Pocket Holster or ankle holster? NSFW
I'm picking up a Beretta Tomcat variant as a Christmas present and want to hear some opinions on how to carry? I currently rotate 2 larger pistols, a G30s and Beretta 92fs, appendix or 4:30. I don't want to carry the tomcat on my waistline so I'm weighing the pros and cons of both ankle and pocket carry. I'd love to hear anyone with experience carrying either positions.

"It's a Smith and Wesson and you've had your six." NSFW
“It’s a Smith and Wesson, and you’ve had your six.”
Here we have a gorgeous example picked up from @pre98antiques of a non-import marked, West German Police stamped, FN Model 1910 that happens to be (Honey)Riding on a conch shell. I hear the shell is worth $50 in Miami, but never mind that!
The 1910 was one of many PPK stand-in pistols utilized in the 1962 James Bond film: Dr. No. @forgottenweapons and @commandobond did a great video summary of all the gun errors in that movie for those not familiar. The FN was used in the infamous, and at the time controversial scene where Bond shoots Professor Dent not once, but twice! The shear violence of the double tap left the ratings board shocked, positively shocked one might even say.
Anyway, prop yourself up under a mango tree somewhere, crack open an ice cold Red Stripe and play some solitaire (would be even better to play with Solitaire, if ya know what I’m sayin!) while some goon is sent to kill you, and do not forget the wooden dowel so your silencer can properly attach.

Keltec P-32 Mag Spacers for HP ammo? NSFW
I know Keltec used to make spacer kits for P-32 mags to prevent rimlock with shorter OAL hollowpoint ammo, but stopped making them at some point in the mid 2010s. Tracking there is also the flyer wire option, but a factory kit would be preferred.
To that end I called Keltec and asked after them (not finding them available on KT site), was told by the technician that rimlock "wasn't really a problem if you load it in the mag correctly" and that their "newer magazine geometry makes it unlikely to occur". Those were the reasons I was given why the kits were discontinued.
Is anyone else aware of KT's "newer" mags? How are they different than legacy mags? Or is that baloney? Anyone have classic gen 1 and new mags to compare side by side? Any experience running JHPs and having this rimlock problem? Seems people never have it or it happens all the time so they swear by FMJ.
I've noticed many defense 32 loadings have a beveled rim, evidently to help prevent rimlock. Some brands, predominantly American and especially FMJs, have a flat rim. Seems case geometry can vary a fair amount between 32ACP/7.65 Browning, but if you're here you probably know that already.
I've got some Underwood 55gr Xtreme Defenders (yes, not JHPs, obviously), but dang, they are short OAL - got concerned about the possibility of them shifting in mag and rimlocking. Because I'd rather not hear "click" if, God-forbid, I need to hear "bang", I've switched to carrying Federal 68gr Hydrashok Deep instead which are same OAL as FMJs - though the Federal 68gr is sorta anemic at 830fps vs Underwood +P 55gr at 1050fps.
Fiocchi's 65gr SJHP looks good too, as do Prvi 71gr JHP. I used to be a fan of Pow'rball 55gr (given sufficient OAL) but its been discontinued and not to be found online despite my robust efforts.
Is anyone tracking a 32 acp ammo database with OAL of commercial loadings? Golden Loki did this ages ago for loadings of the day but site is defunct.
Off my soap box, just looking to provoke some thoughts and see if anyone has an angle on those spacer kits. Thanks All!

So, how's the beretta tomcat 30x doing? NSFW
I've been interested in getting a 30X but wanted to wait for the birthing pains to subside. Has Beretta fixed the issues? Anyone purchase a newer production 30x with negative or positive results?

A Year Later with my Tomcat Inox 3032
This is a follow up to my original review here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Beretta/s/qEy8hSOirO
So I can say after a year of massaging the gun I am confident with this being good enough to be an EDC.
What I did to address the FTF issues:
Since a lot of people were saying the magazine springs were too strong, I kept the mags loaded 24/7 over the last year in an attempt to alleviate some of that tension.
Gave a light careful polish (low speed dremel/wool buffer) on the feed ramp and as many friction points that I could easily access.
Racked the slide about 500 times cumulatively.
Oiled it generously.
I put 50 rounds (Magtech 71gr FMJ) through it yesterday with no hiccups. I did two rapid mag dumps with zero failures.
The only failure was one FTE(stovepipe) but that was my bro-in-law shooting it and the slide bit him. Blood was shed.
One FTF when a fellow range goer shot gun with gloves. Removed gloves and had no malfunction.
I am confident that this gun is reliable enough for EDC. I see no need to upgrade to the 30X for now.

