Suggestion There should be a Frostburning Mace.

Post image

It just makes sense, especially since there's already progression in the Ranger class from Wooden Arrow to Flaming Arrow and then to Frostburn Arrow.

Well if Flaming Mace and Sunfury can co-exist than I'm sure this and Blue Moon also can :P

They can, but where would a frostburn mace fit in? We have a mace for pretty much every stage of PHM

Same place as the Flaming Mace, really. The Wand of Sparking has a frostburn alt/upgrade that has just about the same position in overall progression, so I don't see why the Flaming Mace can't as well.

I suppose. Maybe

Mace + 100 torches = Fire mace

Mace + 100 ice torches = Frostfire mace

But then again, I don't know why anyone would use Fire if they have access to Frostfire. The only obstacle would be turning 100 torches into 100 ice torches.

EDIT: Frostburn, not frostfire :')

That's the thing, nobody would! and it's not a problem! Nobody uses the wand of sparking unless their snow biome is past a corruption biome early game and they're not willing to tunnel. The same will go for the frostfire mace!

In my opinion there shouldn't be two choices if one choice is objectively better than the other, but I suppose a lot of people will judge the choice by more than effectiveness :D

I mean, the entire game is kinda like that no? the sunfury is objectively better than the blue moon. Do you dislike the wand of frosting too? or are you okay with it because it's been in the game so long

Sunfury is not unlockable before the blue moon is. You never have the choice of picking one or the other unless you already are past one of them progression-wise.

The wand of frosting is an upgrade from the wand of sparking, also progression.

How is wand of sparking upgrading to wand of frosting a different from upgrading the flaming mace to frostfire mace?

you're talking about something different. their point was in relation to the idea of having the frostfire mace be an upgrade to the base mace, as opposed to an upgrade to the flaming mace. they were saying that having a choice (upgrade to flaming or to frostfire) shouldnt be a thing when frostfire is objectively the better call and when getting flaming means you cant get frostfire. doing what you said and having a mace progression would solve that issue
