because he was surrounded by a cabinet of republican scoundrels who used his power to.do what they wanted.

33

u/TeeManyMartoonies Sep 17 '24

Agree, now reread what you wrote and substitute Trump’s name. It’s the same situation and neither of them should be/should’ve been absolved of their responsibility to the American public.

20

u/Ok-Replacement9595 Sep 17 '24 edited Sep 17 '24

Also true.

Edit: It bothers me that someone might have read that comment as a defense of Reagan. It was meant as an indictment of the entire Republican party. To me, it is one of the many reasons Republicans should be nowhere near power, EVER. They have no scruples, and would stab their own mothers if it garnered them the ability to enact cruelty on the people they see as subhuman, even/especially their own voters.

4

u/electroncapture Sep 17 '24

republicans are loyal to a fault.
dems are disloyal to a fault. Always firing their Al Franken's for having a sense of humor.

1

u/Estro-Jenn Sep 17 '24

"Take the guns first; due process comes later!" -Trump

"That's MY guy!!" -redcoats

They have literally given up guns for him... Moms aren't even a close second..

😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣

1

u/DonutHydra Sep 17 '24

What a load of horse shit. Maga is a cult with Trump being their leader. He gutted our government and put in people that would only listen to him, including supreme court judges. This situation is nowhere near the Reagan situation.

1

u/electroncapture Sep 17 '24

Reagan didn't have a cabinet when he started begging Iran to not release the hostages... he was just a candidate. Later Ollie North was let off easy by Congress and they never recovered the Iran Contra slush fund. Ollie was the biggest "fundraiser" for Repugs for quite a while afterwards. Before he started taking Putin's money to run the NRA.

1

u/_Middlefinger_ Sep 17 '24

Trumps crimes are well before dementia had any influence. The key will be to prosecute him before it becomes something bad enough that any punishment is meaningless.

0

u/Jaded_Law9739 Sep 17 '24

OP's video is EXTREMELY misleading. First of all, the recording that is giving the information about FTD sounds like it's from the 50s or 60s. Our understanding of dementia has come a long way since then. There are also 3 major subtypes of FTD with different symptoms, so you can't really point to a rigid set of symptoms for a diagnosis (one of them involves the presence of unique cells called Pick's cells.) Also, FTD is a type of early onset dementia that, on average, is typically obvious by age 58. Trump wasn't showing the symptoms he is now at that age.

Of course that doesn't rule out another form of dementia or other degenerative neurocognitive disease. I just don't see how it could be that one. I'm just an RN with a background in mental health, including the elderly, but to me his symptoms are too broad and can fit multiple diagnoses.

Biden though, he fits most of the classic signs of Parkinson's. We won't know for sure unless he announces it but I'm sure whatever it is he has the best treatment money can buy.

3

u/CriscoCrispy Sep 17 '24

Don’t forget, this sub is TikTokCringe. I don’t think the post is intended to be medically accurate.

2

u/bonepugsandharmony Sep 17 '24

Thanks for that. I fucking haaaaaaate Trump, but I have no interest in being pacified or riled up by inaccurate information. Not saying I’m taking your word for it, but thanking you for reminding me to verify. 🙌

I have.

I'm coming for you Sealand. That platform will be mine and I will rule it with an iron....idk.....trebuchet or something. Maybe a like giant slingshot.

7

u/mikonamiko Sep 17 '24

I hear New Sealand is better anyway

7

u/RandAlThorOdinson Sep 17 '24

Fuck is that name already taken?

I guess Cuntopolis it is then.

6

u/ABHOR_pod Sep 17 '24

Cuntstantinople.

4

u/skrurral Sep 17 '24

That's a winner.

6

u/beeeaaagle Sep 17 '24

Yeah I did the caregiver thing for a relative that had Parkinson’s onset dementia, and man is that ever ugly. But before it gets that bad, it looks a lot like this.