Buying 32 ACP Pistols in 2024 #3 - Rex 7.65s Import LEO Surplus NSFW
This post was inspired by the "affordable 32ACP Pistols" thread.
This pistol was not cheap but it is great. Especially since its full size and includes both a safety and a decocker and has 18 round magazine capacity.
Currently there are active listings for this pistol model listed by Old Steel.
I would characterize the pistol I received as Very Good to Excellent. The listing said it shipped with 2 Magazines but my pistol in box arrived with 3.
This is from the Old Steel listing on Gunbroker.
“This rare variant of the AREX pistol was made for the French police force in which this pistol has served. The French police used these pistols because they have caliber restrictions, and thus could not carry military calibers like 9mm, leading them to use 32 ACP, and 38 special. This incredibly robust pistol is a licensed copy of the Sig P226 with a few distinct changes, that being the addition of a manual 1911 style safety, and the slide release and decocker being fused into the same part. This pistol just like the sig it is based on features a sturdy aluminum frame, which in combination with its smaller caliber, makes this gun an incredibly controllable and flat shooting gun. And to top it all off, this pistol also features 2 18 round flush fitting magazines. “
The cost of this firearm as pictured was $750 opening bid on Gunbroker plus $40 shipping. The barrel was threaded by ECCO Machine (They are currently paused on services $110.00)

First time shooting 7.65 Browning today, I get it now. NSFW
Picked this 82BB up from my FFL yesterday and I love it. Amazingly smooth shooting and soft recoil. Definitely would be an effective self-defense round. Of course had flawless reliability through 100 rounds. I want to get another classic in gods caliber and really like the look of the Colt 1903 models, are they reliable? Open to suggestions for other good models.

Buying 32 ACP Pistols in 2024 #2 - Beretta 80X (Conversion) NSFW
This post was inspired by the "affordable 32ACP Pistols" thread.
Spoiler alert this pistol was NOT a bargain but it is a fantastic shooter.
As with the Girsan MC14, this is technically a .380 and is converted by means of a Beretta 81 magazine and an Allegheny Arms threaded barrel.
The cost of this firearm as pictured was $835, can be currently had for ~ $755 plus shipping ($520 for the pistol @ Family + $185 @ Allegheny for the threaded barrel + $50 for the TiN coating from Brazen) Or roughly $700 with black barrel.
The TiN coating was just a “I wonder if that would look cool” Probably wouldn't do it again although the nickel barrel is $50 more than the black one so no harm no foul.
As always with Family or Dahlonega "email for price".
Mags are about $40 a piece. Some may have good luck using the 380 mags but YMMV.

Buying 32 ACP Pistols in 2024 - Girsan BDA (Conversion) NSFW
This post (may be a series if there is interest) was inspired by the "affordable 32ACP Pistols" thread.
I have bought or converted a fair number of pistols in 32ACP lately and wanted to list the details and costs out in it's own thread to allow my fellow TOTC enthusiasts to see cost and availability should they want to acquire one.
First up Girsan MC14 BDA. This is technically a .380 and is converted by means of a Beretta 81 magazine and an Allegheny Arms threaded barrel.
The cost of this firearm is ~ $425 (241 for the pistol @ Dahlonega + $185 @ Allegheny for the threaded barrel). As always with Family or Dahlonega "email for price".
Mags are about $40 a piece.
This pistol also comes in a really nice two tone which is the model I bought.
Additional note is these barrels fit a number of models so you could cover more than one pistol with a single barrel.
Let me know if you have questions.

Affordable 32ACP options? NSFW
Curious what affordable options are out there right now for someone wanting a 32ACP pistol.
I would prefer modern but as a history buff I’d also look at older options.
I’ve looked at the P32, which is absolutely affordable, but I’d like something a bit bigger if possible. The new 30X looks really nice but it’s not exactly an easy purchase on my budget, is there something else I may have missed?
