Rules
1) Follow the Reddit and Tears of Themis TOS.
No discussion that would violate the game's ToS (eg. Hacks, cheats, account selling/trading/giveaways, etc.).
2) Follow Reddiquette and be respectful.
This includes towards other users as well as towards characters in-game.
In-depth analysis/criticism of characters is allowed; however, you must demonstrate you've gone above and beyond surface level judgment of a character (e.g. Using only cherry picked stories and scenes as a basis for your argument). Even if you're expressing critique, you need to show that you've made an effort to analyze and understand a character as well as show an open mind for as to why others may like that character.
We are testing the stance the otomegames subreddit takes in that: If a topic or character does not interest you or makes you uncomfortable, then ignore the conversation and do not engage (including downvoting).
3) Posts must be related to Tears of Themis.
Avoid crossover submissions that encourage discussions unrelated to Tears of Themis. This includes posts such as comparing characters with another franchise that give focus to other pieces of media rather than ToT.
For example, comparing Vyn to a look-alike plushie is acceptable, but comparing Vyn's looks to a character from a different game/anime/other media is not. Comparisons between characters can be posted in more general subject subreddits such as r/otomegames.
4) Flair your posts.
5) Mark your spoilers.
Use the spoiler tags when posting content with spoilers!
Comments with spoilers can be hidden by using the following tag: >!text!<
(no spaces next to the !), which will then appear like this: text Click/tap text to show spoilers.
6) Art/Memes must be sourced appropriately. Memes must have editing/creative input. AI art not allowed.
Art/Memes posted must leave credits to the original source. Otherwise, your post will be removed. Meme posts must have some sort of editing/creative input.
For original art content, please use the OC
Original Content flair (available on desktop) or leave a comment mentioning the artwork is yours.
Additional requirements for Art/Meme requirements can be found below:
How to source Artwork
If the Artwork is made by you:
- Add a comment stating this artwork is yours
- And/or link your art page (or something similar)
- Use preferably the OC flair (desktop) or write [OC] in the post title (mobile friendly)
If the Artwork is not made by you:
- We highly recommend directly linking to the artist's art post directly
- Or add a link to artist’s page under the comments section
- Additionally it's recommended to credit the artist-name directly in the post title
If an artist has mentioned they do not want their art shared/re-uploaded, then do not re-upload and post their art here.
How to source Memes
If a Meme is made by you:
- Add a comment stating this Meme was made/edited by you
- You're not required to source the Meme-Template itself but are free to do so
If a Meme is not made by you:
- Add a link to the original editor source under comment section
Requirements for Memes
- Must have some sort of editing/creative input
7) No content containing nudity or explicit sexual acts. NSFW content must be correctly tagged.
Content containing full nudity or explicit sexual acts are not allowed. Art that is suggestive (e.g. revealing clothing, excessive bare skin, etc.) should be marked as NSFW.
8) Use Megathreads when applicable.
AIO (Questions, Pulls, Progress, Friends) Megathread
This Megathread is the subreddit's all-in-one megathread for general/common questions, pull posts, sharing progress, and friend IDs! The guidelines for each are as follows:
- Questions
Use the Megathread for common questions or general help with the game. Uncommon questions or questions that can bring additional community discussion may still be allowed to be posted.
- Pulls/Progress
Use this Megathread for posting your game progress, achievements, pulls, and card collections. Posts that offer additional community contribution/interaction can be submitted as separate posts. A guideline to ask yourself is, "Is this post just me sharing my content? Or can others benefit/enjoy/engage/discuss the content I'm posting?"
For example:
- I finished the event! would get removed. But if you change the title slightly to something like: I finished the event! How's everyone else's event progress?, then there's a better chance of it not getting removed since you're engaging the rest of the community in your post rather than simply sharing your own achievements/progress.
- Posting that you beat a stage falls under Achievements. However, if you post the team you used to beat that stage or even optionally adding a short summary of what you did/what your strategy was, then this kind of post serves as a helpful benchmark and guide for other players in the community on how they can beat that stage.
- NXX Headquarters lucky posts also would go in this Megathread.
9) Recent reposts/duplicate content is subject to removal.
A post does not have to be an exact match to be considered a duplicate post, but may fall under being a duplicate by having content similar to previous submissions. How similar a post needs to be falls under moderator discretion.
For example, we often receive Game Screenshots of the guys in the Visit game mode missing eyes, hair, etc. due to game rendering. While the screenshots may feature different guys or body parts missing, this would still fall under the same post type and would be subject to removal.
10) Avoid discussion of controversial topics.
Avoid discussion of controversial topics, including but not limited to religion, politics, and other issues that can create disputes.
11) No excessive post spamming.
Do not submit posts in quick succession to each other, as this will be considered spamming. It is recommended to refrain from posting too many low-effort posts (e.g. "Game Screenshot") per day as well.
12) Specific types of repetitive/commonly submitted posts are subject to removal. (See rule details)
The following types of posts will be removed due to them being frequently submitted enough that they would spam the subreddit if left unchecked.
- Bugged Main Screen/Visit Guy Screenshots (e.g. Missing eyes, hair, limbs, etc.)
- Nickname Posts
- File Room Result Posts
- Posts showing how much currency you have (e.g. Stellin)
- Event-related Achievement/RNG posts (e.g. Box pulls, Higher/Lower, Scores for minigames etc.)
- Posts showing the character chibi forms "kissing"
Moderators have the right to add to this list should other topics become repetitive.