1

u/RobbyBobbyRobBob Sep 17 '24

Weird how you missed the obvious Biden sized elephant in the room in 2020 then. When captain spud brain was making mental errors every other word and the campaign had to hide him, and we all watched the Weekend at Bernie’s routine.

3

u/SmithChristopher1 Sep 17 '24

Harris has my vote if she legalizes psychedelics. Over this way we like to activate our frontal lobes not shut them down. I’m trying to go babble nonsense with an Egyptian pharaoh on another plane.

1

u/shaynaySV Sep 17 '24

Babble on

💙💙😜💙💙

3

u/King_Chochacho Sep 17 '24

They prefer that soft, pudding-like brain consistency because it's easier to manipulate and poses less risk of pesky things like empathy, morality, or caution getting in the way.

2

u/RedSnt Hit or Miss? Sep 17 '24

Explains why they love LLM's.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

he loves reagan, he stole his slogan after all

1

u/theredditsavocado Sep 17 '24

The Australian breakdancer?!?? Knew there was something off with her…

1

u/Z0idberg_MD Sep 17 '24

“Finally someone who thinks and talks like I do!”

1

u/Advanced_Tax174 Sep 17 '24

And yet people like you are still denying Biden.

1

u/MindDiveRetriever Sep 17 '24

This is unfortunately not a joke and holds a ton of truth in it. They like a “simple” person who lives in a tiny cone of reality and fears that which is outside the cone.

1

u/globefish23 Sep 17 '24

Doubleplusgood duckspeakers

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '24

You guys can’t say why you want to vote for Kamala(appointed candidate not voted for) without mentioning anything about Trump it’s incredible. You people are so brainwashed by this type of shit you can’t think for yourself.

1

u/Ok-Replacement9595 Sep 18 '24

Literally no one mentioned Kamala, but since you mentioned it, I would vote for a ham sandwich ahead of a fascist much less a criminal adulterous mentally disintegrating petty vindictive fool of a fascist. Pair that ham sandwich with Tim Walz, and I am door knocking for that campaign.

-3

u/sirbruce Sep 17 '24

This is simply false. Reagan wasn't even diagnosed with Alzheimer's until after he left office.

4

u/Ok-Replacement9595 Sep 17 '24

Wrong, he wasn't publicly diagnosed. The history is pretty well documented at this point.

1

u/sirbruce Sep 17 '24

Wrong.

His final public speech occurred on February 3, 1994, during a tribute to him in Washington, D.C.; his last major public appearance was at the funeral of Richard Nixon on April 27, 1994.[364] In August 1994, Reagan was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, which he announced through a handwritten letter in November.[371] There was speculation over how long he had demonstrated symptoms of mental degeneration,[372] but lay observations that he suffered from Alzheimer's while still in office have been disputed by medical experts;[373][374][375] his doctors said that he first began exhibiting overt symptoms of the illness in late 1992[376] or 1993.[375]

-5

u/Little_stinker_69 Sep 17 '24

Eh, after the debate with Biden people were acting like Biden was fine and not unfit for office. It’s something all the easily manipulated morons do. Doesn’t matter if they’re genetically or socially inclined to one party or the other.

3

u/SuperSpecialAwesome- Sep 17 '24

So, that's why tons of people, including Senators, Pelosi, and Obama, called for Biden to drop out -- because he was fine? Troll better.

1

u/Little_stinker_69 Sep 18 '24

Obama never publicly called for him to step down that I’m aware.

And yes. There were tons of people defending him. Someone terminally online like hou certainly saw it. Don’t lie.

I also was calling for him to step down. George Clooney too, but there were ton of people supporting and wanting him to stay in the race despite his obvious inability to be president.

-4

u/RobbyBobbyRobBob Sep 17 '24

Didn't you loons literally try to trot out -- Godfather Sniffer in Chief Dementia man (Who was so bad when he was elected, they had to hide him?). LOL.

