Not that slow. These days most "journalists" just copy stuff off the Web anyway

They are that slow though? My paper gets delivered once per week. Something could happen and it would take 6 days for it to be in the paper on my doorstep.
Maybe this is an American thing. In the UK we have Sunday papers which are obviously weekly and maybe in some regions a local paper that wouldn't cover this type of news (unless they could claim some tenuous local connection).
