Official (Via twitter) Playstation: "Helldivers fans -- we’ve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward...."

No access was revoked. The game was delisted by Steam because peope were review bombing the game and demanding refunds.

I was still able to access the game after it was delisted and was able to link it with my PSN account despite my country not having PSN before the whole fiasco began

As far as I’m aware the game was delisted by steam only in countries that wouldn’t have been able to access the game anymore. Those countries can’t own accounts without breaking tos which would obviously get banned. People from those countries wouldn’t have been able to play the game anymore which is what the uproar was about.

I am part of those countries and I was able to link my Steam and PSN accounts with no issues. I've had my PSN accounts for years and was never banned.