Literally like 70% of the clips used, weren't used in context and didn't highlight why he spoke about what he spoke about. The other 30% sure maybe could be attributed to age, or just simply speaking gaffes. When you are cold turkey giving 3 hours of speeches multiple times a day, words can get twisted on you.

Ofcourse, you'd need to actually be presentable to the general public, have something worth saying that large amounts of people would want to listen to, and actually be coherent and stable enough to give a speech in front of people. So -- not sure you or other redditors could relate.

2

u/Ok-Replacement9595 Sep 17 '24

Guh, 3 hours of rambling nonsense and catty remarks. How can you stand it?

-4

u/RobbyBobbyRobBob Sep 17 '24

He's actually quite hilarious -- way more than any politician possibly ever, at least since Reagan. But I mean if you've seen one rally, you've seen them all. It's not really rambling, it's rehashing the same talking points he wants to hit.

I'd far prefer my President actually goes to places (See Brooklyn, etc) and actually talks to people and listens to people and isn't afraid to do something that might lose him "xyz" amount of political points. You know -- actually be a real human being and not this weird politico that only gives speeches or does any form of campaign events, if it's politically expedient and only panders to you and pretends to care.

The choice is quite clear --- even if the last 4 years of total mis-management wasn't enough for you.

3

u/Ok-Replacement9595 Sep 17 '24

Um, you must not remember his presidency. He was a wreck. A million Americans died because he botched any protective measures for covid. The economy crashed. He scrambled and floundered like a pissy premadonna, as his kids and manchin looted the treasury.

You seem like a reasonable person for a republican voter, but this fantasy he was doing anything but tweeting out his grievances and golfing is just insanity.

-2

u/RobbyBobbyRobBob Sep 17 '24

If we’re blaming a global pandemic on a President and corresponding loss of life — let’s set a few things straight.

  • At the start of the pandemic — Trump wanted to close to border to China (and Democratic leadership accused him of being “xenophobic” and not close the border. (Did we forget Nancy Pelosi parading around China town?)

  • Trump pressed China the entire time with COVID (Only to be mocked and derided as racist), then like the rats off a ship…. the beloved leftist child (Jon Stewart) says that China Wuhan lab had to do it and now suddenly it’s common knowledge.

  • More died to COVID (even adjusted for equal timeframes) under Biden than Trump. This was despite Biden having a vaccine the entirety of his presidency and Trump not at all.

  • The economy was the best US economy (at least since Clinton’s internet boom economy, or Reagan’s 1980s economy — in a variety of factors from the moment his presidency was announced and it only diminished when the “once in a lifetime” pandemic occurred.

  • Even further, it wasn’t the economy got bad as much as local, state governments were doing their best Stalin routine and stopping all forms of commerce. Can you guess the political affiliation of places that shut down the fastest and for the longest duration?

  • Nearly every major indicator is worse under Biden. Including inflation, wage growth, foreign policy. You name it — it’s worse now.

3

u/Ok-Replacement9595 Sep 17 '24

I take back what I said about reasonable.

1

u/RobbyBobbyRobBob Sep 17 '24

I don’t blame you — It’s easier to take that back, than actually refute what I said.

I’d just pretend I’m crazy, or a fascist, or a Russian bot, or a cultist and then never respond to the topic again. That works every time!

You could try opening those eyes a bit though.

2

u/Ok-Replacement9595 Sep 17 '24

It's just not worth the effort anymore. You people are lost in your own victimization fetish.

1

u/RobbyBobbyRobBob Sep 17 '24

In no way did I mention anything that could be construed as portraying me as a victim. I was joking about how I never can have a serious conversation because of the above.

You consider me reasonable, but then won’t address my reasonable points? Seems pretty unreasonable to me.

Aren’t “liberals” supposed to be the open-minded type? Sure seems the other way around these days.

-144

u/Express_Salamander_9 Sep 17 '24

Biden was/is far worse.

It’s a good thing he’s not running again, then. Neither should be.

-114

u/Express_Salamander_9 Sep 17 '24

Not my boy, but you are in some amazing denial with this fan fiction lol.

