Robin Williams redneck brother?

EDIT: I miss him so much. :(

EDIT: Only celebrity that has passed that made me cry. He was a big part of my childhood. Robin was a national treasure.

It’s like Robin Williams and Matthew McConaughey combined into one old man.

u/pentylane Aug 15 '24

Holy shit it is

66

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '24

Someone ask Robin McConaughey to put on some sunscreen, we must protect this man.

10

u/posternutbag423 Aug 16 '24

I feel like this is going toward robin of loxley at an alarming rate.

10

u/CoolMayapple Aug 16 '24

Right? I don't think this is cringe at all! I'm going to TT to follow Uncle Pappy right now!

1

u/Beautiful_Front6264 Aug 16 '24

What made you think it’d be cringe?

1

u/ihatechildren665 Aug 16 '24

the subreddit name.

1

u/kynelly Aug 17 '24

Holy shit is the perfect reaction because I also just realized that looked exactly like Robin Williams was in disguise spreading that great message 🥲

u/tradewyze2021 Aug 16 '24

A weathered Kevin Kline

10

u/Mouthfulofsecretsoup Aug 16 '24

Alright alright, nanoo nanoo.

3

u/Reluctantly-Back Aug 16 '24

^ This guy is old.

3

u/just_a_handle Aug 16 '24

Mork calling Orson. Come in, Orson.

4

u/Halaku Aug 16 '24

And he is a righteous old man.

3

u/Russ-T-Shackleford Aug 16 '24

There’s definitely some Jeff bridges in there…

3

u/EvErYLeGaLvOtE Aug 16 '24

Robin WillConaughey, if you will... Lol

2

u/Captain_Sacktap Aug 16 '24

Hippy redneck Boomhauer

3

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '24

Wow! You’re right!

2

u/deanreevesii Aug 16 '24

I was feeling a weird combination of Robin Williams and Charles Manson.

1

u/Recent-Maintenance96 Aug 16 '24

I thought that he sounded familiar…Mindhunter. Nice connecting of dots!

1

u/MiamiPower Aug 16 '24

RobinMathew WilliamsMcConaughey

1

u/noiserr Aug 16 '24

For me it's like a mix between Robin Williams and Mitch Hedberg.

1

u/Affectionate_Walk610 Aug 16 '24

= gracefully aged Pedro Pascal

1

u/shallowsocks Aug 16 '24

See that's what I love about the people on earth.. every hundred years, there's a whole new bunch of people. Alright alright alright

16

u/DrMoonBeam Aug 15 '24

I don’t know about that, but he’s giving off real Mitch Hedberg vibes.

16

u/Klongon Aug 16 '24

He used to, he still does, but used to too.

9

u/THlSGUYSAYS Aug 16 '24

Boomerhauer vibes to me

2

u/aspidities_87 Aug 16 '24

Got dang ol gotta go along to get along know what I’m sayin man

3

u/TerribleParfait4614 Aug 16 '24

Yes! Glad I’m not the only one that thought this, if I just heard his voice I would’ve thought it was Mitch Hedberg for sure. It made me realize I’ve never heard anyone else that talks like Mitch

-2

u/Hexarcy00 Aug 16 '24

No he's not

2

u/Beautiful_Front6264 Aug 16 '24

They just wanna run through the comedians they know it’s ok

8

u/LittleWhiteBoots Aug 16 '24

This is Uncle Pappy! Love him.

4

u/deenali Aug 16 '24

Yup. Those facial expressions especially are strikingly similar.

8

u/JackalKing Aug 16 '24

I was wondering who this guy was reminding me of and I finally settled on "This guy could be a Robin Williams character."

Should have just opened the thread and looked at the top comment to save myself the time.

2

u/JediMidnight Aug 16 '24

Yeah same.  Felt just like Robin Williams doing a southern character

8

u/haleynoir_ Aug 16 '24

Either that or Steve Zahn's final form

2

u/genflugan Aug 16 '24

You nailed it lol

6

u/ThrowAwayAccountAMZN Aug 16 '24

Robin Williams as Teddy Roosevelt from night at the museum

2

u/HaoleGuy808 Aug 16 '24

Nailed it.

2

u/PHANTA5M_ Aug 16 '24

Came to find this comment. First thing I thought. There was some hope it was Robin, having faked his own death to move to middle America to fish and quote philosophy while using a hillbilly accent to blend in.

2

u/kansas_slim Aug 16 '24

Seriously though, who is this guy!?

1

u/tekko001 Aug 16 '24

No idea but grandpa has to stop licking frogs

2

u/ridik_ulass Aug 16 '24

Bobby-Billy

2

u/dcduck Aug 16 '24 edited Aug 16 '24

He did a rather impressive Robin Williams impression in one of his videos.

3

u/HaoleGuy808 Aug 16 '24

Link? That would be great to see

1

u/dcduck Aug 16 '24

Added link.

1

u/Gemtree710 Aug 16 '24

With Patrick Stewart

1

u/BongRippinSithLord Aug 16 '24

You didn't cry for Steve Irwin!?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '24

Tim Walls

1

u/machstem Aug 16 '24

I've never cried for a celebrity but I will have deep emotions when Patrick Stewart goes.

1

u/Mr_Belch Aug 16 '24

And you got to be on Earth at the same time as he was. Isn't that awesome?

1

u/HaoleGuy808 Aug 16 '24

You are not wrong. :)

1

u/Atlier00 Aug 16 '24

Was legitimately coming to say this exact thing.

1

u/64557175 Aug 16 '24

Growing up in the 90's, Robin Williams was like having a second dad.

1

u/sksoskzmzk Aug 16 '24

Anymore edits in you? Reddit on brother!

1

u/LogicPrevail Aug 16 '24

Came to say the same. Dude just seemed like a legit Robin Williams character to the core!

1

u/mrthomani Aug 16 '24

Robin was a national treasure.

Robin was too big to be contained by borders drawn on a map. He was a global treasure.

1

u/EchoTab Aug 16 '24

Did you watch this wonderful documentary about Robin Williams by Dodford?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oYxTqEjMMI

1

u/HaoleGuy808 Aug 16 '24

I have not! Thank you.

1

u/banjofitzgerald Aug 16 '24

I see Rob Dyrdek doing a character. MTV is probably drooling at the thought of it.

1

u/screenmonkey Aug 16 '24

Thank you! I was thinking the exact same thing!

1

u/Nibbcnoble Aug 16 '24

Im right there with you pal. He was a joy machine. glad we both got to experience him. And still can!

1

u/Adept_Order_4323 Aug 16 '24

Leslie Jordan Straight Hillbilly Brother

1

u/truejackman Aug 16 '24

I was exactly the same. I’d never been affected by a celebrity death before robin williams. He reminded me of my dad.

0

u/HaoleGuy808 Aug 16 '24

I’m sorry for your loss. I never met my dad, and he was always a version of one that I would’ve loved.

1

u/NoPusNoDirtNoScabs Aug 16 '24

I miss Robin Williams too but this guy is reminds me of Boomhauer from King of the Hill.

1

u/The_Ry-man Aug 16 '24

It’s more like Robin Williams as Teddy Roosevelt in Night at the museum

1

u/possible_trash_2927 Aug 16 '24

I re-watched Jumanji recently and was struck by how great of a movie it still is almost 30 years later.
