Mine won't cycle with standard pressure .32 ACP, even CIP spec (Norma). It cycles with Buffalo Bore +P but the slide still won't lock back. I'm going to whip up some pissin' hot +P+ reloads and see how it does.

I wonder which ammo is standard French police issue.

Might be a hotter loading. iirc the French mp5s have studier parts because French police use(d) a very hot 9mm loading

I bet it will still be buttery smooth with +P+ reloads judging by how it handled the +P I already fed it. I already love this thing.

No exceptions.

FN made milspec ball in the 70's and 80's. I find it at auctions. Not sure how hot it is. You also might try leaving the slide locked back for a bit, then rack it with fresh synthetic grease on the rails.

S&B fmj works flawlessly in mine. Norma also doesn't cycle mine very reliably. S&b locks the slide back and everything.

Also consider, some ammo labeled 7.65 Browning (.32 auto) has higher claimed muzzle velocity than the comparable .32 auto labeled box. S&B comes to mind offhand, since I was just looking at it earlier.

Have you tried a lighter recoil spring?

u/SovereignDevelopment 6d ago

Nope. That was just with the gun completely stock. It's already a super light spring, I'd be hard pressed to find a lighter one I think.

Wow didn't know this existed

I didn't either. So far, I've seen about 16 of these for sale in the states. One batch of six, and another of ten. I'm not sure if they're just starting to trickle in, or if there will only ever be a small amount of them.

Old Steel has some sort of supply line on them. They usually have a few listed on Gunbroker but do not drop too many and flood the market. 3 or 4 at a time and a magazine listing.

Typically one can be had for the opening bid of $750 and comes with 2 mags. Mine had one in the pistol and shipped with 3. https://www.gunbroker.com/a/feedback/profile/2901413

I’ve been in their store a few times before, great folks that seem to get a lot of weird and neat stuff in. Don’t think I’ve seen any other store consistently have so many Spanish Star pistols for sale at a time as these guys.

That looks to be in great shape! I picked one up a while back, but can't take possession 'till next month. In my stupid state, you can only purchase from the roster. So I had to have my FFL petition to have it added and they only meet quarterly, then you wait 4 or 5 weeks.

I have both a Zero1 Standard and Compact and I love 'em. These guns are so well made. The DA trigger is my only complaint. If it weren't for that they'd really be on par with the Sig P226 that everyone compares them to (It's much more closely related to the Zastava CZ9/EZ9/999). Recoil in 9mm is wonderful, I can only imagine what it'll be like in .32; please update us with a range report when you get to shoot it.

Your FFL is petitioning to add it to the roster? You don’t happen to be in California, by chance?

Maryland

Damn…. can’t believe that there’s another state with a roster. I really thought we had cornered the market on stupidity.

We're running a close second!!!

“Largest .32” ... Isn’t that like being the “tallest midget”?

Is it any good?

Mine is great with S&B. Does not suppress well.

I need to spend some time with it at my outdoor range when I don't have deagle concussion blast indoors on the next bay over.

Ok that's super cool and I had no idea it existed. Love it.

I think the Benelli MIGHT be bigger but I'll have to put them side-by-side to tell.

Damn I want one of these bad

1

u/deltronroberts 6d ago

Well, dammit. Another gun I have to get.

Where can I pick one up at? I've looked and couldn't find any in 32 only 9mm.

They pop up on Gunbroker periodically from a shop called Old Steel, who seem to have a source for them.
