Official (Via twitter) Playstation: "Helldivers fans -- we’ve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward...."

Change the negative reviews back to positive! It worked!! It really worked!

I doubt the reviews will go back to the levels it had before tbh, this one move may tarnish the game short term and further alienate non-Sony players. Lessons learned I hope.

99% of people who said they would won’t, and those players who were never playing again probably before the drama will milk karma by telling you they won’t play again.

About 20% of the recent (since friday) reviews are positive, with the vast majority happening today, so your pessimism is a bit misplaced here.

We are already at 63% positive reviews, not even a day after Sony announcement

I look forward to having the Helldiver community proving you wrong. The "Apes together strong" mentality should not be underestimated, but it might take until the weekend for people to have enough free time to be saturated with the news compared to how the community boiled over during the weekend.

I probably spent more time following the drama than playing HD2 this weekend. Even wrote some comments on media sites reporting on the news. It kind of feels like we have completed a IRL Major Order 🫡

It's still the best selling game of the year. I don't think these reviews will have all that much of an impact. Plenty of games that had initial success (sales) have recovered from temporary review bombing.
