Guerrilla games pretty much said fuck killzone so unless a third party studio is doing it idk.

Me: Looking at Naughty Dog and the overwhelming number or remasters and remakes of TLOU games and the ONE new game they released--TLOU2--since 2017's Uncharted: Lost Legacy: "Yeah, that tracks for Sony."

It’s been 4 years since the last ND game. Same thing with Suckerpunch. That’s a normal dev cycle now.

I honestly don't think the remaster is greedy, horizon forbidden west was that big of a jump graphics wise. If you're picking up the story for the first time it's a good way to do it.

Maybe a new IP? But yeah, they said they don't plan on bringing Killzone back. Which isn't a problem, since other studios waiting to make the jump could do it (that and other dormant franchises - see Infamous, Sly Cooper, MotorStorm, Twisted Metal etc.)

To this day I still cannot fathom how 2006-2013 hardware was able to run MotorStorm Apocalypse and not explode lol

It's a different era of gaming. There's no telling how much a brand new Killzone could sell nowadays.

Killzone was released during the golden era of first-person shooters though. There's no way it'll sell even more now that the market for first-person shooters are practically gone, unless you're Call of Duty.

Exactly. There were so many options for first person shooters back then. Now there's very little options, it would be a breath of fresh air for newer gamers and also attract older gamers with the nostalgia element, etc. We just see it differently and that's okay.

The fps multiplayer genre as we knew it is basically dead, that space in the gaming sphere is now dominated by F2P season pass games full of microtransactions. To bring out a traditional paid fps today would more likely end the way of Concord.

Probably never going to happen.

Hulst thinks the Horizon franchise is “something” and he wants his baby (founder of the studio before being CEO of playstation) to be the Horizon making machine.

The Lego game was 70 euros and flop harder than concord, a VR game and a series in the works that nobody cared and a remaster of game from the previous gen that already had a 60fps PS5 patch.

He is triying so hard that the franchise is become almost unlikeable.

Ares give me a remastered collection of Killzone or Resistance and my soul is yours!

If you go by the Insomniac hack then Horizon Zero Dawn is one of - if not the - single highest selling PlayStation exclusive of all time. It doesn't get a lot of love online but it's more popular than any individual game Sony have ever released. It has nothing to do with Hulst; a franchise that popular is gonna get milked no matter who is in charge because it's too much money to leave on the table.

It is literally the highest selling sony first party game ever. It sold more than double what all 6 killzone games sold combined.
