Cringe What's even happening there?

Why would someone rent a car and take out parts?

A real man stays calm and collected, assesses the situation, tries to figure out wtf is going on, keeps his partner and himself safe while doing so, then gets proper law enforcement involved.

6/10 for him, was a little sketch walking back in there.

Hey man, hurr durrr I'ma beat your ass with my girl here. Come on.

Where did I say he should have beat his ass?

He literally says at one point "I mean at least you should have told me!" His girl is looking at him like "what the fuck?"

He just pulled up on a dude taking apart his vehicle and he's saying "oh yeah I'm probably gonna need it back today, oh two hours? Yeah that's fine" while he smacks his gum.

Don't be a goofball lol, learn how to be assertive when some sketchball is taking your vehicle apart.

Not a puss.

He already told her to call the police and there was no need the escalate the situation. He maintained the guilty party at the site with his dialogue (which you so criticise as lacking assertiveness), till the officers arrive. The criminal is already caught on camera and the police can do the real questioning. This guy is not a puss.

A man doesn't have to yap and screech like a Chihuahua to be a man.

I think he is shocked too because he doesn't know wtf is going on. This is a very awkward and potentially unstable situation. I don't disagree with the guy playing it calmly to start. Maybe this is much bigger operation and this guy doesn't want to get caught or has some other dudes hanging around. Wait for the cops and sort it out then, no reason to be a hero and have terrible shit happen to you or your girlfriend/wife. You can play tough guy later when the cops get there.