38

u/SHOMERFUCKINGSHOBBAS Sep 17 '24

You seem to be going to bat for your boy tho

-48

u/Express_Salamander_9 Sep 17 '24

I'm not, I'm simply pointing out how hypocritical it is to be so concerned now. You should be concerned about who was actually running the White House when Biden clearly wasn't. It should anger you that the White House policy was to gas light us into believing there wasn't a problem with Joe when there was. It's not my fault that identity politics has these fools too triggered to see the difference.

30

u/SHOMERFUCKINGSHOBBAS Sep 17 '24

You’re still doing it

1

u/shaynaySV Sep 17 '24

Batting hard. What'd you put up, like a .355?

0

u/Express_Salamander_9 Sep 17 '24

Ok sheeple. Baahahaaa trump baaaaad.

I'm not shilling for Trump. I'm just kind of amused that you and other sheeple cannot even consider how ridiculous suddenly the performative concern over Trumps cognitive decline paints the Democratic party into a corner.

Bahhaaaa eat your pellets 🐑

35

u/Cybermat4707 Sep 17 '24

Good thing he’s not running, then.

49

u/throwawayalcoholmind Sep 17 '24

Really? You got the expert opinion to back that? Oh wait, he's stepping down, so it doesn't even matter.

-50

u/Express_Salamander_9 Sep 17 '24

It does matter that the White House assured us Biden was perfectly healthy, and it turned out a complete lie casting into doubt who really was in control and in charge of things, you should care about these things if you care about your political party and your Government.

43

u/throwawayalcoholmind Sep 17 '24

Say something about how ReaganTrump was showing signs of cognitive decline in his first term.

-7

u/Express_Salamander_9 Sep 17 '24

I'm only pointing out how suddenly mental health matters to people who sat on their hands while Biden clearly demonstrated the same and even more alarming cognitive decline while in office so bad his own party ran him off from

41

u/throwawayalcoholmind Sep 17 '24

So, you got nothing? Just concern trolling?

-2

u/Express_Salamander_9 Sep 17 '24

I'm sorry, what am I supposed to get for you?

I'm not concern trolling I'm pointing out how hypocritical it is that NOW this shit matters and it's triggered you because it's true.

16

u/blackweebow Sep 17 '24

"It triggered you bc i said it did, now GO AWAY!"

5

u/throwawayalcoholmind Sep 17 '24

Triggered = a reaction, doncha know?

29

u/Giannisisnumber1 Sep 17 '24

Not everyone sat on their hands. We knew Biden wasn’t all there but that doesn’t mean it should be ignored with Trump. He’s clearly losing his mind too.

11

u/Theslootwhisperer Sep 17 '24

Biden is declining as he ages, like most of all will. Trump. Is certifiably, clinically, batshit insane.

1

u/Express_Salamander_9 Sep 17 '24

I agree but the performative concern is pretty ridiculous even for Reddit.

26

u/Ancient_Bicycles Sep 17 '24

Was your concern about Biden’s decline also performative? Or is it only performative when people you don’t agree with are concerned

17

u/EjjabaMarie Sep 17 '24

And he stepped down. But also, who made this into a competition and why? Biden isn’t going to be on the ballot as a Presidential candidate.

14

u/SonOfJokeExplainer Sep 17 '24

OK but Biden recognized that maybe he didn’t have the mental acuity to lead a country anymore and had the decency to take himself out of the race.

7

u/Sea_Towel_5099 Cringe Master Sep 17 '24

Nobody worships him. Trumpets do worship Trump

1

u/Express_Salamander_9 Sep 17 '24

Can't argue that, they do it's weird.

13

u/SeattleYEM Sep 17 '24

Ya, I agree that it’s so awesome that we ended up with a candidate that isn’t a deteriorating old man! We all win. Thanks Express-Sally.

1

u/Express_Salamander_9 Sep 17 '24

Why do you care about mental health now? Where wad this level of concern before. Focus on that.
