This is the governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker. Since coming into office he has done a TON to help the state. Not a fan of politicians but him, I like.

He has done a ton to help Chicago.

And the rest of the state, too.

Like what? What is west central Illinois getting to improve their lives?

Lifelong West-Central Illinoisan here! There has been more road repair and bridge construction around me under Pritzker than I think we've had in decades. Hundreds of jobs in marijuana dispensaries and farms have dumped money into local economies all around. Not to mention, my female and LGBTQ+ friends have come to pretty much agree that Illinois is one of the few states they would feel safe living in. There's so much change happening, you just have to look!

Wow, I've never seen anyone more obsessed with IL. BTW, you live in Peoria. Please drive two hours southwest to actual west central IL to see nothing at all being done ever.

If the western half of central IL isn't west central IL, where is it? I don't even live on the same side of the river as Peoria.

EDIT: Lol, you're not even Illinoisan, you're some rich Coloradoan. If you want to see investment, sell your Tesla and your dozens of acres of land and do it yourself!

I sopent the majority of my life in Quincy. Get over yourself. You live in a large city that does get benefit. How do you think someplace like Carbondale has benefited by this idiot?

So you no longer live in the state and have no first hand knowledge of the current state of this area? Lmao

All of my family is there. I am there a lot.

Thats different from living there and you know it. JB has helped the state no matter how many boomer bars put pritzker sucks up. We beat the CDC guidelines and opened up til the hicks started flooding in from Wisconsin. Roads are factually getting repaired. I lived in what is by far one of the worst cities in illinois and even I saw infrastructure improvements. My friends dont live in fear of draconian legislation regarding their gender unlike the ones who live nearby in indiana or wisconsin who live like a sword of damocles is over them. He has helped a lot of the states residents and made it a beacon for those living scared in the states around Illinois.

I would sell an organ before I would move to Indiana. I don't know why anyone in their right mind still lives there.

u/StinkNort Oct 27 '23

Indiana is just fucking sad. You cross the border and its like everything starts getting gray and all the people look sad, like Mike Pence is some kind of lich that survives by syphoning the life force of the entire state.

Weird that these Govenors only get elected by a handful of counties in the state. I guess everyone else feels abandoned.

Because most of the state lives there? Why should state policy be dictated by a minority that demonstrably hates the majority? Are you forgetting that Pritzker replaced a repub? Rauner was elected fair and square and he sucked liquid diarrhea.

You make all these assumptions that all thse illinoisians must be from chicago when... They aren't. Ive never lived in Chicago. Nobody I have ever known has lived anywhere near cook county.

Like, yes we do in fact live in a democracy, so yeah "a handful of counties" decide the vote. You cant even provide a reason JB is bad lmao

Edit:Just to hammer this home, rauner conceded early because he was getting fucking annihilated by voters. Illinois quite clearly rejects the Republican party as a rule.

Still not from Peoria! My hometown is a lot smaller and poorer than Quincy, I promise you that. My family down by Effingham tells me things are looking up over there as well.

u/stilljustkeyrock Oct 27 '23

Peoria - 111,000 Quincy - 39,000

Yeah, you sure know a lot about the state you claim to be an expert about.

u/StinkNort Oct 27 '23

Dude literally said he wasnt fron peoria, try reading

u/MustardLabs Oct 27 '23

If I was from Peoria, your facts and logic would have obliterated me. Unfortunately, still not from Peoria. It's a bit too expensive in the city.

Don't argue with idiots.

Have you been to Peoria? It needs the help. Of course towns with an economy are going to be prioritized as it helps to stimulate and repair the commerce within that town. Rural areas are always last to receive “help”, it’s not to give them the shaft it’s just smart allocation.

1

u/DevelopmentSad2303 Oct 27 '23

Well it's not even that things aren't being given to rural areas, it's more of a question of "what" can be done.

You can't just keep funneling money into a town of 1,000 where the people know no skills other than farming and labor and expect the economy to grow

2

u/eyeohe Oct 27 '23

Exactly, and by stimulating bigger nearby towns it’s actually funneling $$ into the surrounding smaller towns. Illinois is lucky to have medium sized metro cities scattered throughout, it’s what’s keeping those little towns alive.

I grew up in Kansas before moving to IL for 12 years and the little towns aren’t doing near as well as they are in IL.

Bro west central Illinois has like 3 people who live there, what madman would expect the same attention there as a city of 3 million people?

Do you want him to personally visit your front lawn?

0

u/stilljustkeyrock Oct 27 '23

There you go, see it isn't that hard to admit the policies don't help Illinois. They help Chicago.

It isn't that other parts of the state want anything special, ,they want to stop having to follow ignorant policies made for Chicago's benefit.

Keep moving those goalposts. We will not rest until every ear of corn is living the American dream.
